Thursday, January 18, 2007 - Ancient History - How much do you know?

We just started our studies of ancient history using Mystery of History, as well as lots of living books, and of course, the Bible. What I have discovered over the last couple of weeks is just how *little* I know about ancient history. Actually, I don't recall EVER learning ANY ancient history during my public school education. So I'm learning right along with my girls, but trying to get a little jump start, so I at least *appear* to know something. :-) How much do you know about ancient history? Take this quiz about one of the first civilizations to see. :-)

We studied Ancient History last year when my dd was in 5th grade and we learned SO much! It was awesome how much she still remembers. We used Living Books that helped us in learning with wonderful stories as well as recipes and hands on crafts.

Oh gorgeous blocks and wonderful links. I will check them out soon and have to come back to do it. Bad sinus headache for today, even cancelled school. DH had to take the kids to soccer and my glasses to the eye doctor for repair. Thank the Lord for DH's who help out. Will look forward to quizes. Busy weekend with soccer, derby car race and CCD. Praying all is well with you and the family.
Love,
Me

Um... I didn't learn history in high school. We took multiple guess tests and, get this, we reviewed the exact test the day before the actual test. We had color wheels. A was red, B was blue. There was a recorded disembodied voice reading the question. The answers were on an overhead. We were given time to adjust our color wheel. The voice would say, "Ready, respond." And, we all held up our color wheels. We were able to "review" the whole test the day before and I always got a 100%. With extra credit my class grade was > 110%. DUMB!
