My Thoughts on the 27 Health Myths

This Article was published in The Makers Diet

I posted about the 27 myths about health that is wrong. I thought I would give my opinion about these.

1. Stay out of the sun.
We are in the sun a lot, with the garden, goats (hopefully horses next year), riding bikes, and just playing. A lot of my family members get tans without a sunburn.
I have heard this about it being good that you are in the sun. I have also heard that the reason a lot of people get skin cancer is from really bad sunburns, prolonged sunburn, meaning getting them all the time, and from tanning beds. I don’t think all tanning beds are bad though. I knew a person who had skin condition which breaks out a lot that uses a tanning bed to help her skin in the winter.
All in all spend as much time in the sun and dirt as you can. In “The Maker’s Diet” they talk a lot about being in the dirt to keep a healthy gut. I could go really deep in about the gut. It is the most essential part of your body. If it doesn’t work right you could be in big trouble. I will go into this more later

2. Go to bed after midnight.
I actually had never heard this before. It makes sense though!!
This one is hard for me to accomplish. We usually don’t go to bed til around 1:30am. Although most of this week we went to bed around 12am or 12:30am. Only on the nites we watch SMALLVILLE is the nites we stay up late!! So I am going to try to start going to bed before midnite, so I don’t age before my time!!
Guess it brings new meaning to “Beauty Sleep”, huh??

3. Never let them see you sweat.
Never heard “never let them see you sweat”.
Sweating cleanses your body, just like going to the bathroom.             And for those of you who want to lose weight, the way to get rid of your fat cells, is to sweat or go to the bathroom. That is why when you workout you sweat!!
About deodorant: We do not use any that have aluminum. That is kinda of dumb to use it anyway. I mean you want metals going straight into your blood stream from your glands?? I don’t think so.
We actually don’t cook or bake out of anything aluminum. If we did it would cook right into our food….EWW!!!! We have even tried to not drink pop out of aluminum cans. And do not set aluminum on cement. It is very bad. It will deteriorate it, causing it to leak in to whatever you would in it.
We have gotten rid of all the aluminum in the house. We even had to get rid of our pressure cooker because it was aluminum based.
So make sure to get any cookware and deodorant for aluminum before cooking or buying.

Some of the stuff in the book I didn’t know, but I did know quite a bit about some of the stuff. It is entirely based on the Bible and Biblical principles that the Israelites used to live for at least a hundred or more years. Just because the times have gotten later, doesn’t mean we can’t live that long or like them.

I just heard of a lady in South America that lived to be a whopping 116 years old. WOW!! She had lived to see like 5 generations of her family.
I hope that you will do you and your family’s health a favor: Get this book and read it!! It is chock full of things you need to know. I actually rented it from the library; so if you don’t want to buy it yet, go rent it. I know that I want to purchase this book for my personally library!!

Wow, very interesting. I know there is Vitamin D in Sunshine, my Dad told me to take the boys outside without sunscrean for like 15-20 minutes a day! They don't burn, they just get tan, so I quit using sunscreen unless they're going to be out ALL day in the pool or something. As for sweat??? I do a ginger bath that makes me sweat! It is definatly good to sweat the toxins out of your body! It all comes down to, if you don't sweat, you get sick! Real sick! Aluminum, I was drinking Mountain Dew at work one time (at the Bank) and it started tasting really funny. I looked and there was a paperclip in it. It tasted so bad like metal I couldn't drink it. so what does that tell ya??? YUCK! I guess my pressure canner, I'm not too worried about since the food is in jars when I use it. I don't ever use a presure canner to cook meat with like my Mom use to....
Anyway, it's always good for those little reminders on Health and Wellness! I have people tell me, "Well You have to die from something," To me that is a very poor attitude, why on earth would you want to get some horrible disease and die a slow death when you could live a healthy life, feeling great and die when it's God's time for you to die??? Well I could keep going, on and on.....

Very good information. I suppose we will always live in a world where people try to change what God has given us to live by. If we get to know him and His character, and know that He tells us these things because He loves us and wants us to live long, healthy lives, we will take these things into account. Unfortunately, we also live in a sinful world, where sin is all around us, and we see or experience it in some ways.
I am glad you are learning things that will help you and your family in the future!
Be Blessed!

We do not use deodorant with aluminum in it. Another thing we do not use is regular toothpaste with flouride in it. We use a kind of toothpaste called xyliwhite. It has xylitol in it. I never thought of aluminum bakeware being bad for you. I will have to tell my Mom that one!

What I Believe

I am a Biblical Believer and don’t conform to the denominations of today’s world. I am a non-fiction Believer. That means that God has already written my life story and I don’t want to change it by doing what I want, but follow it perfectly by His Word and Guidance. I will follow that plan alone. I will not make my own plans, but follow where He leads me.
I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and love Him as my Savior. I want to live wholly for Him and give my everything to Him.
I believe in Jesus Christ. That He is the Only Son of God. That He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father unless through Jesus Christ.
I believe Jesus Christ was beaten, crucified, and rose again in three days. I believe that He died for my sins, and washed them away. I believe that He is coming back for his people some day soon.
I believe that a marriage consists of a MAN and a WOMAN. I believe that the husband should be the head of the household and that all decisions lie ultimately with him. I believe that a woman should be a keeper of her home. I believe she does not need to get a job outside of her home and out of the authority of her husband.
I believe in a full quiver, and that God will give me the desires of my heart. I believe that the woman should stay home and raise her children in the LORD.
I am praying and waiting for God to bring the man of my dreams. I can’t wait to get married and have my own family. I am excited that I can be a stay at home mom and keep my home. I want to be a Homemaker and make my home to be a haven for my family to learn to be Biblical and Godly.
I hope to be an encouragement and teach Biblical things to all who stop by my blog and be encouraged and learn from others.
