Please Pray - Job Interview

Posted in Around the House

I would appreciate your prayers today. I have an interview for a job with an online editorial team. This is my third interview and seems to be the final step before they decide to hire me.

This is a career change for me, and although I have experience in this field, this will be the first full time job in this area. It is something I sense God will be using me in for quite a while. Pray that if God wants me in this position, that I will have no problem "landing the fish" that He seems to have hooked for me.

After 8 months of unemployment, self-employment, freelancing, and God's miraculous provision through all of it, I may be back into steady work. Only God will move me into this position. I am so thankful and grateful that He's watched over us and kept us under His care. I'm learning so much. All of it seems to be God demonstrating His love and power. I don't deserve His love, but I am so glad He loves me.

Pax Christi,

I do hope, though, that "steady work" won't mean less-than-steady blogging!! ;)

My dh was out of work for a full year 5 years ago, and while God provided for us in every way...let's just say I understand where you're coming from!
I so appreciate your attitude of seeking GOD's will and leaving the decisions with him. May He bless you abundantly.
In HIS will there is peace.

Friday, May 12, 2006 - Interview

Posted by SteveWalden

Thanks for your prayers! The interview with the team went really well. I feel like God gave me the words and helped me answer the questions. Among the more interesting ones were "What was your best day working in the last year?" Being that only 3 months of the last year were spent in full-time employment, I told them about how a post from my blog was picked up for a magazine and how thrilling it was to see people grab hold of what I had written and get excited about it.

They asked me the converse of the question ( i.e. "worst day,") by prefacing it with "Probably when you were laid off, right?" I told them that actually ranked up there with the best day because it was a clear change and God was moving us forward. I told them it's given me a chance to pursue things I'd always wondered about and that God's provision has really been miraculous and faithful.

A good sign came toward the end of the interview when they asked me how long my term as a temp employee was with my existing position (should conclude at the end of the month). If they weren't truly interested, they wouldn't have bothered asking.

I like the team enough to work with them and I think God gave me favor with them. He and I were talking more than the usual yesterday (interviews make anyone nervous). The impressions I got back from Him were mostly, "I made you. I created you. You are a miracle, and I can use you." It always helps to get a pep talk from my Dad.

They will let me know about the position by Friday of next week. They have an interview with another candidate on Tuesday. May God give them wisdom and let them pick the right person. If that's not me, I know He'll take care of me and my family.

Thanks again for your prayers! I know they helped!
