There is a Problem here...

This Article was published in What the Bible means to me-a 17 year old Girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

There has been a controversy going on here on HSB. My little sis, gave a blogger a not-so-very-nice review and that blogger blogged about it. She had tried to get the review removed before anyone saw it, but she wasn't quick enough. (If she had asked me, well, we all know I could do it "faster than a speeding bullet".) My sister confessed she left the review and publicly apologized for giving it. Her review was correct, but not written in a loving manner. She wanted to warn people from going to his blog, because he does not blog the truth and many bloggers feel he is leading many "teens" astray because teens like him and his blog so much.

Chris, who was the blogger who received the bad review, posted his beliefs awhile back. There are MANY bloggers, young adults and adults alike who totally disagree with what he believes. And we all just wanted Chris to know we like him as a person, but we don't like his blog and don't want people going to it because of his beliefs.

Paulie has even blogged about this. He did a wonderful job of bringing in the Word to this while ordeal.

I thought I would write Chris a comment, and I didn't want to take over his comment section, so I just decided to post it on my blog and share why Chris's beliefs DO NOT line up with the Word of God.

This is what Chris believes:

I believe that Christianity as a religion, is deeply corrupt and flawed.

I believe that being gay is not a sin, but that being a practicing gay is a sin.

It shows symbols from many different forms of worship including Islam, Judaism, Shinto, and Christianity. It is a symbol popularized by U2. It is a call for members of all creeds to live together in peace and harmony. In other words, to "Coexist". I believe one day this will happen, and I plan to do my part to make it happen.

Chris, I think you are a nice person, but being a nice person doesn't make you right nor your beliefs right either. There are many things wrong with your beliefs. I know you are not going to change your mind by what I, Paulie, Jocelyn, or anyone else say, but I am charged as a Believer of the Word to share the gospel with all who do not know. And by what you have said you believe, it leads me to believe that you do not know what the Word says. "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 15:15)

I want you, Chris, to give me some references as to why you believe what you believe. So far you have just stated your opinions. You know what they say about those... EVERYONE has one. You have given no Biblical proof as to why you believe what you believe. I know you just want us all to "coexist" with our beliefs, but the Bible says otherwise. Here is what the Bible says about your beliefs.

You said that Christianity is flawed. I agree to some extent. Christianity today as a religion IS flawed, and most of it hypocritical. We have gotten far away from what the early Christianity believers believed. But if you believe on Jesus Christ and that he saved you from going to hell, then what religion would you call that, if you believe that Christianity is flawed?? You cannot want to have a religion that is flawed. That would go against the verse, "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Tim. 2:15)

And do you mean that Christianity as it was back in the Apostle Paul's day is flawed?? Flawed from the start??

You cannot only believe the parts of the Bible you want. You have to believe in it as a whole. You cannot take out what parts you agree with and leave the rest ‘cause you don't like what it says. If you believe in the Bible, you believe in the WHOLE Bible. "You shall not add to the word which I have given you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I commanded you." (Deut. 4:2)

If you believe the Bible to be true, then you believe that it is SIN for a man to be with a man. "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination" (Lev. 18:22) Or even to lust after another man. The Bible says "Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her he has already committed adultery in his heart with her." (Matt. 5:28). So if a man looks at a man to lust for him, but doesn't do anything, then he has already committed sin with that person. So you don't have to practice gay activities to be gay. Gay is gay. Bottom line. You cannot be gay and not be gay. There is no way.

If you believe in the Bible, then you must believe that only through Jesus Christ can you be saved. There is no other way. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you and your household shall be saved." (Acts 16:31)

Religions cannot "coexist". It is NOT possible. Islam won't coexist with ant other religion. They believe that if you are not Islamic they are to kill you.
Religions cannot coexist. "There will be false teachings among you, who secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord Jesus who bought them and bring on themselves swift destruction." (2 Pet. 2:1b)

If you do not believe the above, then you DO NOT believe the Bible. Everything I have said is taken from the Bible. They are not my opinions.

I would not encourage anyone to go to Chris's blog. His beliefs DO NOT line up the the Word of God. I would hate to see anymore people lead astray because he is the "hsb hub for teens", and many of those "teens", thinks he knows what he is talking about.
We are called to be set apart from the world, not be in it. It is a long, hard, and lonely road, but it is one we called to follow. Choose wisely what road you will be taking. It starts now as a "teen", not when you become an adult.

I choose the long, hard, lonely road of believing ONLY the Bible, not my opinions. "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." (Matt. 8:13-14)

"Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able" (Luke 13:24)

As Always...

YAY!

I'm first to comment!

*ahem*

Very good post!

If this doesn't open Chris's eyes, than not much more will!

The scripture you used went really well with your post.
Good job!

Good post! I too believe in sola scriptura. The Bible speaks to everything, and it proclaims the one and only truth. Two opposing religions can't both be true, because if so there would be no absolute truth.

I think you should take the pop up off. :-)

Love,
Mandy

Wow, you did a very good job with this. You used the Bible to get out what needed to be said. What better way?? And you did it in a calm and sensible way. Very nice.

I'm doing fine. Sorry, I didn't mean to worry anyone. The thing I haven't blogged about (if it happens) is a good thing, not a bad. Thank you for your concern, but I'm just fine.

I totally agree with you. I knew about his oppinion on homosexuality, and completely disagreed with him about it, but never knew about those other two oppinions.

I definitely agree with Paulie, if this doesn't open his eyes , nothing else will.

I am anxiously awaiting his reply to this.

I think you should take that pop-up thingy away too.

I think that there might be a misunderstanding about the homosexuality issue...would you read this comment and let me know what you think? http://homeschoolblogger.com/DarthYxpu/357089/?#c666679

I am still trying to make sense of all of this. I'm glad that you are all trying to hash out what you believe is true, using the Scriptures.

God bless <3333

Although Tostustus (sp?) thinks that the homosexuality oppinion was just a mis-understanding, he has posted his thoughts on homosexual marriage before. He was asked , "What do you think about homosexual marriage?" his answer was this : "I think it is so gay! lol. Yeah not funny. It is against God's word, but I believe it should be legalized. In the U.S. we should have freedom to sin, as long as we are not hurting others. It is not the government's job to keep this country moral."

Anyways, I thought I would post his oppinion on that, so you knew.

Britta

P.S. That was taken from his Nov. 21 '06 post.

Amanda,
I can't tell you how wonderful you wrote this entry! I agree with ALL you said, and I'm so glad you did this...

I haven't read Chris' blog entry---so I'm so glad you wrote this to tell everybody else. Of course, I do think Chris is a nice person like you said, but you're right: from what you showed, his beliefs are not true. I can't say everyone is going to agree on everything about each other's thoughts, but his beliefs as a Christian are directly aganist the Bible, and you just proved that also.

About the pop up: for my opinon, I don't think you need it at all. No offense. You see, I usually use the "back" button, so I have to push it twice.

Have a wonderful day!
Luv, Brooke

Yeah, I like blogs much better without the pop-up. In fact, the policy used to be that blogs with pop-ups got deleted. Not sure when that changed.

I was glad when Jocelyn took her's down. :)

I'm not going to take it upon myself to defend Chris, because I'm sure he can do it himself and I don't necessarily agree with him on all of these issues.

However, I believe his comment about homosexuality was completely misunderstood, and he has confirmed this in comments on my page and Paul's page. Please read my latest post and give me your thoughts.

Okay, I'll try to make this as simple as I can, to avoid confusion.

I'm not Chris' personal defender or anything, but he has said in his comments that he agrees with what I'm saying. So, regardless of how poorly he worded his original statement, I think he thinks the same as me.

This is what I think: homosexual activity, and homosexual lust are both sins that go against the Bible. I'm not trying to refute what you have said, because what you have said is correct. All I'm trying to establish is that being tempted to lust homosexually or do homosexual things is not a sin unless you yield to the temptation. And in my latest post I provide a lot of Scripture to back that up.

Hope that helps. :)

~Timothy

That comment that u left on Chris's blog was not much nicer than the one your sister wrote. Ia mglad that she apologized but i do not agree with you that people should stop going to his blog! The comment you wrote came across to me as very arrogant and cocky! I do not agree with Chris at all on this situation. He does need somebody there to show him he is wrong but yall are doing it in the wrong way. He will not change his mind as long as you keep on trying to get it to him so meanly. I think you should do it in a nicer way and you will probally get a better response and result!

The comment I left before this one was meant for the comment you left on his blog! This post was very nice. I am glad that You used scripture to back up your argument. I think Chris does need to rethink this over. I will remain his friend and continue to visit his blog but that does not mean I have to agree with him.

Hey there, I just wanted to say that I agree with you wholeheartedly.
As I said previously on your sisters blog, I do not know him well enough to post about it, but if I did, I probably would opened my mouth and embarrassed myself. You guys are doing so great at representing our Savior and basing your arguments on legitimate scripture with love.
Keep building these foundations,
