Something I have been thinking about alot lately is getting married. I just have the God given yearning inside to be a wife, mother, and homekeeper of my own home, and very soon. I don’t have alot of time left here at home, but I am trying to make the most of it. I have been thinking of things I want in my home. How I want things to be, what I want to do. Many thoughts run through my mind as I live day by day in my home with my Mom as our homekeeper. I have been cooking alot lately, and when I am in the kitchen I dream of what my kitchen is going to be like, what dinners I will make, what dishes will I have, what cooking utensils, etc. I have started making a mental list of things I want in my kitchen, and the rest of my home. I really should put it on paper, though. Anyway... then I was in the barn and all the sudden I had this thought pop in my head: “Most parents save for a college fund... but I want my parents to save for my wedding/home fund.” It would be better spent money to buy me things for my home, then for me to go to college. I prob won’t need alot of money for my wedding because I want a simple wedding, but things I will want to furnish my home with is another story. Like I have to have a KitchenAid mixer. We got Mom one for Christmas, and I don’t know how we got along without one before. It is so easy to mix eggs for scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, cookie dough... I love it. A Pampered Chef Cheese knife, and stoneware. A food processor, iron skillets, etc. I want to use Shaklee for vitamins, cleaners, and laundry. They are natural. I want to use Partylite to decorate our home with. I want to use cloth diapers with the babies. Which means I should start making them now. There is so many things I want/need for my home that will make it much easier to be the wife/mom/homekeeper that I need to be. I need to make a hope chest to put things I will need in it. I don’t have one right now. Just my closet. Mom and I were talking about the above said thought... and she brought up the point that if I am courted, then we will have a year or so before we get married to get everything for our home. She said wouldn’t it be so wonderful if while I was being courted my betrothed would build our house exactly how I wanted it. It would mean so much more if I said I wanted an island in the kitchen and he built with his own hands, instead of going to a real estate agent and finding a house and saying, “Oh I think you would like this house.” He could say, “here is your island that you wanted. Exactly how you said. I built only for you.” That would mean the world to a girl who is going to get married. Then she would know that he was the one God had intended for her. I am so excited that I am going to get married to a man God has hand picked for me. I am praying everyday that I can be the best wife to him. I am going to make a list of things that I would like us to do as husband and wife, and as a family. I want to be prepared for my life ahead. I am still in my training ground now, and am in a great place to be trained for my life ahead. My mom is a great example of what a homekeeper should be, what a wife should be, what a mom should be. Sure she has her days, and I know I will too, but I pray that we can help each other when those days come. I am so thankful for the mother I have. God always does what is best for us, even when we don’t. I seriously can’t wait to be married. I love thinking of what my life ahead is going to be like. I have another post about Waiting for Husband for my next blog day. It correlates with this one. I hope you were encouraged to do all that you can before you get married. Your future spouse will appreciate it. As always, Thanks for stopping by "Daily" at the "Planet"!! ©AmandaDixon2007

That is so great that you are preparing for your future married life!! I think that you'll definitely be grateful for it later on. I know a lady who, when she got married, didn't know how to cook or do laundry or anything!! Now, she is training her daughters to be homekeepers so that they will be ready for their life when they get married.
Keep up the good work!! And remember to drench EVERYTHING in fervent prayer. :-)
God Bless,
<333 Sylvia

Well it sounds like you're on the right track for becoming a wife/mother/homekeeper. I think you will do a great job at all three!
I read your post about Caleb's B-day. Happy (belated) birthday to your little brother!
Love,

Hello SuperAngel,
Thank you for your comment….I’m sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you.
I love Gone with the Wind too…the costumes are incredible. I think my favorite of Scarlett’s is her green velvet curtain dress.
I enjoyed reading your post…I think about those things too, Kitchen Aid mixers are the very best! Ours is wonderful. My favorite is the sage green colored one.
Hope chests are such a wonderful tradition…I’ve started putting some things into mine, dishes, crocheted lace, baby blankets, silver…. I love the thought of saving things and collecting items for that special time when I’ll be creating my own home.
Thank you for the great post…
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Sincerely,
Brielle

I agree; skirts are much cooler than shorts. And I always feel so.... uncomfortable in shorts.
My Mama said that I can do SSA! :-)
I know what you mean about planning for your future life as a wife, mother, and homemaker. Mama said that she plans to buy things for my kitchen from Pampered Chef, (She has a few PC parties that her friends are doing to go to this year), and whenever I use, say, a certain knife or pot, I put it on a "list" of things I would like to have for my kitchen. I want a KitchenAid too! We've had ours for, oh goodness, a long time. I love it! :-)
I'm trying to increase my knowledge of herbs and healthy eating and such so I can treat my family's wounds, feed them, take care of them in natural ways.
I have a ways to go before I get married, since I'm only 14. But if my plans and desires go along with God's will for me, I'll be married by the time I'm 20 or so. :-)
Blessings,
Becca

Ok, well maybe saying gross, and handling blood are two different things. But, the blood on my blog wasn't gross, I black and whited it!
Yes, check and get back to me, I really want to do that.
Yeah, we need to talk about NJAO soon.
You did?
There are 7 books, so it takes a bit long to make all of them. And its Disney, so it takes them a long time to make a good movie. If you add all of the movies up with a 2 year time frame for each one, then it comes out to 2019, but with complications, it could turn out to be 2023 or around there. Maybe 2030, but I don't think so now. If it is 2019, I'll be 28!
Well maybe your blog was a star, becouse you didn't even have one when I started =D
Don't talk to me about that AZ, NM thing! ;)
What drivers permit post?
KY is the total thoroughbred kingdom! They have thousands of horses! Not that NM doesn't, but KY is horse kingdom! I can't find any stats, but KY probably has more horses then NM. Horses are THE business in KY.
It didn't make me mad. =D but the Lols are getting kinda crazy...

Yes, I have suddenly found myself dreaming about motherhood and wifehood alot over the past couple of months. I think about how I will decorate my kitchen (I think a country look), I wonder what my future husband's favorite foods will be, I wonder how many children God will bless me with, etc. But I am trying to focus on my character the most. I would rather be a cheerful, loving, submissive wife than have the most gorgous house on the planet. Of course, I know I can't change myself alone, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I have been reading your past posts tonight and I will comment on two others as well. (If I don't drop off to sleep first.)

Aww, what a great idea. I have an idea of what I want for my house too. It's a lot of fun! Hehe. I always said that when I get married and have a house of my own, I won't be too picky, but I will *really* want a big kitchen--my favorite room!
