"He said he could do a better job than God!!" A Thankful Heart

This Article was published in Reflections of a 17 year old girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

Here is a post I have had typed up for awhile, just hasn't been the right time to post, til now. Since Thanksgiving was Thursday, here is a post about Thankfulness.

I fell off my bike a couple months ago and I was telling my Super friend about it before she left me for 2 WHOLE WEEKS, with no phone or Internet!! in September. And since she was gone I didn’t get to talk to her on her birthday!!

After I was done telling her about my Houdini act, she told me of a time when she was about 13 that she was riding her bike down a hill and she fell and broke her nose. After they went to make sure nothing was extremely wrong, her mother took her to a plastic surgeon make sure her nose was healed right. When they got there and my Super friend went in to the surgeon, and he told her, “I can make your nose better than it was before.”

When the appointment was over and they were in the car, my Super friend told her mother that she didn’t want to have anything done to her nose. When her mom asked why she said,  “He said that he could make my nose better than God.”

That is a well-said statement, especially from a 13 year old. I never thought about it like that. I just always thought that plastic surgery was a waste of money. I think that many people just don’t think about the fact that plastic surgeons think that they can be like the Creator.

We, as humans, always think that we can do better than what God has already done. We think that we need more than what God has given us.
It is because we are an unthankful race. We are always wanting more than what we have.

I found the following verses on Thankfulness:

    Psalm 107:1-3
“Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
        His faithful love endures forever.
Has the LORD redeemed you? Then speak out!
Tell others He has saved you from your enemies.
For He has gathered the exiles from many lands,
from east to west, from north to south.”

    Psalm 138:1-3
    “I give thanks. O LORD, with all my heart;
I will sing your praises before the gods.
I bow before your holy Temple as I worship.
I will give thanks to your name
for your unfailing love and faithfulness,
because your promises are backed
by all honor of your name.
When I pray, you answer me;
you encourage me by giving me the strength I need.”

    Philippians 4:10-14
“ How grateful I am, and how I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know that you have always been concerned for me, but for a while you didn’t have the chance to help me. Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to get along happily whether I have much or little. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need. But even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty.”

    Colossians 3:15-17
“And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are all called to live in peace and always be thankful.
Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts and make you wise. Use His words to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, all the while giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”

    1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
“Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

Most of the time we take everything we have for granted and want more of the things that in a few months or so we will just start taking them for granted too and we will want more of something else.
God has already given us all that we need. If we need something else then, “God shall supply all our needs according to His riches in heaven.”
We need to be thankful for all we have. We need to be content with all that God has given us. Because we are blessed with everything we have NOW!!
I am going to start being more thankful for all I have and for what is about to be given to me, bcause God already knows what I need and want and he will provide it for me.

Some things I am thankful for:

    Jesus, God, Salvation.

Times like Monday nite when Mom, Alatariel, Tigerlily, and I stay up til 1am and just talk.

My Dad who works hard to support us.

My Sibs and the joy they bring. Sometimes.

    My house.

    My extended family.

    My HSB friends.

For my parents allowing me to excess over SUPERMAN and SMALLVILLE!!

For the wonderful year we had and the year that we are about to have.

That our family has become closer with everyone.

That there has been no sickness or major injuries.

For the opportunity and the privilege to be homeschooled and not HAVE to go to public school.

Mom-for staying home to give us the above opportunity and giving up her sanity alot of the time to do it!!

    Alatariel-for being my best friend.

And everything else I can't think of!!

Thank you GOD!!

Bravo, Brava,
that was a very well written article that you have done! It opened my eyes!!! I never thought about plastic serguens thinking of it that way, but i'm not surprised at all!!! I always thought it was a waste of money and time to recover too. Now I did wear braces, does that count? a year or two out of almost four years the dentist that I had was a christian! Well, I must leave. Thanks for stopping by. I will ckeck in some time soon again. Five stars on this article! Two thumbs up! It inspires people to be thankful and realize that what you have is all you need, but at the same time it shows that if you pray with a faithful and doubtless heart God will provide it seeing it is acceptible for his will and purpose. lol. I felt like giving your blogpaper a score, or whatever you call it, lol. God Bless!

What I Believe

I am a Biblical Believer and don’t conform to the denominations of today’s world. I am a non-fiction Believer. That means that God has already written my life story and I don’t want to change it by doing what I want, but follow it perfectly by His Word and Guidance. I will follow that plan alone. I will not make my own plans, but follow where He leads me.
I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and love Him as my Savior. I want to live wholly for Him and give my everything to Him.
I believe in Jesus Christ. That He is the Only Son of God. That He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father unless through Jesus Christ.
I believe Jesus Christ was beaten, crucified, and rose again in three days. I believe that He died for my sins, and washed them away. I believe that He is coming back for his people some day soon.
I believe that a marriage consists of a MAN and a WOMAN. I believe that the husband should be the head of the household and that all decisions lie ultimately with him. I believe that a woman should be a keeper of her home. I believe she does not need to get a job outside of her home and out of the authority of her husband.
I believe in a full quiver, and that God will give me the desires of my heart. I believe that the woman should stay home and raise her children in the LORD.
I am praying and waiting for God to bring the man of my dreams. I can’t wait to get married and have my own family. I am excited that I can be a stay at home mom and keep my home. I want to be a Homemaker and make my home to be a haven for my family to learn to be Biblical and Godly.
I hope to be an encouragement and teach Biblical things to all who stop by my blog and be encouraged and learn from others.
