The Last One...I Promise!!

This Article was published in My Fillies, Estrella and Dulcy

First off…today is Mrs. Suarez’s birthday. So go on over to “Home Where They Belong” and wish her a happy birthday!!

Second…4evrHischild has picked the winners of the Haiku contest. Guess who won?? Yep, that’s right Timothy. I told Jocelyn that we should have bet on him winning and then she would have won. But we aren’t betting people, so Timothy wins and we don’t!!
But go over to Timothy’s blog, and tell him CONGRATULATIONS!!

OK…so this is my last horse post on The Daily Planet. Then the more theological, thoughtful posts will be back!!
I think I’m going to use: “SuperHorseSteader” for a username on Homesteadblogger. I liked "SuperHorseGirl", but Jocelyn thinks that one is too childish. Of course, she thinks she is an Elf too, so what does that tell you about what she thinks?? What you do think of those two?? Which one do you like?? I know I am being dumb about all of this, but I am drawing a blank on what to do.
Thank you for all your suggestions, they were really good. Now…I need to design a template and get that up. Oh boy!!

So the vet came yesterday…. he had a pretty bad diagnosis on Estrella. The reason she was limping: she had an abscess. Running nose: she has a respiratory virus.  All of the above: underfed. Bad temper: not trained right.
An abscess is when she stepped on something metal/sharp and got a puncture wound. Since her hoof is like a toenail, it can’t swell and push the sickness out. So it gets a sore and gets infected.  To fix that he had to cut off a lot of her hoof, then he had to put iodine, a drawing salve, and bandage it. He showed me how. It was pretty easy. The only thing I was worried about was her freaking out when I did it, b/c I don’t have any tranqs.
He gave her some shots: an antibiotic and tetanus. He had to tranq her too, b/c she wouldn’t let him put the bandage on and she was rearing up!! REALLY BAD!!

I think she was having a hard time b/c she had to stand there for so long, and she isn’t used to men. Also b/c she needs to be trained.

So the treatment: Abscess: I have to soak her foot in Epson salt water, then I have to bandage it up again. This is supposed go on for the next week. Then I am going to have him come out again and check on her and get her on a vaccination program.
She did really, really well today when I had to soak and bandage her. I was really surprised. I was expecting a fight but she let me soak her for 20min, and then bandage her. I was so happy she did soo well.
Respiratory virus: I have an oral antibiotic to give her with her food.
She ate everything in her bowl, so I was happy. She ate all her food with her medicine.
Underfed: The feed I am feeding them is very poor quality, so I have to get diff brand. He suggested: Nutrena SafeChoice. Grass Hay also.

I am kinda worried about the bill. I know it will be more than what I had originally thought. EEK!!

Well besides all that talk up there, they are both doing really well. Eating good, drinking good, being horsey, running and bucking all over the pasture. They are really good horses, just need some training and loving.

Well that is all for now about the horses. I will try to get my homestead blog up and running shortly. And…my homestead blog will not be only about the horses…but about living on the homestead here and life here.

OK…so I will not post more boring horse stuff for you all anymore. I will be posting theological, thoughtful, meaningful posts.

And…. I will be getting pics of them. I don’t have a digital camera, except for Mom’s phone and that doesn’t take very good pics. I will try to get one or borrow one and get pics up for you all!! I want pics too, for the Homestead blog. That would be a neat thing to do…put my own pics as my background/ template. Hmmm…. cool.

I think my next post will be about Caleb…he has been the sweetest, loving kid this past few weeks. I just love him to death. He really has been cute!! What do you think of that post??

God Bless and Keep You and Yours!! Take Care!!
Love

Yep, I know I post to many comments on jocelyn's blog, I really don't have a defence. It's weird how she get so many comments, you think she runs these other blogs, and then comes and comments on her real blog? Lol, I know it's time for a new blog, I got one writen and edited early this morning, but I never got to post it. Then I was gone all day, and I just got back at like 12:20. So now I'm going to post my new blog, and then you can come comment on it! I'll tell you what, I'll comment back to every comment you post on my blog, then we'll get more comments! ;p

As for the teasing, guys were meant to take it. :p

Jocelyn has a recipe for Lembas? Really? Will she share it...oh no! Now I'm turning into an Elf too. Blame it on your sister's horrible influence! JK!

You didn't win the haiku contest. I wanted everyone to win, but didn't have enough prizes. Your haiku was awesome and my daughter, who is also a horselover would certainly have picked it. Anyway, SuperHorseSteader is a great name for your new blog.

I think SuperHorseSteader sounds good, although I don’t really mind your horse posts on this blog. It’s fun to read about your interests and what’s going on in your life. But don’t let me stop you. I have two blogs too. :-) It sounds like you have some good ideas for upcoming posts.

Hello Amanda,
We have a goat and he has been "underfed" a couple of times. He usually climbs on top of his house because he is afraid of the rats. It is pretty funny. It sounds like your horses are doing good.
I hope you are having a good day. I would really like to get your opinion on my latest post: A Rose by any other name...
Love to hear from you,
Rose

I wish I had an older son so he could marry you one day. This horse owning thing is training you to be one responsible gal, I think that is more work than a child. He is 8 if you are willing to wait awhile. lol

Hey, I like your horse posts!

I couldn't imagine having to soak a horse's foot or bandage it. I can barely get my kids to keep a cool rag on their head when they have a high fever! But I can be mighty persuasive with a popsicle. :-)

It's been fun reading about your horse adventures. My best friend will be moving to a new house soon...and getting a horse for her daughter! So far, little Mia has been content with the saddle she got for Christmas. She is going to be ecstatic when she gets her horse!

Have a great day, my friend!

Love,
Marsha

What I Believe

I am a Biblical Believer and don’t conform to the denominations of today’s world. I am a non-fiction Believer. That means that God has already written my life story and I don’t want to change it by doing what I want, but follow it perfectly by His Word and Guidance. I will follow that plan alone. I will not make my own plans, but follow where He leads me.
I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and love Him as my Savior. I want to live wholly for Him and give my everything to Him.
I believe in Jesus Christ. That He is the Only Son of God. That He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father unless through Jesus Christ.
I believe Jesus Christ was beaten, crucified, and rose again in three days. I believe that He died for my sins, and washed them away. I believe that He is coming back for his people some day soon.
I believe that a marriage consists of a MAN and a WOMAN. I believe that the husband should be the head of the household and that all decisions lie ultimately with him. I believe that a woman should be a keeper of her home. I believe she does not need to get a job outside of her home and out of the authority of her husband.
I believe in a full quiver, and that God will give me the desires of my heart. I believe that the woman should stay home and raise her children in the LORD.
I am praying and waiting for God to bring the man of my dreams. I can’t wait to get married and have my own family. I am excited that I can be a stay at home mom and keep my home. I want to be a Homemaker and make my home to be a haven for my family to learn to be Biblical and Godly.
I hope to be an encouragement and teach Biblical things to all who stop by my blog and be encouraged and learn from others.
