sooooo. You are reading the Screwtape Letters, huh? Awesome book. It really makes ya think! I still haven't read the whole thing for myself but almost every night Arabella comes out and read something from it or one of C.S.Lewis' other books. She has an awesome book called "A Year With C.S.Lewis" which ROCKS!!! I totally recomend it!

You pointed out a very interesting point and it's something I am planning on doing more on later. I believe that the spiritual War between good and evil is not God against Satan for the power of authority over mankind and the final victory, which was sealed at the Crucifixion. Good and evil wage war over the hearts of man, over our motives and our lusts and passions. It's a war to uphold righteousness and to remain faithful to God. God is indeed in ultimate control but whether we follow Him or Satan is the thing which the Spirit of God and the vices of evil fight over. Satan was doomed when Christ rose from the dead but whether or not man will cling to God's promise of eternity is a thing believers fight for, with God's strength. The War is not about who wins in the end, but who is there standing with the loser in the deepest pit of Hell.
