A Godly Perspective On Bravery

Posted in Connecting with God

"My religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave."
—Thomas Stonewall Jackson

If God has numbered our days, we have no reason to fear the One Who provides them. Our lives are spent either pursuing God's call or running away from it. But if we are pursuing it, we don't need to worry about when our job is done.

This is so true. I do not fear when it is my time to leave this life. But, I wonder if I'll be sad to leave my children and DH....that's my fear. But, is that a fear when you're with the Lord? Oh, my, I get teary just blogging about it! This was great food for thought.
