Sin is like Kryptonite, The One Ring, and Pirates

This Article was published in SUPERMAN and SMALLVILLE Articles

I have not been on my blog for over a week because I have been dealing with some problems, plus we have been assigned days. I have learned a few things this week. My eyes have been opened to some things that I didn’t realize before.

We as Christians are like Kryptonians. Their weakness is Kryptonite, ours is Sin. They have a defense against Kryptonite: Lead, we have one too: the Bible.

The Lead conceals and contains the power of the Kryptonite. The Bible, along with God, helps us conceal and contain our sin and helps us overpower it. And we come out as healthy as or more so then we went in, but not without scars sometimes.

But as with the Kryptonite it cannot be destroyed, just like our sin cannot be destroyed, but you will know how to handle and contain it, and with God’s help you can overcome it.

Just like the One Ring in The Lord of the Rings, sin "wants to be found". It will stay hidden for a while, but it "wants to return to his master", it "hears its masters call".

Satan has been trying since the beginning of time to make sure he has all the power like Sauron. Sauron knew that if someone who could control the One Ring he would be gone. Just like Satan knows deep down that he doesn’t actually have any power and he knows that his power will be taken away from him someday. So he will try to use up as much of it as he can.

I have been reading the Simarillion. It has a lot of Biblical truths in it. I would greatly encourage everyone to read it. It is just like Satan hating God and trying to overpower him to do what he wanted. Melkor, (which is like Satan) hates Iluvatar (God) because he is the maker, creator of all. And just like Satan he wants to become him.

And just like Gollum we hate and love our sin/flesh nature as he hates and loves the Ring. Our sin/flesh nature wants to be in control of us and if we let it, it will ruin us. And how can we be what God wants us to be if we are fleshly sinners? We have to condition our flesh to be under submission to the power that God has given us to help us defeat the sin/flesh nature and Satan.

Our sin/flesh nature is like the Ring when anyone puts on the Ring they are invisible and they can see a world that normally you wouldn’t see just like when we wear our sin nature we cannot see the way God has designed for us.

And we have to throw our sin over board, like in Pirates of the Caribbean when the Black Pearl is chasing them. They have to get rid of everything that is weighing them down to get far away from them. That is how we should be with sin: throwing it overboard. It will only hurt us the longer we hold on to it. We have to let it go and be free. And just like when they turn the ship and surprise the Black Pearl, Satan does not expect us to give up our sin to God and when we do he will try his hardest to throw another sin at you that you are going to struggle with.

We will always have sin. It is a part of life. Ever since the garden, humans have been struggling with sin. IT WILL NOT GO AWAY. We have the choice to repel that sin or embrace it. We often more times than not embrace it and then we have repercussions that we have to deal with that are not easy. It is hard and it hurts. And we will always have to deal with the sin in the past.

Satan knows what your old sins are and he knows your fear that you will not want your children to sin the same way you did, so he will try every which way to make sure that they will commit that same sin or a worse one. He doesn’t forget your sins, he wants them to come back and haunt you forever. He lost you to Christ and he will try his HARDEST to get your children. He doesn’t want them lost to Christ.

Your firstborn will be attacked the worst. God wants the first of everything, so naturally Satan wants them too. That is why he is Satan in the first place, he wanted to be first in heaven and he wanted to be like God. So naturally he wants everything that God has and everything God wants.

Please be encouraged by this post. You may be going through a tough time, but if you trust in God and let him guide and help you, you can overcome this sin area in your life!

I completely agree with you. Sin is exactly like the One Ring. There is only one place it can be destroyed.

Keep up the good work!

What I Believe

I am a Biblical Believer and don’t conform to the denominations of today’s world. I am a non-fiction Believer. That means that God has already written my life story and I don’t want to change it by doing what I want, but follow it perfectly by His Word and Guidance. I will follow that plan alone. I will not make my own plans, but follow where He leads me.
I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and love Him as my Savior. I want to live wholly for Him and give my everything to Him.
I believe in Jesus Christ. That He is the Only Son of God. That He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father unless through Jesus Christ.
I believe Jesus Christ was beaten, crucified, and rose again in three days. I believe that He died for my sins, and washed them away. I believe that He is coming back for his people some day soon.
I believe that a marriage consists of a MAN and a WOMAN. I believe that the husband should be the head of the household and that all decisions lie ultimately with him. I believe that a woman should be a keeper of her home. I believe she does not need to get a job outside of her home and out of the authority of her husband.
I believe in a full quiver, and that God will give me the desires of my heart. I believe that the woman should stay home and raise her children in the LORD.
I am praying and waiting for God to bring the man of my dreams. I can’t wait to get married and have my own family. I am excited that I can be a stay at home mom and keep my home. I want to be a Homemaker and make my home to be a haven for my family to learn to be Biblical and Godly.
I hope to be an encouragement and teach Biblical things to all who stop by my blog and be encouraged and learn from others.
