Ps 1
1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
KJV
Short and simple this week. Want to be blessed? Want to be under the wing of His protection?
It is like the old children's hymn says, "Oh be careful little feet where you go". When we start to walk with sinners, sooner or later we will sit down and then eventualy get comfortable. Stay away from the counsel of the ungodly.
Meditate on His word day and night, delight in it. What constant refreshing? You must freshen the water by reading the word. If there is no new word coming in you will become stale, just as a pool of water will get stagnant and stale with no new inflow. Just as important is outflow, you must have the new flowing in, so you can have some outflow. If there is nothing going out, it will just keep filling up. Of course, with the word if you have constant infow, you cannot help but have outflow.
I don't know about anyone else, but I am gonna 'fess up, I am a little stale right now. I have been focusing on important things true, but not on the most important thing, spending time with my Lord and Savior. So that is why this one is short, I am headed to spend some time with Him.
