I have finished my SUPERMAN bag!

Ok so here is what I did-

I have this material:

The SUPERMAN logo and SUPERMAN flying I used for the outside sides.

Then I had SUPERMAN & Earth for the inside of the sides.

I took the logo and the SUPERMAN & Earth and sewed some batting in between them, so I had a panel for the side.

I did the same thing with the flying.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Then I took and quilted the logo and some of SUPERMAN flying’s body and the outline of the square. I did this so that there wouldn’t be any space between the two. And it gave it an 3d kinda thing.

I took the edge where I had already sewn the panel together and I sewed another seam as to make it stronger and have a finished edge.

Then I took the SUPERMAN & Earth and made a panel with the batting for the bottom. And sewed that to the panels.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I took some more of the SUPERMAN & Earth and went up the sides to connect the panels also. I did not put batting in this part. It is just fabric.

Now with all the pieces you will see that I did another stitch line for finishing and strength.

I couldn’t get a good pic of the seam.

Ok now for the handles. I took the SUPERMAN & Earth and made them as long as I wanted and I put batting in it and sewed it together.

Then I took this red handle stuff, (no idea what the name of it is) and sewed it on the S & E material. I did 3 separate stitched along it. 1 in the middle and 2 on the side.

Then I had this blue and yellow rickrack and sewed them on to the S & E and Red handle. I had to go on it, so that the ends would come up. So I had to go in a zigzag. I did not use the zigzag stitch, I did it by turning it zigzag.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Then I ripped up the stitch, so that I could put the handles in. Put them in the depth of how I wanted it and sewed it back up.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Now the final thing that we did was put the zipper on. We took some more of the S & E material and sewed our zipper to it.

Then we sewed it to the bag.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

So there is my SUPERMAN bag step by step.

And here is the final work

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I think I covered everything. If you have any questions about that I didn’t explain let me know!

It only took me 5 days to get it finished. MOM did help me figure out the best way to do somethings and she did the zipper mostly.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT TO GO SEE SUPERMAN RETURNS again!!!! It was soo GOOD……..I want to see it again and again.

We will be going next weekend! It will be in our theater. WOOHOO!!!!

Does anyone know when it comes out on dvd? And do you know if they have the old ones in a dvd set? I need to get them! Hmmm…..where can I look?

Isn't my music just AWESOME!

Be sure to check out my sidebar. I change it all the time and check out my "about me" page, I changed everything. Let me know what you think.

My Homemade Skirt Pics and Details!
Published on June 17, 2006 at 1:10 PM

This Article was published in Homekeeping ideas from a 16 year old Girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

Hey everyone!

DRUM ROLL PLEASE..........................Here is the pics of my homemade skirt! ( I don't know why there is a white spot at the top. It must be the pic)(No before pic. Sorry)

This was actually a dress with spaghetti straps so what we did was we took those off and took the part that was the chest area and folded that down and made a waist band with it. This was connected to the straps.

Here is the waist band:

Then I sewed the buttons together and made like a box around them, so that they won't come undone. I went all the way to the bottom of the skirt.

Here is the buttons:

I bought this flower and ribbon, but the flower broke off of the clip on the ribbon. So I just doubled up the ribbon and sewed that on there. And as you can see I made a litte thingiemabob behind where I put the flower with the ribbon. Then I had to hand sew the flower on to it.

Here is the ribboned flower:

The last thing I am going to do is I will be putting a zipper on it. I didn't sew the first 2 buttons so that I could take them off and put the zipper there. I have to go to Wal Mart to get it. So I don't have pics of the zipper.

The only problem we are experiencing with making this to a skirt is that is was a dress before, so the part that was where my middle section was is now where my thighs are. It is really tight there because of that reason. So either I am going to have to lose my thighs or we are going to have to add some material there. I am leaning more towards the losing my thighs idear. (as the English would say).

So there you be. My skirt. Myrtle has a blue and purple on just like this that she is working on.

We have at least 2 or 3 more that we are going to be making. And I am also making a SUPERMAN bag. At Wal Mart they had a lot of SUPERMAN stuff, party supplies, SHIRTS, and some fabric. It was really expense, but I had to have it. It was $3.97 a yard, I think. There was 2 different fabrics, so I got both and will be making myself a really awesome bag shortly. And yes, I will be posting pics to all you fav blogger friends of mine.

If you have any questions about this that I didn't cover just comment and I will try to explain it to you!

It is so CUTESIE!

What we did on Sunday, Monday, Today
Published on April 25, 2006 at 11:19 PM

This Article was published in Homekeeping ideas from a 16 year old Girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

What we did on Sunday, Monday, and Today

Sunday:

We got up LATE to Rachel having made breakfast! Bacon, eggs, and pancakes. YUM! We ate together then I did the dishes and then took a shower. Got dressed and went outside with everyone. They were cleaning out the garage attached to the house. So after Jocelyn and I unloaded the van back into the CropShop we started helping them in the garage. Although I didn’t do that much. We went out about 1pm, we were out there til 8pm.

So at about 8pm I came in to make dinner. I made tuna patties with baked potatoes, broccoli, and peas. I don’t really care for either of the veggies, fresh green beans with onions and bacon is my fav, but some of the others don’t care for those so that is what I did. Rachel cleaned up after dinner. Then I went upstairs with mom and dad and waited for the weather to come on. But we missed it, then I went on the puter to get our PartyLite guest list finished.

After that I did some Creative Memories stuff. While I was doing that we were watching rerun of the Alias episode from last week and CSI. Then I brushed my teeth and hit the sack.

Monday:

I got up and got something to eat then started on the laundry. That is about all I did yesterday.

Until dad came home then I went outside to help him clean out the barn. But my allergies were flaring up because of the hay and dust and such and I didn’t have any benadryl. So I wasn’t much help. But I stayed outside with him because Joc had to go in to make dinner. We loaded some things in the truck and I got to drive it to the garage. Then we unloaded it and I drove it back up to the barn and load some more and there was some things that were hanging over the end so dad walked behind the truck as I drove it back done there. Then unloaded again and went back up to the barn to close it up and finish the stuff. I carried 3 tires done to the garage. I carried 1 then I took 2 at the same time. They are pretty heavy.

Then we went in and ate dinner. After that I called Grandpa Starr while Joc did the dishes and we went up stairs and we watched the last 15 min of SuperNanny while we were waiting for everyone to get ready for bed. Sent the littles to bed then we watched CSI Miami until Joc came up and asked if we could do Tae-bo. I was torn on whether I wanted to do Tae-bo or watch CSI. But I decided to do Tae-bo, so we went to the CropShop and watched the rest of the CSI! Then mom came out because she didn’t see anyone doing any Tae-bo, then I called my Grandpa Dixon and talked to him for about an hour. Then we finally did Tae-bo at 12am. Got done around 12:30am came in and took a shower. I felt really nasty. Then came upstairs and went to bed.

Today:

Got up wet my hair, put my makeup on, gelled my hair, blow dried it, then went downstairs. Some of my siblings got in trouble, so I had Caleb. Then about 2pm mom got on the puter and we had to deal with some eBay SoulRest things. And I did some Creative Memories things. Then I got something to eat and went back upstairs and helped mom with her CM order and did some more SoulRest things. Then about 7pm dad and I went to Dollar General to get some benadryl. Came home ate dinner, then I did the dishes and now I have typed up 4 entries to put on here.

So that has been my week so far. Thank you and good nite!

Luv @m@nd@

Thanks for the info.....I did find out that I shouldn't be giving him chocolate or milk....I have a homeopathic baby book, don't know why I didn't think to look in there! A lotta good that does me now though, he's over it! Thankfully he was pretty much over it by yesterday so he went to my Usborne show with me, and did fine.

Sounds like you had a busy weekend last weekend!
I spent most of the day today cleaning and reorganizing our bedroom/office....my desk was a mess, I go the hutch on top of the desk cleaned, but the desk still has stuff on it.....I took the puter apart and swept it out too, it was past due for a good dusting, probably the reason it was giving me fits! I really need to try to keep the dust down in here, I have dust allergies and I always wake up sneezing....and our bedroom is dustier than the rest of the house.

I wish too you lived closer! I need someone to help me once in a while.....and we need a babysitter once in a while.

Well, gotta get to bed! Have a good week-beginning! :)

This post counts for my CHCHC day on Saturday!
Published on April 25, 2006 at 11:15 PM

This Article was published in Homekeeping ideas from a 16 year old Girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

This post is going to count for my CHCHC day on Saturday!!!!

On Saturday I didn’t get to go to Memoranza. I had to stay home with the little kids because Dad was working. So I took that opportunity to get some SERIOUS cleaning done.

After getting just about 5 hours of sleep I had to get up with the Eric. So we watched "Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken". Old time fav, I used to watch as a kid! So that got over around 10am. After that we went downstairs and I started the NEVER NEVER ending pile of laundry! Oh my gosh! I do laundry EVERYDAY! About 10 loads.

So after I started that I was looking at the washer and noticed it was VERY grimy and dirty. So I started scrubbing that and the dryer then I decided, "Hey lets make the bathroom sparkle and shine!"

So I got Eric and Hannah, Isaac was still sleeping, and we divided all the laundry, cleaned out the drawer shelf, rearranged the drawers, scrubbed them, cleaned out the cabinet, scrubbed the tub, washed the walls, scrubbed the toilet, scrubbed the counter, washed the mirror, swept and vacuumed the floor, and scrubbed the floor. Whew!

At about 12:30pm we were finally finished. They were hungry, so before we could make lunch we had to clean up the pantry, pick up and vacuum the floor, and cleaned off a space on the counter for the bread machine. I decided to wait to do the dished til afterward because that would have taken WAY too long.

I decided to do Pizza for lunch. So we put the ingredients for the dough in the bread machine and I made some pizza sauce, and then got out the rest of the stuff and rolled out the dough, made the pizza and did some of the dishes. When the pizza was done we ate outside on the porch in the BEAUTIFUL spring weather!

Then I let the kids play outside for a while since they had been such big helps, while I finished the dishes. I cleaned up the rest of the kitchen. After that I finished the laundry. Then dad came home and I got to get on and check my blog. Mom came home very tired and practially fell asleep walking upstairs.

Then we finally got to watch KING KONG. I got off eBay, so that got over at about 11pm. And Joc and I were the only ones up so we watched some of the extra stuff of it while we were waiting for CSI and Alias to come on. So then we watched those and Joc fell asleep at the last 30min. of Alias. Then I went to bed.

So that is what I did to count as my CHCHC post!

My Week So Far
Published on April 19, 2006 at 3:31 PM

This Article was published in Homekeeping ideas from a 16 year old Girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

I am finally gonna blog about my day yesterday and the day before. Since I added other things yesterday.

Yesterday:

I didn’t get as much done as I wanted too, but I did get to work on my blog. So that was AWESOME!!!!

Got up yesterday and took a much needed shower, then did my makeup and hair, got dressed. Then I waited for mom to get off the puter so I could print eBay invoices and get them packaged to send. I could not find the tape for the life of me, so we went to DG and got some more with like 2 minutes til the PO closed. So I’m taping as fast as I can and jump out of the van and run to the PO. I got in there in just enough time to package the rest of the package AND fill out a customs form. So I go back to the van and you know since we got the 15-passenger van, I think everyone assumes that we are Amish. So they stare when they see us get out. So we go to the bank, then we go home. As I am getting out of the van I realize I left the tape there. So I go call the PO and they are saving my tape for me. Then I finished typing up the blog postings that I posted yesterday, and waited for mom to finish what she was doin. I went out to the New and Improved Scrapbooking Workshop. YEAHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Mom and Joc having been working their butts off to get that ready. Last week it was a disgusting, messy, storage area that was supposed to be the Schoolhouse. But it looks wonderful now. Then went back to the house and mom was finished so I got to get on.

The day before Yesterday:

Got up with ten minutes to spare til we had to go to Mr. Schenck’s. I fixed the walkway, de-rocked his garden, planted some Dahlias, finished sanding the table I was working on before, and picked up some things in the huge garage.

Came home grab a bite to eat, fed Caleb some too. Cleaned up the kitchen pretty much spotless. Finished ALL the laundry, then cleaned up the kitchen again. Made some rolls, started dinner, made some more roll dough. Cleaned up the kitchen yet again. We ate dinner outside cuz the dining room table was a disaster actually the entire house is a disaster. So after dinner I scrubbed and I mean scrubbed the grill. I don’t think that it has been cleaned since we got it, like 6 years ago. It was really gross. So after I did that I cleaned up the kitchen for the last time. THANK GOD! After that we figured out the dates for the CM workshops this year. I typed them up on the puter but went downstairs to get something and Joc was on the puter. So I wasn’t gonna argue with her to get off and have her be mad at me, so I went to bed.

So that is what my week has consisted of. I haven’t done as much as Joc and mom but I have taken care of the babes and cleaned up some of the house while they have been doing the other things. So I guess I will have to start doing the some deep cleaning too. I feel like they, mostly Joc cuz it’s the way she is, thinks that I am not doing anything to help get the house done. But I don’t really do well in the cleaning area; I would rather do business work and such. So I am going to do more cleaning I guess.

Today: So far

I have typed up this blog, cleaned the attic room almost all the way. watched the first disc of the Extended version of the Fellowship of the Ring, eaten a delicious egg salad sandwich with a Pepsi and am going to eat this apple with peanut butter. Then I am going to clean the Dining Room then do the laundry and my Algebra.

Luv

eBay, Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
Published on April 12, 2006 at 12:37 AM

This Article was published in Homekeeping ideas from a 16 year old Girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

Hey Everyone~

You know something I really like to do. EBAY! I luv working on eBay, listing, selling, mailing and such. It l gives me the chance to work on the puter, typing, math, people skills, grammar, and spelling. And I will tell you something, I can list things pretty fast too! I got about 25 things listed in the last 2 days and got most of my other work done too. I went to work for Mr. Schenck, got some of my research for my report that is do the 19th, helped with dinner, and made Banana Bread and Muffins.

So yesterday we got up, got around, got on the puter, and I check my blog then I listed some items on eBay, then we ate nachos for lunch, and went to Mr. Schenck’s.

I raked the grass up and laid and water some grass seed, then I started working on getting up the blinds that we are putting up in the addition that I helped do almost all the internal and external painting, decorating, sanding, hardware, and staining.

So then we come back home, and start picking up and make dinner. That is when I made the bread and muffins. mmmmm……..

So we ate dinner and then cleaned up, and went upstairs and started getting around to put the little kids in bed.

After the little kids went to bed I got out my essay paper things and tried to start to do it and then started crying cuz I was frustrated cuz I didn’t know what to do and I felt that I couldn’t do it. So I went to the attic room to get some help from mom and we watched the "America’s Godly Heritage" by David Barton. It was pretty informational so maybe, just maybe I can get this done. We’ll see!

So today I get up and get around and wash my hair get my makeup on and go to the attic room and get on puter to print off an invoice for eBay. And then listed some more items! As I’m listing items, Joc decides she wants to do Tae-Bo. So with my hair done and makeup on my face I go get ready to do Tae-Bo. We got to do AN HOUR!!!!! WOOOHOOO!!!! It was GREAT! Except this was a really hard one so we are pretty tired right now.
So I do Tae-Bo and then wash the sweat and makeup off my face and put more makeup on, get dressed and get the eBay packaged up and ready to go.

I get some beans and chips for lunch, and then we start Amistad, to see I can get any information on the 1st amendment and why they had the views they did about it.

BTW, if anyone knows any good sites that I could get some information about the 18th century it would be much appreciated!

Anywho, we go to get Isaac and Caleb in their seats and they aren’t buckled in.

So Joc and I buckle them and then Mom comes and we look for her Paypal card. Can’t find it!

So we dump out her purse, go through mine, look in her jacket, then we have Joc look in the receipts, and there it be.

We get to the post office like 1 minute before they close. Send the item, go get Mom a pop and go to Dollar General for Canola Oil, then we stop at the library to see if they have The Chronicles of Narnia or King Kong, but alas they don’t. Boohoo.

So we finally head home. Get home and do some things then I cleaned up the office and Joc and I started making dinner after Dad got home with the rice. We made Hamburgers, brown rice, frozen green beans with bacon, broccoli, and salad, with all the toppings mind you.

So now I am typing up things to put on my blog and watching "Lord of the Rings" "Fellowship of the Ring" part 2. My favorite one!

Well as soon as I’m done with this entry I am going to get ready for bed. I don’t know why but I have been very tired lately. And I’m not doing anything different from last month. Maybe it’s cuz the days are longer. I don’t know.

Tomorrow we are going to work at Mr. Schenck’s. YAY! And I really need to get my algebra out tomorrow. I have done it for a looooong time. But I guess its okay, cuz I do math and algebra daily, I just don’t get out my workbook.

anywho l8r
