A Web Link for You!

It's been a busy time, but I want to take a moment to post a link.  I just read two books by Mitali Perkins, a Christian author.  They're called First Daughter: Extreme American Makeover and First Daughter: White House Rules.  Sameera, an orphan from Pakistan, was adopted at age three by the now (fictional) Republican nominee for president and his politically active wife.  Sameera, called Sparrow by her closest friends, blogs about her experiences.  You will learn a lot about presidential campaigns and you'll cheer for Sparrow as she remains true to herself and her heritage.  You can watch a book trailer, too, but here's the best part.  Mitali Perkins is maintaining Sparrow's blog, and Sparrow gives you the low-down on the candidates' children and family.  So cool!  Here's the link:

There's actually a third Mitali Perkins book I read.  Don't miss Rickshaw Girl.  It's a chapter book that will keep you reading.  I finished it in one sitting.  It is simply a lovely book about a girl who wants so much to help her impoverished family that she tries to break the gender rules that govern earning money in her country.

Well, I've been remiss in my blog vacation. I LOVE your new look, Stef, you techy-you! And why don't you have a picture of your books on your blog, m'dear? Val does; I do. Do you want my son to make you a rotating graphic of your books like mine to post on your blog? Where would you want it to link to? CBD? Your website?
Just let me know and I"ll put him on it. He needs something to do rather than play video games.

Hi Stef,
That sounds like an interesting book. What you need to post about is some historical fiction with boys as the main characters. I need to find some for this school year.
I had to laugh at your comment. I am sure you would have not laughed one bit to see me rolling down the large slide. : )
