Hi Poetess,
It's me again, I am answering your comments. A entry is still the only way I know to get in touch with you. Do you have e-mail?
I can't tell my age on a blog, but if you have an e-mail, my mom said that I can tell you my age if it is just you and me.
Yes, I have heard of Janette Oke, I LOVE her books. I think my favorite is "Heart of the Wilderness", but I don't think that she wrote that with anyone else. I also like Martha Finley, well, the books based on the characters in her books. I haven't read the original books of Elsie Dinsmore.
I read your story. It was really good. I'm not that good with short stories, but I don't think I could write a long book either. I think it would be hard to write a 200 or more page book.
Thanks for the tips you gave me. I hope that we can keep in touch.(Somehow )
Well, I hope to talk to you soon!
Emily
Dear Poetess,
This is the only way I know how to get in touch with you since you don't have a blog. I thought that you might check back here again, so I decided to post an entry.
I'm not really sure what I want to do with my life. I might want to be a writer, but I think that I would back down from my books being published. I would be afraid of rejection. I have also considered something in the science field because I enjoy that about the same as writing.
Did you say that you are writing a book? If so, do you have any tips? I start a story, or book, and then I just seem to give up because I look at the books that I read, and then I just say, "I'll never be able to finish this and make it as long and interesting as these other books." Most of my books are based on things that have happened, or I wish could happen, to me. The characters in my books are usually based on my friends, I just change the names, and sometimes the ages. The main character in most books that I write are supposed to be me.
I haven't really posted any of my stories on here becuase I haven't finished any of them. If I post one on here, I don't think it would be very good to let people read some of the story and not the rest.
Well, I will TRY to get on it.

I think I have writer's block.....or something like that.
I can't think of ANYTHING to write about. I picked up my notebook the other day to try to write some more of my story, but I only wrote a few sentences, and then erased them. I don't know how well I will be able to do this blog because I like writing LONG stories, like for an actual book, and that isn't the best thing to put on a blog because it would be the LONGEST ENTRY EVER. My aunt gave me the idea of the story that I am writing now, but I am a little stuck, and I don't even know that my story would be interesting. Well, I have to do an informal essay, but I have NO idea what to do it on. It is supposed to be written to entertain. Have any ideas!?!

The Open Book (Chapter eight) (TNT)
But first, we need to grab some supplies from my house, follow me. Destiney said.
They ran to her house, and they saw her parents car. What, they are not supposed to be home yet! Destiney said. We have no time, we'll climb up the window then I gues. she said. Lead the way. James said. They climbed up the tree, and bust the window open. Won't they notice a broken window? James asked. Yeah, but we have bigger problems! she said.
She grabbed her pocket knife, duck tape, gist wrap, binoculars, and some water. "Knock, knock" they heard on her door.
Is anyone here? her mom asked. They jumped out the window and ran as fast as they could. They were finally near the Smith's house. they hid in the bushes and said, So, what do we do now? James asked. Follow me. she said. Are we winging it? he asked. Umm, I think we have to, so I just brought this, incase! she said.

Step Into a New Season by Emily--indigobunting14
This was an essay that I had to do for school about two months ago, but I just now decided to post it. I have to write another essay over thanksgiving break. I have NO idea what to do it on though. I'm supposed to write an informal essay that is written mostly to entertain, not to inform. (Doesn't go along with the name very well does it?)
Step into a new season

Fall is a most enjoyable time of the year. With bright colors all around, coolness in the air, fresh smells of harvest, and excitement of another season to enjoy. People have their own way of how to delight in a new season, walking in the woods, sitting on the porch with a good book in hand, or just standing outside using each of their senses to take in as much of the season as possible. I personally like to do all of them, and that is just what I had in mind for this beautiful day after school.
“Mom, can I go for a walk in the woods?” I asked excitedly. Mom looked up from the delicious smelling chocolate chip cookies she was baking, “Sure, just take the dogs with you.” “Okay, I will,” I hollered hurrying down the hall. I opened the closet door to get my light blue jacket, made a quick stop to get my camera, sketchbook and a pencil, and then quickly ran outside. “Sesna,” I called to my Australian Shepherd puppy, who came scampering to me, along with my Border Collie, Cheyenne, wagging her tail intently. I reached down to rub them, and then stood up and started toward the path in the woods, the dogs trailing close behind me.
Not far into the woods, I heard the leaves crunching behind me; I looked around to see my black and white cat, Libby. “Hey, Libby,” I called softly. As I kneeled to pick her up, she rubbed her soft, furry head gently against my face. I decided to carry her with me, so I put my sketchbook under my arm, put the pencil in my pocket, and resumed walking. When we reached the woods, I looked around slowly to take in the details of the picturesque scene that lay before me, a leaf-covered path surrounded by large, towering trees splashed with color. I set Libby down, carefully retrieved my camera from the black case that was resting at my side, and snapped a picture. Returning the camera to its case, I picked up Libby, and we continued to my favorite spot in the woods where I like to draw and reflect. There I saw some beautiful yellow wild flowers that I wanted to sketch. I sat down, got out my pencil, opened my sketchbook and promptly began to draw. When I finished, I looked at the picture and then back at the flowers. Pleased with my outcome, I stroked Sesna and Cheyenne, gathered my things, and headed for home, thinking about what to do tomorrow to enjoy the new season.
Fall, being not as hot as summer, but not as cold as winter, is a delightful time of year. Smells, sounds, sights, tastes, and touch, each contribute to making this new season special and different from the others. Whether relaxing or working, walking or sitting, seeing or listing, how to enjoy the new season differs from person to person. As you can see, I like to do anything and everything I can to experience this new season.
So, how did I do? I haven't sent it to my aunt yet, so I don't really have a grade for it right now. I send all of my reports and things like that to her since she is a retired school teacher.

Hello! (By Emily--indigobunting14)
I am working on a story, but I have a hard time writing short ones! I tied writing short stories for little kids, but momma said that I would be better at writing novels for teens and pre-teens. I don't know, I wish that I could write more exciting stories, but when I try to write, I fill page after page. When I run out of ideas, I have about 10 pages, I'm writing my words close together, I don't really do paragraphs since their my rough drafts, and it wouldn't be good to end the story there. I have been thinking about what to be when I'm older. I thought that I might want to be a research tech. or something that includes science, but Momma said that I might want to be a writer. I am just afraid of rejection because I personally don't think that my stories are any good, and I am just writing them for fun. One thing I have noticed, is that I have a writer's imagination. I think of how I would like for things to be in my life, and I can seem to just write it down on paper.
I have to go, bye.

The Open Book (Chapter four) (TNT)
Wait, what do you mean happening AGIAN? Destiney asked. Well, wev'e heard it before, and mom always said it is the only time to go upstairs, because, Destiney inturuptted. Shh, it is near us! she said faintly.
The stomps came nearer and nearer. Destiney looked around a bit and then whispered; Wait, there is a window right there, a tree right next to it, climb out NOW boys. They did not hesitate, Destiney waited until both of the boys were out of the house, jumped out, grabbed the tree, book in hand, and they ran.
What do we do if it follows us? said Sam scarcely. Run faster! she said. They ran to her house, but just to grab her cell phone which she forgot to bring, then they were off agian. She was dialing 911, but she didn't know if the police-men could help her with her problem, she had no discription, our picture, our D.N.A sample, nothing but the where-abouts. She turned her head. It looks like a-a ten foot tall robot! Destiney said scarecly. Wait! said the robot like something.
