Ok...the kids are in bed...mostly. I can blog about this now. Phew, wouldn't want this to leak to them, would we?
Gena asked her readers if they homeschool all year round or if they take a summer break. My answer is: Both! We stop formal assignments between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In fact, we just went out for ice cream to celebrate the end of the school year. Our mistake was going at 4 PM -- all the class-schooled kids were arriving with their mom's in tow for some ice cream.
Anyway, we stopped formal schooling today, but just like life, learning never really stops. We have the kids read in the summer reading program out of our library and we take numerous field trips to learn about stuff. That's education. That's a lifestyle...It's both.
