I Want To Be The Next HSB Idol!!!

Ok, I have been invited to enter in a song writing contest, I don't know how great I'll do, since I just started writing songs not that long ago. (usualy I just write poetry). Sooooo.... Here goes:

                                                             AWAKE

Staring at the wall,

Wondering why I bother

Getting out of bed.

Whats the purpose,

Yeah, whats the- use.

Asking myself a dozen questions,

That I don't have an answer for.

Maybe I'm just going insane.

Bridge:

Living for myself, yeah,

Living for today,

I'm not living at all,

A walking zombie,

Walking dead.

Somebody pinch me,

'Cuz I don't think I'm quite,

Awake.

Can't seem to shake myself

Of this comatose I'm in,

I try to scream and

Nothing happens.

I think that I'm sleepwalking, yeah,

Where's my alarm clock when I need it?

Then again, Maybe I'm just going

Insane.

Living for myself

Yeah, living for today.

I'm not living at all,

A walking zombie,

Walking dead.

Somebody pinch me,

'Cuz I don't think I'm quite

Awake.

I need someone to shake me out,

Of this reverie I'm stuck inside.

My eyes are blank,

 Can't think a thought

To save my life.

Yeah, I'm trapped inside an empty room,

And all I can thnk about is- me.

But maybe I'm just going insane.

Living for myself,

Yeah, living for today.

I'm not living at all,

A walking zombie,

Walking dead.

Somebody pinch me,

'cuz I don't think I'm quite

Awake.

Can't seem to escape from myself,

Yeah, I think I need Your help,

Only You can pull me out

Of this pit I'm in, yeah.

It's so dark,

I need your light,

Don't leave me,

Don't leave me, yeah.

I wanna live for you,

Yeah, living for eternity,

I finaly feel alive.

I'm walking full of life.

Don't bother pinching me,

'Cuz I'm already

Awake.

That's all I've got, I just wrote it one day when I was feeling frustrated with myself and my own humanity. I hope you judges like it!

What's The Use Of A Title Anyway???

Whats up everyone? This is the magazine cover I made at that one sight, www.bighugelabs.com , it was really fun, but a word to the wise, dont put anything in line 11-17 or else you won't be able to see anything else on your cover!

It's dorky, I know, but I was in a dorky stae of mind. Actually I think the dorky state of mind thing is perpetual!! Scary thought, AAAHHHH  So what is up with all my buddies out there?

Just for those who are, at most, as slow as I am, no, that notice from my dad is NOT serious, it was a complete hoax made up in one of his goofy moments.

I am trying to learn how to make the pictures on our computer smaller, so that I can post a few here on my blog. Today I got some priceless ones of mom and dad throwing ice at eachother from their lemonade glasses. My personal favorite is the one with mom poking her head around the corner with this evil look of utter delight as she taunts dad, aahh, precious!! I'll try to get it on here!

My Dad Is Such A Goofball!

My dad wrote this down after he kicked me off the computer for a couple of minute, so I told him I was going to post it! He told me to go for it! so, here I quote my dad:

Hey, sorry to interrupt. This is Tori's father. I have a loaded shotgun awaiting the first guy who is either brave enough or stupid enough to think he can begin any sort of dialogue with my daughter over the internet. I am a very good aim and have escaped all my prior encounters with the law concerning the "accidental: shooting of young men. Thanks, and have a great day.

Any guys who have left comments, beware!!!!!!

Miscalaneous ramblings

I was fooling around on the computer with my mom, and we each made a magazine cover on this really cool website: www.bighugelabs.com/flikr/ , everyone should check it out. It is kind of dorky, but I was in a dorky mood.  tried to put it on my blog, but I don't know how.

Any body reading any good books lately I love a good book. I read every chance, I don't like to do something meaningless, or something that is not mentally challenging, because I can't  stand doing something that does not require me to think! Am I just wierd, or is this normal?

I am saving up for a guitar, anyone a guitar junkie like me? Can anyone give me a suggestion on a good beginner's guitar I could buy?

Explanation

You know, in my last entry, I was'nt trying to bash people who pay attention to their feelings, thats not anything bad at all! I guess the way I interpret "follow your heart" is "go with whatever feels good", and to me, that is totaly against God. So, that is what I meant.

I got a lot of comments on that blog, and I agree with you guys, absaloutly! Sorry if I came on a bit strong, was'nt trying to offend anyone!

Following My Heart... Does That Sound Like Baloney?

I was reading an article in the TOS magazine and it was about following your heart, and the lie in that. You know if you translated that into plain old english, it would be something like, follow your feelings.. yikes!  I don't know about you, but if I followed my feelings, it would be a scary mess! Or this is even better, Follow your flesh, we could translate it that way. And your flesh is everything that  is against God and doing the right thing. So follow everything in you that is against anything and everthing good and right. Wow, that sounds alot different than snow white sighing dreamily and telling you to follow your heart, for in that way is the true way to happiness, oh please, someone pass me a bucket!!!

Just something to think about.

To Shelter Or Not To Shelter, That Is The Question!

Last night my mom and I were watching a TLC show about a family of 13 kids, and one daughter had to be asked to leave because she had completely turned away from what her parents had taught hert growing up, everything they had ever told her not to do, she had started to do.

So I was thinking about this, and I could'nt help but wonder, these kids are very sheltered, if you shelter your kid from all the bad things of this world, and never talk about them, and then they find out about all this stuff from their friends, will that make them more suceptible to all this stuff? You know, will they want to try all this stuff out that they were always sheltered from, will they be curious about everthing they were never allowed to do when they get out of the house? I asked my mom about this, and she told me that usualy it was'nt the being sheltered from this stuff tha made them want to try it, but rebellion in their heart. Well that made sense, but did that have to be the rule for everyone? My gears were still turning, and you know how teens are, they want to think that they know everything and believe that they are always right, so I did'nt accept mom's ideas right away, I was still thinking about it

Today mom called me over and gave me the latest TOS magazine to read. She wanted me to read an  article by Ken Ham on sheltering your kids, so I did, it was loooong, but I read it. It was very interesting and it convinced me. He backed up everything he said with scripture. He talked about everything from sheltering your kids from public school to the friends they have, and he also covered the age old complaint about your kids getting no socialization and never being able to socialize when they grow up,  He talked about being the salt of the earth, and how your kids can't be the salt of the earth if they are being corrupted because you do'nt want to shelter your kids and "cripple" them. All in all, I am won over, and I think you guys should read some of Ken Ham's stuff, he's a cool guy!

Throw It Away

why put your trust

In imperfect people?

Who just crush you

Again and again.

Why waste your affection

On people who throw it away?

They say they'll change,

And they do,

But only for a day or two.

You waste your tears

And trust

On people who throw it away.

You say

"just one more time,

I'll give them one more chance".

And you break your heart

Again and again

On people who throw it away.

Sometimes its not a crime,

To just give up.

To withdraw your hope

Trust and affection.

To just give up,

On people who throw it away.

Ouch

I am such an idiot!  Today I decided to take a quick spin on my horse, bareback cuz I did'nt feel like saddling her up, out in our pasture. Big Mistake1 I 'm sitting here nursing my bruises, aches, scrapes, and a twisted ankle to boot. Plus I broke my glasses, their fixable, but until I can take them in, I'm as blind as a bat. GGGRRR, today is definitely NOT my day.
It started out pretty fun, just jogging around, then our two young horses started  running aroun, and Fancy decided to run too, well, I'll give that jug head one thing, she is fast enough to make your eyes water! Then she started to run with her head down, and I 'm like oh no! she's trying to buck!  She hopped a few times, but I managed to drag her head back up. Then I saw that she was heading for our hill, Big uh-oh. For those of you who have never been to our house, our hill is very steep. Well, she started bucking again, and I was starting to think about bailing out, but then I looked down at the rocky ground whizzing underneath me I almost threw up, bleh. So there I was clinging desperately to a bucking horse racing up a very steep hill, and I tried one last time to stop her, because she was heading for a dangerous, narrow part of our property, going mock 10. I closed my eyes and jumped,  landed hard, and did a somersault. My back was all scraped up, I had dirt down my jeans, my ankle felt like it was broken, My head had hitten a rock really hard, I was dazed, my glasses had flown off somewhere, man, I dont think I'll do that again, jump off, ride bareback out in our pasture, any of it.
I'm thinking about entering my poetry in a beginners poetry contest. I've been studying really hard about the mechanics of poetry, so I have been writing alot, here is another poem:

Twist Me A Crown Of Wildflowers
Twist me a crown of wildflowers,
My friend, my dear, my playmate,
Never mind the spring showers,
Let's explore, our curiosity we'll slate.

Twist me a crown of wildflowers,
And we'll fly away together,
Over hill and hillock, or inside our secret bowers,
We'll be friend's forever.

Twist me a crown of wildflowers,
And I'll twist one for you,
Never mind everyone's glowers,
 theres nothing we can't do!

Twist me a crown of wildflowers,
In innocence we pledge
Forever to be together, to play for hours,
Our mansion is the hedge.

Twist me  a crown of wildflowers,
And we'll each be a royal queen
In our castle, with turrets and towers,
We'll be the royalist ever seen!

Twist me a crown of wildflowers,
And when we're old and gray, together we'll sip our tea,
We won't be cranky and sour,
Friends forever we'll be.

Twist me a crown of wildflowers,
And lay it on my grave,
Sprinkle it with your tears in showers,
Forever the memories we'll save.

          T. J. Weller.
dedicated to my adopted sisters, Patience and Hope.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we adopted another girl, from a disrupted adoption, she is ten years old and as cute as pie! We have had her for about 3 weeks now! You can probably read more about it on my mom's blog!

The Little Men

Rarely are they seen

With wings so thin and fair,

Clad in leaves so green,

Spun moonlight for their hair.

They swim in musty bogs,

Their homes in hoary oak,

With toads for their watchdogs,

But they just sit and croak.

If any is a tomnoddy,

To tramp across their den,

They'll find their captive body,

Inside the fair folks glen,

Nobody could hope the catch them,

they're much to clever for that,

But if you hap'n upon the little men

They'll trick you, without an eyelash bat!

But if your exceptionaly clever,

You can get granted a wish,

But beware trust them never,

Instead of riches, a fish!

They're tricksy and they're liars,

And if you ever spite them,

They'll stuff your pillow with briars!

Beware the little men.

They have a fairy queen,

With hair of raven black

But she is cross and mean,

And loves a fairy head to crack!

That is my tale of little men,

Who live in hoary oak,

Inside their fairy glen,

With toads who sit and croak.

Are Actions Louder Than Words?

Have you seen knives,
Cut through someones flesh?
Have you seen the  blood flow,
The life go out of someone's eyes?

 Are actions louder than words?

Have you seen someones hopes.
Dreams, plans, and goals.
Torn right out of their palm?
The life go out of someones eyes?

 Are actions louder than words?

Have you seen words,
Fly out of a mouth?
Have you seen cruel words,
Crush a person's life?

 Are actions louder than words?

Have you seen insults,
Jabs, barbs, and names,
Steal a person's joy
Or even their entire life?

 Are actions louder than words?

Rattle Creak, Puff, Squeek, Wheeze.....

Those are all the sounds that the lovely rental car we have been laoned makes, or I shoud say, made! When we got into our first class rental this morning to go to church, we breathed in the lovely aroma of..... cigarette smoke? And old shoes??? With maybe a dash of .... hhhhmmm was that a rotting smell? Perhaps there was a corpse underneath one of the seats. would'nt have surprised us, still we did'nt risk a peek! The front window was crusted over with ice, and the windshield wipers did'nt work! My brother happened to hold up a pair of wipers that moment just moving junk to sit down. I grabbed one and headed outside to manually wipe the windows. By the time I was done my fingers were wet and cold! my fingers pulled loose of the door handle without tearing any skin off, surprisingly! Mom started 'er up and we started with a jerk, which smashed Ben's (my 7 YO bro) head against the back, which was metal. Well, surprisingly we made it to chuch alive, and we enjoyed it very much, (the service, not the ride there!) When the service was over, we went out to our luxurious vehicle and prepared to do some grocery shopping neccesary, because we are expecting company, (one of our most favorite families ever, the McCartys!) and the truck would'nt start. Thank God above that we happened to have good friend to help us out! We reluctantly, (yeah right!) left the monstrosity there, and it is still there right now!  As we left I gave my mom these encouraging words: Do'nt worry mom, nobody would ever want to steal that!

OLD tale

Phil. 4:13

This will give you chills....

No matter how religious you may or may not be,

this can give you chills.

Phil. 4:13 states:

"I can do all things through Christ

which strengthen me."

Here's the story:

A young man who had been raised as an atheist

was training to be an Olympic diver.

The only religious influence in his life came from his outspoken
Christian friend.

The young diver never really paid much attention to his friend's
sermons,

but he heard them often.

One night the diver went to the indoor pool at the college he attended.

The lights were all off,

but as the pool had big skylights and the moon was bright,

there was plenty of light to practice by.
The young man climbed up to the highest diving board and as he turned
his back to the pool on

the edge of the board and extended his arms out,

he saw his shadow on the wall.

The shadow of his body,

was in the shape of a cross.

The man felt a strange feeling,

like someone was speaking to him.

Instead of diving,

he knelt down and

finally asked God to come into his life.

As the young man stood,

a maintenance man walked in and turned the lights on.

The pool had been drained for repairs.

Remember this story and send it to a friend.

Pass this to ten people --

and the person who sent it to you !!!!!!!!!!!

ANGELS EXIST, but they all don't have wings, those angels are called FRIENDS, SUCH ! AS YO U.

sad but true

$20.00
Sometimes we just need
to be reminded!

A well-known speaker started
off his seminar by
holding up a $20.00 bill.

In the room of 200, he asked,
"Who would like this
$20 bill?"
Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going
to give this $20 to one of you
but first, let me do this.
He proceeded to crumple up
the $20 dollar bill.

He then asked, "Who
still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in
the air.

Well, he replied, "What
if I do this?"
And he dropped it on the
ground
and started to grind it into
the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up, now crumpled
and dirty.
"Now, who still wants
it?"
Still the hands went into
the air.

My friends, we have all learned
a very valuable lesson.
No matter what I did to the
money, you still wanted it
because it did not decrease
in value.

It was still worth $20.
Many times in our lives,
we are dropped, crumpled,
and ground into the dirt
by the decisions we make
and
the circumstances that come
our way.

We feel as though we are
worthless.!
But no matter what has happened
or
what will happen, you will
never lose your value.
Dirty or clean, crumpled
or finely creased,
you are still priceless to
those who DO LOVE you.

The worth of our lives comes

not in what we do or who we know,
but by WHO WE ARE.
You are special-
Don't EVER forget it."
If you do not pass this on,
you may never know the
lives it touches, the hurting
hearts it speaks to,
or the hope that it can bring.

Count your blessings, not
your problems.

And remember: amateurs built
the ark
professionals built the Titanic.

If God brings you to it -
He will bring you through it.

for people who like a laugh

---- Some people never seem motivated to participate, but are just inclined to watch while others do the work.
They are called "Speck Taters".

They're related to  people that never do anything to help, but are gifted at finding fault with the way others do the work.
They are called "Common Taters".

Some people are very bossy and like to tell others what to do, but don't want to soil their own hands.
They are called "Dic Taters".

Some people are always looking to cause problems by asking others to agree with them. It is too hot or too cold, too sour or too sweet.
They  are called "Ajji Taters".

There are those who say they will help, but somehow just never get around to actually doing the promised help.
They are called "Hezzie Taters".

Some people can put up a front and pretend to be someone they are not.
They are called "Immie Taters".

Then, THANK GOD,  there are those who love others and do what they say they will. They are always prepared to stop whatever they are doing and lend a helping hand. They bring real sunshine into the lives of others.
They are called "Sweet Po Taters".

WENT TO A PARTY, MOM

(read all the way to the bottom and sign your name)

I went to a party,
And remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
so I had a sprite instead.

I felt proud of myself,
The way you said I would,
that I didn't drink and drive,
though some friends said I should.

I made a healthy choice,
And your advice to me was right.
The party finally ended,
and the kids drove out of sight.

I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece.
I never knew what was coming, Mom,
something I expected least.

Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
the kid that caused this wreck was drunk,
Mom, his voice seems far away.

My own blood's all around me,
As I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say,
this girl is going to die.

I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high.
Because he chose to drink and drive,
now I would have to die.

So why do people do it, Mom
Knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me,
like a hundred stabbing knives.

Tell sister not to be afraid, Mom
Tell daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven,
put " Mommy's Girl" on my grave.

Someone should have taught him,
That it's wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had,
I'd still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter,
Mom I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments,
and I'm so unprepared.

I wish that you could hold me Mom,
As I lie here and die.
I wish that I could say, "I love you, Mom!"
So I love you and good-bye.
