Finding Our Way

Mar. 20, 2007 - Thankful To Be Right Here

While I was working on the computer today, my 6 year old and 7 year old were coloring together. They were singing together, "Our God is an Awesome God" in their sweet little girl voices. It was precious for this mom's heart to hear.

When they came to show me the pictures they'd drawn, one was of three crosses on a hill and one was of an angel standing next to an empty tomb on a beautiful day.

And I am thankful. I am so incredibly thankful that I have a husband who completely supports me being home with our children. I am so thankful to be homeschooling and able witness those moments. I am so  thankful to have healthy children who know the Lord. I am so thankful for a church that comes alongside us and helps to teach my girls about Him. I am so thankful to be a mom of little girls who sing. I am so thankful to be right here.

Fabulous! I LOVE it when they sing praise songs!
It IS a special gift we have, being home with our kids and keeping them home with us!

Wow, I go away for a minute and you post 4 or 5 times! I'm going to have to subscribe to your feed so that I can keep up with you! :)
I'm glad you appreciated my post, it was a good reminder for me as well. With the number of toilets that need cleaning, I should be able to have a wonderful worship service. :)
I'm glad you're enjoying blogging! It's such a blessing! I've been having fun seeing your comments here and there. You definately seem like a kindred spirit!
Take care,
Angel

BOO HOO! That is such a sweet story of your little girlys singin' and colorin'...it just makes me want to cry happy tears! Precious! I have to tell you a story now. My Lily colors pictures of Jesus all the time, and He always has a red scribble on His chest. I finally asked her why Jesus always has a scribble... she looked at me incredulously and said, "Mommy, that's His Holy Sprit!" Isn't that cute?

Anyway, I cannot wait to make that Mountain Dew Bread! YUM!!

The Irish Soda Bread I made was very good. Here's the recipe:
4C all purpose flour
4Tbls white sugar
1teas baking soda
1teas baking powder
1/2teas salt
1/2C marg,soft
1C buttermilk
1egg
1/4C butter, melted (for brushing on top)
1/4C buttermilk for (brushing on top)

Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease cooking sheet.
In large bowl, mix together dry ingredients. Then add margarine. Mix well. Stir in Buttermilk and egg. Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead slightly. Form dough into a round shape on cooking sheet. Brush with melted butter and buttermilk mixture. Cut an X into loaf. Bake for 45-50 minutes. (MINE TOOK LESS TIME THAN THIS...35-40 min) Continue to brush mixture on top of loaf as it's baking. We served ours with Strawberry jam...yummy!
