1849'ers

Posted in Stories
Once upon a time two men, Henry Hopkins and Charles McMicheal, from Kentucky, rushed to CA to get gold. Listen to this story.

Henry took his horse, Trever, along. He took a rope and tied it loosely around the horse's neck. He hung a basket from the rope.

After crossing rivers, climbing over the Rockie Mountians, and battling mosquitos, they finelly reached CA. Now they had the problem of getting back.

They found two lost sheep on the way, and took them with them. When they crossed the Mississippi River they were nearly robbed by outlaws. After a stiff fight the outlaws were captured and tied up. The outlaws were freed when they paid a $2 fee.

When Henry and Charles reached a Tenessee trading post whatever food and clothing that had not been lost was wet or dirty, they were starved, and the pistal and axe they had brought along were gone. So they were happy to see the trading post.

They got $800 for the gold, $6 when they swapped money with a man named Joe Thompson, and only $.50 for the sheep. Later they went on 2 more trips and got 100 pounds of gold.

That was some trip!

A Whole New World

Posted in Stories
I made up a country called Sassia. I located it between India and Somalia.I'll tell you about its history.

Soon after Noah's Flood, a people named the Eltarms crossed into Sassia from Oman. They were nomads who lived in stick and straw houses. They hunted elephants, bears, and whales. They somehow disappeared.

Then the Lerwart people lived in Sassia. They were also hunters and nomads. They used coal to heat their homes of earth, mud, and straw. They too, disappeared.

The first civilization to start in Sassia was the Polasiean civilization. They had a writing system, schools, glass windows, and running sinks and toilets. They did not totally disappear. The people that survived evolved into the Daryan civilization. They were known for being good at astronomy.

Then a people that evolved into the modern day Sassians arrived in Sassia. They were the Var people. They got permission from the Daryan king to build some villages. This is when a child called Me'vrue, or Reuben in English, was born.

Reuben was born into a poor, but happy family. Sometimes he had to rent work from other farmers to get a hand full silver coins for his family. He was kidnapped by Daryan outlaws three times. At age 19 he went to Europe to have so called ''college''. There he gave his life to Jesus.

Reuben married someone from a group hostile to the Sassians. He died of malaria.

At this time Sassia had taken on an empire. But arguing with the local kings gave the countries a chance to break away. And they did. A few years after Sassia drove the Daryans out of the country. They declared themselves a country in 1776.

Many years later a Communist Party from the Soviet Union took control of Sassia. They destroyed churches and temples, Bibles and Korans, and picked on Christians, Buddhists, Muslims and others alike. After 10 years the Sassian Nationalist Army rebeled and civil war broke out. After several months of terrorism, the Communists withdrew.

Sassia is a very industrious country. I could go on for millions of years,  but I think I'll stop here.

Animals! Animals!

Posted in Stories

Me and my sister play with a made up world we named Julys. Here are some of the animals and locations of this enchanting world.

Sammy,(pictured above) is the right hand man for Tim.(At the end here is a picture of Tim) Despite his stern and quick to anger reputation, he settles quarrels well, is kind, and defends his ''people'' against their enemies, the Mountaineers.

Purpley is a girl superhero.Made up by my sister, Butterfly, Purpley has had a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig roll in Julys tales. Her sidekicks are Floppy and Miss Ladybug, and her villian is Clarabel, whoose sidekick is Piglet.(Apologies to Disney and A. A. Milne)

This is Butterfly with Otis and Sally.

This is the Burning Bay. It is a group of islands surrounded by very hot waters. We used to use toy knights for natives, but we don' t anymore.

This is the Julys River. The Julys Dam is the most popular place here.

Tim is the real ruler of Julys. He is calmer and much more mild then Sammy so Sammy often gets more power then he is allowed to have.

(P. S. Floppy, Miss Ladybug, Clarabel, and Piglet do not have pictures posted.)
