Not Dead Yet

Posted in Around the House

Remember in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, that little bit of black humor about the Black Plague? I feel like the Dead Body That Claims It Isn't. I'm "not dead yet," although I am close.

I have just returned -- sans laptop and hence offline -- from the Christian Home Educators of Colorado state conference. I know you all missed me ;-) I am...exhausted. I feel like I walked there and then walked home. For a big guy like me, that's not a small feet feat. Thankfully, my wife and kids are equally worn out and we're all relaxing by watching The Incredible Journey followed by Tom & Jerry. I guess it's a cats & dogs theme, especially judging by the clouds outside.

If I could do it over again, I would have packed a laptop and a coffee maker along with the obligatory grinder, cream and sugar. We couldn't wait for tomorrow, so we made some coffee now. Crazy, huh? We need it though. I have much to do, especially writing. I have in my head so many ideas and concepts that it almost hurts. I want to write them all at once, however impossible that may seem.

I'm grateful for everyone's patience while I've been away. I hope to get some pictures online soon for everyone to view. I even got a picture of Scott Somerville talking about charter schools. He gave a great talk, although he kept calling me a "curmudgeon." I was actually trying for "heckler."

A belated Happy Father's Day to you. I
I'm looking forward to your posts on the conference. I'm not surprised you're exhausted. Large groups of people wear me out - even if I'm sitting still.
