My current devotional right now is Amy Verlennich's Devotional For The Disorganized. http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/DandelionSeeds/437683/ I have incorperated this into our copywriting for Bible. I printed out the Create in Me a Clean Heart scripture posters, placed them in a sheet protector, and each Monday pull out last weeks verse and file it away in my Devotional Binder. I keep the current weeks devotional in my Home Management Binder with a few other things I need under my Devotional Tab. This keeps my HMB managable, I cannot function around one of those 3" 3 ring binders with a D-Ring, and cannot afford a new one right now. Just a note, Staples has 3" 3 ring binders with O-Rings made out of durable, flexable plastic for $2-$3 more than the white ones with cardboard inside. Those cardboard binders just don't survive long around here, so it is worth a one time added expense of $2-$3. I also signed up for the Staples Teachers Discount and points card, so that will help with the expense and points towards other purchases.
This is week 41 of Create in Me a Clean Heart, Hands To Work, Heart To God. Reminds me of an old saying I used to hear old people say (well they were old to me then), "Give your heart to Jesus, because your behind is mine". I often wonder, maybe if we spent more time turning our children's heart to Jesus, maybe we would spend less time on their behind. So, now I am off to read my devotional.
Thank you Amy for sharing this with all of us, I cannot tell you how many times I have turned to this over the past 2-3 years. In fact I have week one "Trusting God" hanging in my cabinet above my washer with a picture of my 20yo son, currently serving with Arkansas National Guard and stationed in Baghdad, Iraq.
Gee, as I put in my Simple Woman's Daybook this morning, I knew I needed to pray before opening my mouth again, guess I need to pray over my hands being connected to a willing heart-OUCH!!! Thanks again Amy!!! |
