History of Education in America part 1

    I was asked by Mother to do a post on the history of education in America.
Since it will take a while to get all my material I thought I would give you a sample of what is to come.
Here are some resources that I am going to be using:
    The Harsh Truth about Public School by Bruce Shortt
    The Heart of Wisdom Teaching Approach by Robin Sampson
    Dumbing Us Down By John Gatto
    Homeschool Vision of Victory by Vision Forum.
    TOS Winter 2006 “Bruce Shortt: A Passion for Homeschooling and The Harsh Truths about Public Schools”. By Lorrie Flem
    TOS Winter 2006-2007 “The Evidence is So Postive” By Brian D. Ray, PhD
    Onto the Yellow School Bus and through the Gates of Hell by Mary Hood.
    Elijah Company Catalog (now The Homeschool Market Place) By Chris Davis
    T he Right Choice: Homeschooling by Christopher Klicka
(Some of the above books/magazines can be purchased at The Old Schoolhouse Store)

    I am going to go over these resources to get a clear understanding of how education started in America. Even before Columbus.
    I am going to do a series of articles on this subject. If you have any resources that you have found with information that is relative to this, please share it with me.

I'm catching up on your posts…that sounds like quite a project! And a very interesting topic. I’m looking forward to it. All those resources sound great, and if I think of anything possibly useful, I'll let you know.
