I recently interviewed Ed Dunlop, creator and author of The Terrestria Chronicles. We carry many of his books in the Schoolhouse Store and you can view them here.
(Wishing Ed "Happy Birthday!" also as today is his birthday!)
Give us a general overview of your company and the products you sell through the Schoolhouse Store.

Cross & Crown Publishing produces The Terrestria Chronicles, a young adult allegory series in a medieval setting. The series was written to show young readers (and their parents) the wonder of living as a child of the King of kings, the Lord Jesus Christ. The study guide, Visits to Terrestria, is now used by many families as an aid to family devotions.
Tell us an interesting fact or story about your company.
Cross & Crown was started as an experiment. By the time I had finished writing the sixth book, The Golden Lamps, I still did not have a publisher for the series, even though I have 17 other books published with four different publishing houses.
I put the first six Terrestria books into E-Book format on a single CD and sold them in my meetings in southern California. The response from customers was tremendous and in just three weeks we sold more than $1,800 worth of E-Book CDs. I used that money to start printing the entire series, all without borrowing a dime!
How can your products best benefit the homeschooling community?
Homeschooling is all about training your own children to love and serve the Lord. The Terrestria series was written for that same purpose: to encourage young people to love and serve their King, and to teach them to guard their hearts for Him. The Terrestria books give parents the opportunity to discuss with their own children the most vital elements of the Christian walk. Cross & Crown is committed to publishing books that encourage young people to love their God and their country.
Which of your products are you most excited about?
It’s hard to select just one or two particular books, but I suppose my personal favorite is Book Four, The Crown of Kuros. “Kuros” is a New Testament Greek wording meaning supremacy or lordship. This book challenges the reader to surrender his/her own life to the King of kings. Another favorite would be Book Seven, The Great War, which gives an overview of the Book of Revelation and chronicles the return of the King.
We are right now in the process of releasing a new Terrestria series, Tales from Terrestria, which will consist of seven additional titles.
What new items can we expect to see from your company in the next year?
The first two titles in the new series, The Quest for Thunder Mountain and The Golden Dagger, were just released in the past couple of weeks. In 2009, we expect to release three new books. The Isle of Dragons, which illustrates the power and the dangers of peer pressure and the strength of parental love, will come out in late January or February. Return of the Dagger, a sequel to the Golden Dagger, will be released later in the year. We are also making plans to release a book for teens, Phantom Pilot, the story of an American F-4 pilot shot down over North Vietnam who serves time as a POW in the infamous “Hanoi Hilton.” Two Vietnam veterans collaborated with us on this project: A-7 pilot Lt. Commander Bob McLester, who trained in flight school under presidential candidate John McCain; and Capt. James Hickerson, who endured six years as a POW in Hanoi.
If you are looking for a new series to introduce to your children (or even for yourself!), I would recommend you take a look at Ed Dunlop's books.
