I ain't no Leonardo Da Vinci, that's for sure...

This Article was published in Homeschooling Articles

OK... so I posted a pic of one of my drawings a couple weeks ago. I had quite a few people tell me that they thought it was really good. I KNOW I am not a very good artist, but I thought I would humor you all with some of my other drawings... Please don’t throw any tomatoes (please click the tomatoe link... it is HYSTERICAL!!)

Psalm 139:14 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well”

I thank God that He gave me the gifts I have. We can't be great in everything, huh??

Ok... now to my drawings. I started to draw back in 2004 when I went to a art class at the library. We drew a pic sort of like the one I posted a few weeks ago. So over the years, I have drawn about 15 pictures... so little I know in what 3 years. LOL!! We got a Canson sketch pad, a 3B Sanford Design Drawing 3800 pencil and a 6B Sanford Design Drawing 3800 pencil. The 3B pencil is for drawing your picture and the 6B is for darkening and shading. We also got a rubber eraser that I really like and an art sharpener. So it was a really good class.  The paper is actaully white. It is just the lighting that makes it looks ugly.

This one is Superman, of course. We had a Justice League coloring book, and I drew this off of that. Paulie really liked it cause it is so defined. You can kinda see my Batman drawing behind him. LOL!!

Here is one of his upper body closer.

Here is a Smallville High Crow. Its the school logo in Smallville. Joc actually drew one of these on my wall, but Mom didn't know and about fell on the floor when she saw it. It is huge!! So I washed it off a while back. There is still a bit of an out line of it though.

Here is a Lothlorien Leaf. Jocelyn painted this on our wall and that is what I used to base it on.

Here is one of the Moria Gate. I drew this off of our Lord of the Rings Extended Version DVD Case. I thought it was pretty good. What about you??

And... last one... In honor of Paulie... LOL!! I traced this way back in 2004. I really would rather draw characters, instead of just something I see. So I do alot of these type of drawings.

Well... hope you all enjoyed my art, if you want to see some real pics I posted some of my horses, our new fence, some really beautiful flowers growing around here, and a pic of Lucy and Hannie. They are some really neat pics.

I hope to get better at drawing and writing. I know God is working in me.

As Always...

I love your sketches! I think they are good. They don't have to be as good as anyone else's b/c you are not expected by God to be anyone but YOU! Just focus on becoming who God made YOU to be not measuring up to self-made standards or such.

Love in Christ,
Auntie Mrs. Brown! That sounds a bit too formal still. If your mom doesn't mind, I'd prefer Auntie Christina!

Anyhow you're are a better artist than you think!

Okay, the tomatoes story is hilarious!

Love the drawings... I'm more into painting although nothing ever quite comes out like I imagined. *sigh* I guess I just need to practice and maybe take a few classes. Actually, I'm incorporated art into our lessons this fall so it will be tres cool to learn right alongside my boys. :-)

Have a great day!

I didn't know you have children. How old are they? I saw your name on the Open House thing for homeschooling moms and was surprised to see it, actually I was reading over my mom's shoulder and she says you're not a mom but why would you be on there if you're not?
