It's all in how you look at it...

I'm back and have a messy house!

I am really excited to be back to my blog!
Since stopping blogging, things around here have kept going at a fast pace.

We have started school already. We have a little over one month completed. I have begun a new schedule of three weeks on and one week break. I love it because it always seems that by week three, I am ready for a break and need it desperately!

I have been more involved at church and am meeting so many new people. One thing an older lady said to me(I like to refer to her 'type' as a Titus 2 lady!) was to not worry about housework but focus on enjoying this time with my children. Housework will wait but my children will grow up fast and I can never get that time with them back. Now, I have been told this before and never took it to heart. This time I thought to myself, I am going to try this on and see if it 'fits' me and go from there.

So, the results?!

I have been filled with so much peace and joy! I have looked for ways to play and be with my children. I love them and feel the love growing in my towards them the more I place them above having the ideal house, clean and spotless. I guess that's ideal?

I did school with my two oldest yesterday and had a great time with it. Then after lunch and a movie, I took them to the bike trail nearby. I jogged with my youngest in the stroller (that was soo hard as it's difficult to manage and....well....he's heavy!!!). My older two rode their bikes ahead of me. We had a great time looking at the trees and woods nearby and trying in vain to spot an eagle or two! But it was a blast.
Then I took them to a playground in town that they always beg me to go to because they just love it there.
There had recently been some remodeling done at the playground and now there were swings! So, I hopped on one right next to my kids and we pretended to be rockets soaring in space meeting up with one another on our varying travels. It was so much fun! Then we all headed over to the play area and I climbed right up there with my children and even went down slides with them and everything. Lots of laughs and fun!
I am a stickler for having water with us, especially in the heat our area endures during the summer months. Well, at this point in our day we had run completely out of water. I told my children in a joking tone that because we ran out of water we would have to go to their favorite drive thru and get their favorite slushy drinks. Their eyes got wide and as I grinned at them they all began to jump around happily at this very special treat.
So, we all went to bed last night exhausted after lots of hugs and kisses. I know that I could only enjoy our day due to God's intervention in my life! I really, really, really thought that I was nothing like those stay at home moms who care too much about a clean home and let the more important things slip by over the years. But in fact, that was me all over. I am so grateful for God's concern for our family and I am thankful for what he is doing in our family!

Though my house be messy, my family is joyful and filled with peace!!!
