27 Health Myths that are wrong. Excerpts from The Maker's Diet

This Article was published in The Makers Diet

The following Myths from “The Maker’s Diet” by Jordan Rubin.

It is an amazing story of how we need to get back to homeopathic remedies rather than doctors and hospitals. God has given us everything we need on earth and in our bodies. The key to getting health and not getting sick is to keeping the body in working order with what God has given our bodies to work right and the natural things that He made.

There are 27 of these myths, so I will be posting 3 every one of my blog days!!

I will also be posting what we do or believe about these Myths.

I have already posted Myths 1-3 4-6 7-9

Myths 10-12

10. Get tattoos.
Scripture warns against piercing the skin. (See Leviticus 19:28)
Body piercing and tattoos can easily introduce potentially deadly infections and toxic foreign substances into the body and bloodstream. Some health providers warn that even tiny puncture wounds might block important electrical nerve impulses just under the skin.

 11. Get all of your immunization shots.
Despite massive media and government public relations campaigns to the contrary, certain childhood immunization injections may pose considerable risks to children. Most adults today received one to five immunizations in childhood, but schoolchildren today receive an average of twenty-two or more immunizations---most of them administered while the brain and nervous systems are still developing!
An epidemic of juvenile autism and other neurological and developmental disorders sweeping through America’s school age children generally coincides with the introduction of certain mandatory immunizations. A growing body of scientific and medical research appears to link this dangerous health trend to these childhood immunizations.
Vijendra K. Singh, Ph.D., and eminent neuorimmunologist from the Department of Biology and Biotechnology Center at Utah State University, hypothesized in research published internationally “that a measles virus-induced autoimmune response is a causal factor in autism, whereas HHV-6 via co-infection may contribute to pathophysiology  of the disorder. Although as yet unproven, I think it is an excellent working hypothesis to explain autism, and it may also help us understand why some children show autistic regression after the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) immunization.”
Dr. Singh’s findings seem to confirm the results of a similar study published in the Lancet in 1998 by Dr. Andrew Wakefield and co-workers of the Royal Free Hospital in London, indicating a possible link between MMR vaccination, Crohn’s disease of the bowel, and autism. Most states allow philosophical and religious expemptions from mandatory immunization programs should you decide this is the way to go.

12. Travel in airplanes often.
Some people who spend alot of time at high altitudes experience problems with infertility and oxygen production. The body adapts well to high altitudes for short periods of time, but not for long periods. Animals dwelling at heights of thirteen and fourteen thousand feet have much more difficulty conceiving and instinctively return to lower pastures for breeding. Some researchers believe the atmospheric pressures and radiation to which airplane travelers are exposed are the equivalent of hundreds of CAT scans and pose the greatest oxidative stress on the human body. (Who wants to be trapped in a small room with hundreds of sneezing, coughing people?)

Commented by TheLordsDaughter

Those things are SO true! I had not read that book, but I had read a few similar things (plus a lot of other related things) in a book on Vaccines and Nourishing Traditions. The last is by Sally Fallon and Mary Enig. It is very interesting.

Thank you for posting on my blog! Come and see me soon.

What I Believe

I am a Biblical Believer and don’t conform to the denominations of today’s world. I am a non-fiction Believer. That means that God has already written my life story and I don’t want to change it by doing what I want, but follow it perfectly by His Word and Guidance. I will follow that plan alone. I will not make my own plans, but follow where He leads me.
I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and love Him as my Savior. I want to live wholly for Him and give my everything to Him.
I believe in Jesus Christ. That He is the Only Son of God. That He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father unless through Jesus Christ.
I believe Jesus Christ was beaten, crucified, and rose again in three days. I believe that He died for my sins, and washed them away. I believe that He is coming back for his people some day soon.
I believe that a marriage consists of a MAN and a WOMAN. I believe that the husband should be the head of the household and that all decisions lie ultimately with him. I believe that a woman should be a keeper of her home. I believe she does not need to get a job outside of her home and out of the authority of her husband.
I believe in a full quiver, and that God will give me the desires of my heart. I believe that the woman should stay home and raise her children in the LORD.
I am praying and waiting for God to bring the man of my dreams. I can’t wait to get married and have my own family. I am excited that I can be a stay at home mom and keep my home. I want to be a Homemaker and make my home to be a haven for my family to learn to be Biblical and Godly.
I hope to be an encouragement and teach Biblical things to all who stop by my blog and be encouraged and learn from others.
