This is, to put it bluntly, amazingly dumb. Someone down at the King County library in Washington state somehow believes that this is the right way to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Talk about an agenda out of touch with reality. No victims, no heroes, no reflection on what happened that day, just "hug the earth," and peace literature. What a way to raise your kids! Yeah, that awful thing happened, but now we can dance with a tiger and feel good about ourselves.
This spineless, limp-fish reaction was what Usama bin Laden banked on. He never expected that the Americans had a backbone and would invade Afghanistan weeks later. My flag will be flying high on Monday, and I'm going to be talking about 9/11 with my kids. How about you?
