The Homesteading Carnival #11 Newspaper Edition

This Article was published in Memes and Carnivals

Welcome to The Homesteading Carnival #11.
I am so happy to be able to host it this week. Since The Daily Planet is a newspaper, this week's THC is a Newspaper Edition. So grab your cup o' java and sit down and let's open the front page!!

We'll start "Outdoors", where Paulie of From Cool to Smoky- A Day in the Life of a Computer Geek: A Photo Essay shows us how we can do a garden, even in the city. Not just any garden either, a salsa garden. He has some great pics of how his family started a "Salsa garden" in pots on their back porch. There are also some pictures of setting up a badminton game with his family, and some really neat things he can do on a skateboard.
Eric of The Voice of Experience has some "Goldfinch Pictures". He shows us some simple beauty of being on a homestead.

Next we will go to on over to the "Spiritual Homesteader" Section where April of ElCloud Homestead: Waiting on God explains that "Overcoming Depression" as homeschooling, and homesteading Moms, we often neglect our physical and spiritual selves, and find ourselves facing depression and discouragement.  We can overcome this by taking better care of ourselves physically, and spiritually.
Rachel of Rachel's Reasoning shares some of her favorite Psalms. It is very important to remember the words God has for us.

Now... to "What's Cooking??" Section, we have so many great recipes. Christi of Life of Contentment on Quiverfull Acres starts us off with "Homemade Eggrolls". Making things at home is so much more healthier for you.
Catherine of Catherine Love ~ Ramblings from My Heart & Home has a easy recipe for those "she needs chocolate and the pantry is bare" days! in Easy Chocolate Cupcakes.
GrannyG of GrannyG's Critters  has a Fudge Pie recipe for one of her chocoholic days.....when she needs some chocolate in her. Looks pretty tasty too.

We all need the "Health" Section. Jacque of Seeking Rest On The Homestead  has a lot of information about "Bee Stings". She saw about bees at last week's carnival hosted by Jasmine at PonderThePath. And then she got a newsletter about it. So she did some digging and research and even has bee story to share.

In the "Home" Section, Jocelyn of Amusing Reflections of a Country Girl has a list of "Everyday Household Items".  She has found that just finding ways to use everyday household items instead of having to buy harmful chemicals is alot safer for her family.

In "Arts and Crafts", Christina of Bundled In Prayer has a
showcase some of the custom afghans she has made. I must say, they are very high quality.

Are you looking for some free stuff?? Well, then open the "Classifieds", there is a great contest happening over at SuperAngel's and DarthYxpu's. They are holding "A Tribute To My Dad" Contest for 21 and younger. You only have 2 days left, so hurry and get your entry in.
Also go over to Dixon Contest Blog, for many other contest that are ensuing.
Amanda of My Learning Experience  has "The News You Have Been Waiting For... " as she tells about her filly mares for sale and other things on their homestead.
Lastly but definitely not least, we head over to the "Education" Section where Jacque of Seeking Rest In The Ancient Paths has started a "NEW- Tell Me About Your Homeschool Tag - Meme" that asks what homeschool products you use.
If you are looking for something in all the above categories and more, then stop by the Homesteadblogger Front Porch. They have some great posts on everything homestead.

Thank you for reading The Homesteading Carnival Newspaper Edition. I really enjoyed putting this together. I hope you will join us next week for The Homesteading Carnival #12. Please check at The Homesteading Carnival for the next hosting site.

As Always...

I'll tell him you said happy birthday! :-)

That was a really good report on Anne Frank! I rented the movie Anne Frank from Netflix once. It's in color, unlike the other movie, and it shows things that happened before and after they were in hiding. It was so incredilbly sad. I was crying through a few scenes!

Blessings,
Becca

Hey there,

RY1C: Yes, it has been a long time! And thanks about my header - I like it a lot, too!

RY2C: Ouch!! That doesn't sound like fun! Just tell the dentist to numb you a lot. LOL! Let me know when you do, so I can pray!

I really like that song you posted - "All In All". It is a really wonderful song.

Thank you for stopping by! Comments are always welcome!

Hey, thanks for dropping by! Yes, that was indeed random. The post title is actually the name of a Relient K "song" (it's only ten seconds long). It was so random I had to find an excuse to use it. :P

So, what's been up with you since I've been off the blogging?

What I Believe

I am a Biblical Believer and don’t conform to the denominations of today’s world. I am a non-fiction Believer. That means that God has already written my life story and I don’t want to change it by doing what I want, but follow it perfectly by His Word and Guidance. I will follow that plan alone. I will not make my own plans, but follow where He leads me.
I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and love Him as my Savior. I want to live wholly for Him and give my everything to Him.
I believe in Jesus Christ. That He is the Only Son of God. That He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father unless through Jesus Christ.
I believe Jesus Christ was beaten, crucified, and rose again in three days. I believe that He died for my sins, and washed them away. I believe that He is coming back for his people some day soon.
I believe that a marriage consists of a MAN and a WOMAN. I believe that the husband should be the head of the household and that all decisions lie ultimately with him. I believe that a woman should be a keeper of her home. I believe she does not need to get a job outside of her home and out of the authority of her husband.
I believe in a full quiver, and that God will give me the desires of my heart. I believe that the woman should stay home and raise her children in the LORD.
I am praying and waiting for God to bring the man of my dreams. I can’t wait to get married and have my own family. I am excited that I can be a stay at home mom and keep my home. I want to be a Homemaker and make my home to be a haven for my family to learn to be Biblical and Godly.
I hope to be an encouragement and teach Biblical things to all who stop by my blog and be encouraged and learn from others.
