Growing Two Sunny Flowers in this Garden of Life

Friday, May 16, 2008 - Creek School

Every spring, when we are anxious for a change of scenery, we make it a point to walk the 1/2 mile down to the creek and do our schoolwork creekside.

The rule is, 10 minutes of schoolwork...

DD8 reading Spider Jane by Jane Yolen.

DD10 reading Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Doyle.

And then 10 minutes of...

Playing in the water...

or picking flowers...

Thank you, Lord, for lending me your two dear children and allowing me to homeschool them.

Oh how i wish we were just a 1/2 mile from your creek too! How fun! What a great "bargain" to have struck with them!
Hope your weekend is relaxing, or productive... whichever you need most. LOL

Hugs.

Creek school sounds fun, it's beautiful where you are in the spring, so very green, to me it's near blinding. I love the photo's of the girlies too, they are growing up ! All is well here, same as always. Little guy is now an official boy scout with his arrow of light badge. He loves his new title and troop. Sweet Pea is as adventurous as ever, she is determined to spend her entire summer diving in the deep end for diving sticks. And Baby girl is still singing in the choir at church, Father has allowed them all to sing from the balcony soon and she is excited to do that. I'm still decluttering, hanging curtains, quilting and prereading the independent readers for next year. That moth is gorgeous and huge ! Take care, praying for you always,
Susan Marie

I am a soon to be mom of 4. I have been homeschooling for 2 years the oldest is 6. I have stumbled onto your webpage and I think your methods of schooling are awesome. I want to unit study but it is a little scary for me. I want the Bible to be incorporated as much as possible. Your creation stuff looks great! If you have any insight for me, it would be appreciated. I want life to be school, not school to be life. thanks
