The Last One...I Promise!!
Published on March 10, 2007 at 6:26 PM

This Article was published in My Fillies, Estrella and Dulcy

First off…today is Mrs. Suarez’s birthday. So go on over to “Home Where They Belong” and wish her a happy birthday!!

Second…4evrHischild has picked the winners of the Haiku contest. Guess who won?? Yep, that’s right Timothy. I told Jocelyn that we should have bet on him winning and then she would have won. But we aren’t betting people, so Timothy wins and we don’t!!
But go over to Timothy’s blog, and tell him CONGRATULATIONS!!

OK…so this is my last horse post on The Daily Planet. Then the more theological, thoughtful posts will be back!!
I think I’m going to use: “SuperHorseSteader” for a username on Homesteadblogger. I liked "SuperHorseGirl", but Jocelyn thinks that one is too childish. Of course, she thinks she is an Elf too, so what does that tell you about what she thinks?? What you do think of those two?? Which one do you like?? I know I am being dumb about all of this, but I am drawing a blank on what to do.
Thank you for all your suggestions, they were really good. Now…I need to design a template and get that up. Oh boy!!

So the vet came yesterday…. he had a pretty bad diagnosis on Estrella. The reason she was limping: she had an abscess. Running nose: she has a respiratory virus.  All of the above: underfed. Bad temper: not trained right.
An abscess is when she stepped on something metal/sharp and got a puncture wound. Since her hoof is like a toenail, it can’t swell and push the sickness out. So it gets a sore and gets infected.  To fix that he had to cut off a lot of her hoof, then he had to put iodine, a drawing salve, and bandage it. He showed me how. It was pretty easy. The only thing I was worried about was her freaking out when I did it, b/c I don’t have any tranqs.
He gave her some shots: an antibiotic and tetanus. He had to tranq her too, b/c she wouldn’t let him put the bandage on and she was rearing up!! REALLY BAD!!

I think she was having a hard time b/c she had to stand there for so long, and she isn’t used to men. Also b/c she needs to be trained.

So the treatment: Abscess: I have to soak her foot in Epson salt water, then I have to bandage it up again. This is supposed go on for the next week. Then I am going to have him come out again and check on her and get her on a vaccination program.
She did really, really well today when I had to soak and bandage her. I was really surprised. I was expecting a fight but she let me soak her for 20min, and then bandage her. I was so happy she did soo well.
Respiratory virus: I have an oral antibiotic to give her with her food.
She ate everything in her bowl, so I was happy. She ate all her food with her medicine.
Underfed: The feed I am feeding them is very poor quality, so I have to get diff brand. He suggested: Nutrena SafeChoice. Grass Hay also.

I am kinda worried about the bill. I know it will be more than what I had originally thought. EEK!!

Well besides all that talk up there, they are both doing really well. Eating good, drinking good, being horsey, running and bucking all over the pasture. They are really good horses, just need some training and loving.

Well that is all for now about the horses. I will try to get my homestead blog up and running shortly. And…my homestead blog will not be only about the horses…but about living on the homestead here and life here.

OK…so I will not post more boring horse stuff for you all anymore. I will be posting theological, thoughtful, meaningful posts.

And…. I will be getting pics of them. I don’t have a digital camera, except for Mom’s phone and that doesn’t take very good pics. I will try to get one or borrow one and get pics up for you all!! I want pics too, for the Homestead blog. That would be a neat thing to do…put my own pics as my background/ template. Hmmm…. cool.

I think my next post will be about Caleb…he has been the sweetest, loving kid this past few weeks. I just love him to death. He really has been cute!! What do you think of that post??

God Bless and Keep You and Yours!! Take Care!!
Love

It's weird how she get so many comments, you think she runs these other blogs, and then comes and comments on her real blog? Lol, I know it's time for a new blog, I got one writen and edited early this morning, but I never got to post it. Then I was gone all day, and I just got back at like 12:20. So now I'm going to post my new blog, and then you can come comment on it! I'll tell you what, I'll comment back to every comment you post on my blog, then we'll get more comments! ;p

As for the teasing, guys were meant to take it. :p

Hey, I like your horse posts!

I couldn't imagine having to soak a horse's foot or bandage it. I can barely get my kids to keep a cool rag on their head when they have a high fever! But I can be mighty persuasive with a popsicle. :-)

It's been fun reading about your horse adventures. My best friend will be moving to a new house soon...and getting a horse for her daughter! So far, little Mia has been content with the saddle she got for Christmas. She is going to be ecstatic when she gets her horse!

Have a great day, my friend!

Horses... Horses... and more Horses...
Published on March 7, 2007 at 2:25 PM

This Article was published in My Fillies, Estrella and Dulcy

Ok....so I have had some help now in getting a name picked out for a homestead blog. Below are the suggestions from some of the readers, and I like some of them. But it didn't seem like any of them stood out too much, except for mine and Jocelyn's. Mandy had some good suggestions though.

Also please keep Estrella in your prayers. She has been limping, has a runny nose and been breathing a bit raspy. None of these symptons mean anything good, so I have been stressed a little.
I am having a vet come out on Friday to check her and make sure she is good. I might just be making something out of nothing, but I would rather be safe than sorry. And with the recent goat troubles, there is no way I want to have a sick horse. They go downhill fast. I called the former owner and she thinks she just pulled a muscle or something, so it is prob nothing.
I have blanketed her and stalled her. I walked her out today to eat in the pasture a bit, and she LOVED it!! She doesn't like to be in her stall all the time.

Both Estrella and Dulcy are now in heat. It scared meon Sunday, when I went down to the pasture and there was a pile of reddish orange liquid. No one had dumped anything from the goat pen, so I was really worried. I called Grandma and she thought they just might have gone into heat. Sure enough they had.

I have finally gotten my Storey's Guide to Raising Horses. It has been really helpful. I think these Storey's books are really good. Jocelyn has the Goat one and Mom is getting the Poultry one. They have a lot of great info in them. I would recommend getting a Storey's if you have an animal. They have guides for: Beef Cattle, Llamas, Pigs, Chickens, Ducks, Rabbits, Sheep, Turkeys, and Poultry.

Yeah, my biceps are really sore, and are getting really big!! It is funny!! I have to carry buckets of water down to the barn everyday at least twice, so carrying them makes my arms get bigger.

I found out that I could actually ride them now. Shellie said that it would prob be a good idea to ride then bareback first, so they are used to the weight, and so we find our balance on them. Joc will be really happy. She has been bugging me about riding them bareback, cause the Elves ride bareback and she thinks she is one of them. Crazy, I know!! I am living with a girl who thinks she is an Elf. Help me!! It is extremely SCARY sometimes living with her.

I know you are thinking, "Another Horse post!!". Well sorry horses have kinda taken over!! Don't worry, I plan to have a homestead blog by Sat. and then you can have the normal posts back.

Ok...so here are the Homestead Blog name suggestions. I thought about having a contest to see who could come up with the best name, but I have no idea what to give away, so I guess I can't have a contest. Unless you can come up with a good prize and a name!!
I would the name to have Super in it, but if I can't find a good enough name with it then I won't use it. Some of mine are lame, I know, but I am at a loss. Mom and Jocelyn don't really care for any of mine. The asterisk marked are my favs.

ME:
    *SuperHorseGirl
    *SuperHorseSteader
    *SuperCowGirl
    *SuperEquestrianGirl
    SuperEquestrian
    SuperRancher

MANDYGRACE:
    *aCowgirlsLife
    HorseWhisperer
    EquestrianGirl
    NutsAboutHorses

JOSSY:

    *HorseSteader
    HorseOfADifferentColor (too long)

PAULIE:
    *HorseLover
    Horseperson
    ILovehorses

MOM:
    HorseSteaderAtHeart
    AHorseGirlsLifeForMe

Mom said more, I just can't think of any of them. Well I plan to talk about something non-horse on Sat. So come back then.

God Bless and Keep You and Yours!! Take Care!!
Love

Both you and your sister are pretty good with HTML.
Why don’t you have a site?
You could share one and put all your family pictures on it!
Or maybe design templates on there and sell them!
There are endless things you can do with your own site!

Yes, Mainekid1 is the only one of my children that have blogs. My oldest is in college and is much too busy, my second oldest really hates to write and the two younger are just too young. They don't write yet, and I haven't had the time to help them write much. We read a lot.

I will be rereading all the entries over the next few days and try to post the winners by Friday.

Also , I have been trying to come up with a name for your homestead blog but am coming up blank right now. I think you should include something about your beliefs in your name like Riding for Jesus, or SuperJesusFreak, or I don't know...

I was on the homeschool blogger home page and I scrolled down to the "Latest Entries" section and saw your post "Bashes and Horses and Puppies, Oh My, and Guitars and Licenses, Oh My!!". I adore horses and I have always wanted one, so I clicked on it. And that is how I found your blog. I would have said something earlier, but I am really, really shy. My friend Sharla88 finally talked me into talking to other people on here. So instead of leaving my 10 favorite bloggers on the tag blank, I decided to take Sharla88's advice and tag my favorites. And I am glad I did, because I have met some of the sweetest people on here, including you. Your fillies are absolutely gorgeous. I didn't know that your sister created that blog, that is really funny!! I hope to get to know you better!!

God is my Provider!!
Published on March 3, 2007 at 4:58 PM

This Article was published in My Fillies, Estrella and Dulcy

Well I have this big theological post typed up, but I don’t’ feel like posting it. So much has happened this week and am just too tired to do anything.

As you know Jocelyn’s does kidded. It was a joyful time and sad time. She is still really upset by everything. So keep her in your prayers!!

Here is ANOTHER horse post. Sorry horses have taken over my blog. I asked you all to help me try and figure out a name for a homestead blog. I only actually got help from one person, Paulie. Although Levi helped me by telling me NOT to go to HomeSteadBlogger. LOL!!
So if anyone has any other ideas that would be great. I am thinking about using one of the ones Paulie gave me though. I wanted some that stuck out, “something that says, ‘Here I am, Xerxes.’ POW!!” No not really, that is just from a Nest movie and it is funny!! But I really do want something that sticks out, something that catches the eye. Like SuperAngel catches the eye, it is something that is unusual, that someone will just go check out. So anyone help??

I can’t believe it has been a week all ready since I got Estrella and Dulcy!! Man, time flies!! I have had such a fun time with them. We (the horses and I) are learning from each other. It has been fun getting to know them and their personalities. They have a few a kinks we need to work out, but they are getting better.
They love being outside and grazing. We have to be careful when we let them out of their stalls, b/c they like to take off running in the pasture and then when they are called to come in they run around instead of coming. So we have started leading them out and walking them around so they know when they come out they are not to run around. It has been working ok. We are also going to start a new thing, we are going to get treats and when they come when we call they will get one. Hopefully that will get them to come and we can get rid of these problems.
They also nip every now and then. So when they have been nipping, I take my hand and put it over their mouth and tell them no. That has worked well they haven’t nipped as much. Although last nite, I was rubbing Estrella’s face and she bit me little. It hurt a bit, but I don’t think she knew she bit me b/c she was eating hay at the time.
They love to be brushed!! Of course, I would love to be brushed too if I laid on the manure. EWW!!  They are animals and don’t care what they lay in, so it is kinda gross seeing all the manure dried on them. I will have to wash them soon, I think. But that will have to wait til it gets warmer and we are not so busy!! But they have been in the rain, so that helps some.
They have already gone through one 50# bag of feed. WOW!! So when they graze I won’t be feeding them as much. The feed we buy is $10, so that is about $40/month. Well I guess I am going to have to be working more!!  But I don’t mind, hey, I have horses, so what if I have to work a little more.
Another great thing about having horses is EXERCISE!! Shoving, walking, bending, and that good stuff. I hope to get rid of this belly by the summer, by doing all this stuff!! WAHOO!!

Well I think that is all for now about Estrella and Dulcy. Mom changed the spelling of Dulcy, so its not a typo.
Mom thinks we should call Estrella “Estrella Roja”, b/c Estrella is soo red. I didn’t remember she was that red when I went and saw her. They are also so much bigger than I remember them too. I think that is b/c they were by other big horses, so they looked smaller!! But they are about as tall or taller than me. When you measure a horse you measure from they shoulder down., so their shoulders come to my head. They heads are a lot taller.

Caleb has loved being able to go to the barn and see the horses!!  If he can’t go, he cries and it is so cute to see him cry like that!! He loves them so much!! It is so nice being able to watch his excitement!!

They are so awesome. I was down in the stall sometime this week, and I about started crying b/c God is so great and wonderful. I have horses. I honestly did not think that I would horses before I was an adult and God provided them. I wasn’t even looking for a horse, I was just browsing through the Peddler’s Post and they were there, I just called to see find out the info, and God did the rest!! He provided everything!! THANK YOU, GOD!! I just can’t stop saying that!!

~Philippians 4:19 “Buy my God, shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”~

    This verse says it all!!
God is Jehovah Jireh.
God Bless and Keep You and Yours!! Take Care!!
Love

Thanks for your comment! It meant a lot to me. It really is very comforting to know I'll see them again--sometimes I can't wait!
To be honest, I can't think of the name of the disease they had. It was really rare--I think when my sister was born only like 40 kids had had it in the world or something. It involved their lungs...it had some long medical name, I'm sure. I guess when I was five I didn't really care what the name was, I just wanted to see him get better!
Anyway, thanks for your comment again. Even though it's been so long, I still get saddened by it sometimes, including when I wrote that. So your comment was very comforting to me! :)

Hey there...sorry I haven't commented you in a while. I've sacrificed internet for Lent...so the feast day/celebration of Sunday is the only day I "break fast". :-)

I enjoyed reading all the news about your fillies. How exciting!!! And I read your last post...about the cashier mistaking you to be older. Seems like HSers are always being mistaken for older...so much more mature, intelligent, responsible...LOL!!!

Well, I'll talk to you next Sunday,

I am so glad you got your fillies!!! It must be so exciting! I hope you post some pictures!

I saw you commented on the fact that 3 people said you were one of their favorite blogs... well make that 4! Jocelyn put me in her 10 favorite bloggers, thereby tagging me of course and when I did the tag you were one of the very first bloggers that came to my head. You are absolutely one of my top 5 favorites!

Your haiku is good! You did good on rhythm and chose a good subject line! I just posted a poem today if you want to come read it!

No I have never read David Copperfield, but you certainly make it sound interesting. :)

Bunnies are fun pets! The two we have right now are Dutch-lop mixes, and they have such personalities, it’s funny.

I'm So Excited and I Just Can't Hide It!!
Published on February 25, 2007 at 2:50 PM

This Article was published in My Fillies, Estrella and Dulcy

I just can’t believe I am a horse owner!! It is truly a miracle from God. I am still not sure that I quite realize it, but it is just so awesome going to the barn and having 2 horses in there.
Friday nite, around 11pm I was out in the barn putting up gates to the stalls and doing whatever else I needed to do. We were out there til about 1am. I was so tired and stinky. There was a fire going, and I smelled like smoke. So I had to come in and take a shower b/c I didn’t want to go to bed smelling like a bonfire. So I went to bed around 2am.
Yesterday around 11am, I went out to the barn to finish whatever and we had to redo two of the stall door, so we did that and were finishing, when around 2pm, Estrella and Dalcy got there.
We put them in the barn and I took care of the rest of the payment and such. Then Jocelyn brought Isaac down to see them and he was so excited!! So I took them outside to get to know their surroundings and they really enjoyed being able to graze. They had to paw the snow a bit, but they liked being outside. Estrella is scared of the trains. When one came by she bolted around the yard, then she came to me and I had to calm her. It was so funny seeing her running around the yard. Then Estrella and Dalcy started chasing each other around. It was so cool to see!!
Then I went to the house and asked Caleb if he had seen what was down in the barn. Then he ran to the window and saw the horses, he was so excited!! I asked him if he wanted to go see them and he went and found his shoes and coat. So I put them on him and took him out. When he saw them up close, he was the most ecstatic baby I have ever seen. I took him up to Dalcy, she is gentler, and he petted her, and then I put him on her back. He got the BIGGEST smile on his face. It was so great to see!!
So even though there was things that needed to be finished, Mom let me play with them and get to know me. I enlisted the help of Eric and Hannah to help me get straw into their stalls. We were going to do sawdust, but I didn’t get to find any yet.
We finished the gates and such later. We were out til 9:30pm. Then I came in and took a shower and got cleaned up. I was so sore!! So I went upstairs to rest and put my feet up. We sat there til about 2am, and then Jocelyn and I went to check on Chloe the goat. We figured she would kid b/c it was the coldest nite of the year, and it was raining sleet and everything was iced. So we slipped and slid our way down to the barn. I am not going to tell what happened afterward, b/c I don’t think Jocelyn would want me to. But something exciting happened. Anyway, I didn’t end up getting to bed til 5am, and that was only cause Caleb woke up and I had to come up to the house and put him to sleep.
So I woke up very, very tired, but very, very, HAPPY. I have horses in the barn!! I had Rachel and Eric feed and water the horse this morning b/c I just could not get down there to do it, b/c I was SOO very tired and they were already down there. So I have to go check on them soon.
I am so thankful that God provided the funds for getting them, getting the lumber and tools, and everything I needed for them.
They are so very sweet. Estrella is a little feisty, but she is warming up to me and comes to me and is settling down a bit.
I can’t wait to get to know them more and take care of them. When my Grandma comes up in April and she brings her tack, I am going to have her go with me to TSC and get another set of tack for Dalcy. I am kinda still learning and am not quite sure what I will need, but she will, so I thought it would be a great idea to let her help me get what I need.
OH JOY!! I am still not sure that this is for real!! But it is and I am just so thankful!!
And since you guys and gals were no help in helping me get a name picked out for my homestead blog, I am still at a loss!! So I am still enlisting your help for ideas of names!!
It is truly a gift from God that I have these horses, and I am just so thankful for him providing them. I am also so thankful for Mom and Dad allowing me to get them.
I can’t wait to ride them!! It will be so fun. Oh I can't believe it!! If anyone is in the Fort Wayne, IN way this summer, lmk and I can get you a horse ride!! LOL!!
Oh I am so happy...I said I would probably be the happiest girl on the planet, and I think I am!!
P.S. Go check out HomeSchoolHighLites blog...Chloe redid it!! It looks really elegant, I think.
God Bless and Keep You and Yours!! Take Care!!
Love

CONGRATS on the horses! That is enormously exciting! You've definitely worked hard getting things ready...I think I'm tired from reading about your hard work.

It cracks me up that you're talking about snow and ice, though. I totally cannot relate to that. The kids are outside right now eating popsicles and riding their bikes in the bright sunshine! It's close to 80 here in my part of Houston! :-)

Enjoy your horses and get some rest.

By the way, you know if I meet you at the barndance I am totally going to be expecting you with blue tights and a red cape like Superman!!! hehehee...

...I am actually half-Korean so it would be weird for me to wear a Japanese kimono! LOL BUT I am wearing a traditional Korean dress to my mom's b-day party this coming Saturday. She's turning 60 and that is a huge deal in the Korean culture-- right up with the 100 days old celebration.

*sigh* But dressing up is ALWAYS fun...so I hope you will dress up for the shindig in October-- I don't want to be the only one! Maybe Coie will make you a dress? You can trade her goat tips (as in advice, not a cut of meat!) for a nice dancing dress. :-)

I was interested in your "One Night With the King" post as my parents had watched that very recently and not liked it at all. I was asking Mommy several times if "such-and-such" was in the movie. She said "yes" to every one. Yikes. You are right, it did "look" good, but from what I heard from you?--"Ewww!"

Yes, I would like to add you. Why do you like Superman so much? Do you like all the movies in your sidebar a lot? Or are they just there for people to see? I hope to get to know you better in the future. Oh, by the way, thank you for adding me on your sidebar!

What a Weekend!!
Published on February 21, 2007 at 12:19 PM

This Article was published in My Fillies, Estrella and Dulcy

I am so happy and tired. The happy news: The horses will be here on Saturday. The tired news: We have been working on building the stalls for them since Sunday.
Last Saturday nite, Dad, Eric and I went to Lowe’s to get the lumber and a saw.
Then Sunday, we went out and started. First we had to get all the old hay, cobwebs, and dust out of the stalls. We also had to tear down some walls. That took a couple hours. Then we had to figure out we were putting the studs. Mom, the genius, had already made a plan of where the stalls were going, how they were going, and made a miniature scale on graph paper for us to follow. So all we had to do was cut the lumber and hammer it together. Once we knew how to put everything and such, it went pretty fast. We got half a stall up by Sunday nite. It was freezing cold all day. I was bundled up well, but was still really cold.
Monday, we finished the rest of the first stall and then started on the second one. I had to sawzall  on a wall or two. That was really weird cause it shakes you up and makes your arm shake afterward. I don’t like that thing. It was harder to do the old barn wood because that wood is really hard. That was the first time I had used the sawzall.
Then we started on the second stall, but didn’t get to finish it because we had to get more nails. But on the second stall, we only had to build one wall, so it was ok. It was a lot warmer!! I had the same amount of clothing on that I did Sunday, but was warm the whole day!!
Then yesterday, Mom and I finished the wall on the second stall, and then started to make the gates for them. I had to use the sawzall again on a trough that we are making into a walkway. After I used it my head was still shakin’. lol... I also for the first time used a power saw. Scary, I know. I did pretty good. We made one gate. It turned out pretty well. We have about 3 more gates to build, but that won’t take long. All we have to do is cut the lumber and nail it together. It was really warm yesterday. I only had a hoodie on. So that was really nice.
I have found out construction is NOT something I want to do. It is really hard. My arms are sore from hammering and sawing. So, when I need my house built I will have a contractor build it cause I do not want to do it!!
I need to get some hinges and gate locks before they come. I also need to get some feed, a bridle, a lead rope, and whatever else I think I need.
I am so excited to finally get them. I can’t wait. We were supposed to get them last week, but since we had such a horrible snowstorm that didn’t happen. I know Saturday is only 3 days away, but it seems like a long time. But God knows we need more time to finish up the stalls and get what we need to get. So I am waiting as patiently as I can!!
Ok, so I need your help. I am going to start a homestead blog about my horse and can’t figure out a name to use. Mom and Jocelyn have been no help. So I could use some help!!
I found out some more info on AJ and Dalcy. They both have the same father and he is an Appaloosa. AJ’s mother was Quarter Horse and Dalcy’s mother was Quarter Horse and Appaloosa. So that is pretty cool.
AJ will get pretty dark brown, and Dalcy will change colors throughout the year. I plan on changing AJ's name. I am thinking about Estrella; it is Spanish for star. It is pronounced "Es-stray-a", and since she has a star on her forehead, I thought that would be a good idea. Plus my grandma's last name is Starr, so I thought that might be neat. Dalcy will be the family horse, so I don't get to name her.
They won’t be able to breed for a couple years. Shellie told me that 4 years old is a good time to breed horses.
They are only green broke now, since they are so young, but with them being as gentle as they are I think they will be easy to saddle break. Shellie, who sold them to me, has had her son on them and they were fine. Shellie has been really helpful already with telling what I need to do before I get them, what they will be eating, etc. She has also offered to give me any advice or help me with any questions or anything I need.
Shellie is a barrel rider. She has 4 other horses, and she is going to get another gelding, so she really couldn’t keep them. She actually sold them to me for cheaper than the ad, so that was a Godsend.
It is really exciting going to the barn and figuring out where we will be putting them, building the stalls and such. It is almost like, “HEY, somebody pinch me and make sure I am not dreaming!!” I can’t remember when I didn’t want a horse and now God has provided me/us with TWO!! Isn’t He great??
Another thing God has provided is my Grandma. She used to have horses and had to get rid of them. She has her saddle and bridle and blanket and everything else and she said that whatever she had was mine. Now that is AWESOME!! Saddles are pretty expensive, so I was so happy that Grandma is giving them to me. She is will be giving me alot of great info too!! Grandma was so excited when I called her and told her that I was getting horses. She was even more excited to learn that one of them was an Appaloosa. Those are her favorite. She used to have one, so I was glad that I am going to have one!!
I will try to get some pics of the barn finished and maybe some with AJ and Dalcy in them, but I don’t have any before for you.
Mom and Dad picked up a Horse Illustrated magazine for me from Tractor Supply Co. and it is really interesting. I have been going over it cover to cover, and have been looking at all the ads that are in it too. I think I am going to get a subscription to it. I bought the Storey’s Guide to Raising Horses, because Mom and Joc had the Storey’s Guide to Raising Goats and they learned alot about goats. So I hope to gain as much knowledge as I can. That is part of the reason I want a homestead blog. To learn from homesteaders what they do with their horses.
I feel like I am walking into this blind. I don’t feel confident enough about raising horses, but that is just something I need to work on.
I am kinda bummed that I won’t be able to ride them for awhile, but I guess I can wait a couple months. Hey, I have already waited this long to actually get horses, so I can wait til summer to actually ride them.
Caleb is soo excited about horses too!! I had a poster out of the HI mag, that when Caleb came in he ran over and about fell on his way, and just started saying "hor". He was so excited to see it and then Isaac tried to explain to him that we were getting some. It was really cute!!
Well I have had a really busy weekend and beginning of the week. Come Saturday, I will have horses and will be the happiest girl on the planet, I am sure!!
Man, my weekend's have become so busy and fun!! Last weekend we were in TN, this past weekend we built horse stalls, and next we will have stalls!! How fun!!
I will try to post Saturday or Sunday about getting them and maybe even have pics for ya’ll!!

God Bless and Keep You and Yours!! Take Care
Love

I'm sorry I took so long to answer your question about putting a picture in the address bar. I don't know how much you know about code, etc., but here's the basics:

1. The picture needs to be an icon file (*.ico) or png file (*.png) sized to 16x16 pixels.
2. Upload it somewhere on the server, and make a note of the URL of the photo
3. In the header of your page, include the following line:
<LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/uploads/pianosteve_favicon.png">

(Obviously, you would replace the URL there with the URL of your icon picture)

Does any of that make sense?

My Fillies
Published on January 21, 2007 at 8:16 PM

This Article was published in My Fillies, Estrella and Dulcy

I have some updates on my fillies.
I went to see the fillies today. I got some pics for you all. They aren't the best, but I think they will suffice!!
Their names are AJ and Dalcy. I will probably change their names. They will actually be two this May.
I put a down payment on them. When we get back from Coie’s bash, I will pay the rest and bring them home.
How wonderfiul!!
Then in April, my Grandma is coming up and will be bringing me her saddle. Which is a huge blessing. Saddles are expensive. I know that hers was well taken care of and is really a nice saddle.
We have a few things to do in the barn to get ready for them. We will have to tear a wall down and put two walls up. Then get the stalls ready with the necessities. So not too much work, but enough.
Oh, I can’t wait!! I have been wanting a horse since I can remember and now it is coming to pass.
THANK YOU GOD!! He is too good to me!!
Here are the pics:

This is Dalcy . She is an Appaloosa. She has spots and will change colors in the summer.

How wonderful! I love horses myself (though I have not seen very many) and would love to have one. I hope you will post more pictures of them when you bring them home.
