Now I want to talk about the title of my blog, "In the beginning... Genesis 1:1". I watch Ken Ham ministry videos, and he says this, many Christians are adding millions of years to the Bible, and I want to point out two reasons this can't be so.
The first reason is what the word day means in Genesis 1. See, in the original Hebrew grammar of the Bible, the word for day in Genesis 1 (and the rest of the Bible) is yom, and when yom is used with the words, evening, morning, and number in the Bible it means an ordinary day, and every time it is used in Genesis 1 it is with these words . And because God made everything over 6 days and rested for one, we get our 7 day week.
The second reason is this, in the late 1700s the idea of millions of years began to become common. Now the idea of evolution didn't come from dating methods, no, it came from the belief that the rock layers were laid down over millions of years. But, as soon as you've got that, you've got pain, killing, thistles, thorns, death, and extinction, before sin. Do you think that God would say that everything is very good and the world's full of thorns?
Because of our sin of disobeying God we no longer have a right to live with Him again in heaven. But because Jesus came He solved that problem. But the only way you can enter heaven through Him is saying you're sorry for your sins & start living for Him.
So please read this blog entry straight through, and thank God for His mercy. Thank You! |
