America's Greatest External Threat

Posted in Salt and Light

I mostly try to steer clear of foreign policy and such on my blog because...well, I'm not really that kind of blogger. I think that's better left to political blogs and such. Still, I do read some political blogs and believe it's a valuable tool for the common man or woman to be able to speak out on issues that are of local, national, and international significance.

One thing that does concern me in this arena that I feel like I need to talk about is the perception some people may have that "radical Muslims" are fringe elements within the religion of Islam. While this may hold some water in the media and other arenas, I've come to believe this is absolutely untrue. Radical Muslims practicing jihad, or holy war, are practicing their true faith. There are countless verses in the Koran urging Muslims to make war on those who do not follow their religion. Subdue them, dominate them, treat them unfairly, kill them -- these are all commands that come from the Koran and are used to drive countless men and women to do unspeakable acts against those who do not follow their religion.

Moderate Muslims, those not heeding the call to jihad, are severely disadvantaged to try to subdue this violent movement because their own scriptures are stacked against them. They have almost no ability to quell the violence because their own scriptures incite violence. It is no religion of peace. It is a religion of submission, of blood and of vengeance. Moderate Muslims are not mainstream, but marginal.

The greatest threats to America in the 20th century were fascism and communism. There were those that believed that appeasement, such as Neville Chamberlain, who believed Adolf Hitler's words that they only wanted a piece of Czechoslovakia that was traditionally German. He came back to Britain believing he had purchased "peace in our time." In reality, he had purchased time for Hitler to further develop his wehrmacht -- his war machine -- to take over Poland, the European Lowlands, and eventually France, isolating Britain and weakening it for Hitler's attempt at conquest.

Islamo-fascism, as the political ideology of mainstream Muslims has been called, sets the stage for the next world war. I'm not as concerned about North Korean nuclear blackmail as I am about the next Muslim who feels the need to wage a war on Western Civilization. Eventually, they will build their own nukes or get hold of them. North Korea, for all it's hyperbole and military strength, can still be reasoned with, or at least starved into submission. An Islamo-fascist is far more willing to trade his world for the next if it means pleasing Allah.

America must not meet ruthlessness with appeasement. We cannot duplicate the mistakes of the past. America must meet it with it's own resolve and prove itself stronger than Islamo-fascism. The hard reality is that we have been unwilling up to this point to do what Islamo-fascists have deemed necessary to prove ourselves stronger. We have not been as ruthless as they would be in our place. We have exercised restriant -- which Islamo-fascists have mistaken for weakness. My deepest concern is that the next attack from the Islamo-fascists might remove our restraint, and America, in her fury, would unleash a true holocaust that will come at the cost of her soul. Censure from a world that has already proven it's capacity to misjudge would be swift. Economic depression would be severe. Life as we know it would never be the same.

In a few weeks, we must vote for those who would keep a hard resolve on Islamo-fascists. I don't urge you to vote for one party or another, but I personally don't see much resolve on the left.

Most importantly, we need to pray for our President and Congress. We must. It is not an option. God can do miracles in the world body. Nothing is too hard for him.

Imagine a muslim reading our own dear Bible: full of war, revenge, violence and misogeny. Absolutely no difference.

Welcome, Anonymous. You need to read my FAQ on deleting comments if you want to post here again. I'll respond this time, however.

I will refer you to a good piece on the fundamental differences between the Bible and the Koran when it comes to violence. I'll summarize two of the author's points here, both of which contradict your broad generalization.

  • Unlike Muslims and their Koran, Christians have no justification in the Bible to use violence in the name of Christ.
  • The Bible does not condone warfare as a means of forcing religion on potential converts.

If you read the piece, I think you'll find a lot more food for thought.

You handled "Annonymous" graciously, and with mercy, love, and tenderness...just as own dear Savior would do. I won't say "would have done" because our Savior lives, unlike the Allah of the Koran.
Keep up the great job!
