Jeremiah 8:4-7

"This is what the Lord says: "When people fall down, don't they get up again? When they start down the wrong road and discover their mistake, don't they turn back?

Then why do these people keep going along their self-destructive path, refusing to turn back, even though I have warned them?

I listen to their conversations and what do I hear? Is anyone sorry for their sins? Does anyone say, What a terrible thing I have done"? No! All are running down a path of sin as swiftly as a horse rushing into battle.

The stork knows her time of migration, as do the turtledove, the swallow, and the crane. They all return at the proper time each year. But not my people."

I am reading through the entire Bible this year and came across this verse.

I had never heard this before and it is so true in the world today.

Why do we as Believers’ think that if we fall to our sins we should crawl around in it for awhile, instead of stopping and saying "Ok, look where I am. I need to quit doing this and get up and get on the right steps. I need to get this out of my life or I will not be the person God has created me to be."?

When you are driving and you take a wrong turn, do you go back and start over? Then why in your walk with God can’t you do the same?
The longer you travel the wrong way or crawl around, the more you mess up the plan that God has already laid out for you. And the more it becomes familiar to you and you don’t even realize you do it.

Sin only last for a season. Sooner or later you are going to hit a wall on the road or when you are crawling, and you are going to come out scarred. But you will know that you were wrong and you will try your hardest to not to that again, if you are truly repentive.

I learned that lesson the hard way last summer. Go here to see the rest of what I learned: Stepping Heavenward by Mrs. Elizabeth Prentiss: It Changed My Life,  Extra, Extra, Read All About It: A Reflection Sisters & GoatsSin is like Kryptonite,The One Ring, and Pirates

It’s human nature to get up when you fall and turn around when you make a wrong turn. Why can’t we condition our spirits to do the same?

I hear people say, "You need to get your flesh under control" but sometimes we need to get our spirit under control too.

When we sin we need to acknowledge our sin and apologize to God for it. And if you have sinned to someone in front of someone else and then you only apologize to the person you sinned to, then the other person will think that you never did anything to change what happened. It is important to apologize to everyone that was there when you sinned.

Sometimes, I know, that we don’t think it’s a big deal to apologize, but we have to ask forgiveness. We have stopped saying, "What have I done?" and we keep doing it over and over. We become lax in our sin, not seeking God’s love and forgiveness.

I know that since reading this verse I am going to try to always ask forgiveness. And acknowledge my sin and turn from it.

Thank you for spending your precious time to read the ramblings of a 16-year-old girl who is trying to become a woman seeking the way of God.

I can only hope to become as much as a blessing as all the people I meet here are to me. So THANK YOU.

Reading the Bible is the best education! Lots of good words in there. Good thoughts!

Sin... I can see the ring or power of the ring as sin, love of power... kryptonite is bad for do-gooders, like drugs maybe. Or being around something that tempts us makes us brainless sometimes. Pirates... hmmm they kept to the "code"/ law but probably were without true salvation, looking to fill the void with treasure and excitement...without hope yet still potentially savable until dead. just my randomness at 11:59pm.

I like the new look :)

Frodo & Sam's Task~Our Task
Published on July 19, 2006 at 8:04 PM

This Article was published in Reflections of a 16 year old girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

Imagine you are here, The Lord of the Rings-The Fellowship of the Ring. The ending.

Frodo and Sam looking over to Mordor and seeing Mount Doom.

Now as you recall "The Fellowship" is broken. Gandalf lost to the Shadow in Moria. Merry and Pippin captured by the Uruk-hai. Boromir falling over the Falls of Rauros. Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli "hunting some orc".

Now Frodo and Sam don't know how the other members are. They left before all this happened, except Gandalf.

Ok, so they are looking over to Mordor and Frodo says, "I hope the others find a safer road." But no roads are safe in life.

I see a bunch of resemblances here to Jesus, God, and the Bible, but here are a few that I just noticed when we went on a Lord of the Rings Marathon for July 4th, while I was making my SUPERMAN Bag.

Sam: "I made a promise Mr. Frodo. A promise. Don’t you leave him, Samwise Gamgee. And I don’t mean too."

This is when Frodo is leaving to go on the quest alone. The reason he knows he has to go alone is that he loves his friends too much to let them put their lives in danger for him.

Does Sam remind you of anyone? That’s it, Jesus. He made a promise to us, when we accepted Him as our savior never to leave us. And He is still here keeping His promise 2000 years later.

Frodo: "I’m glad you’re here with me."

He says that to Sam as they take the first step to go to Mordor. What courage, strength of character and willingness they have to take the first step to doing what is right. Oh, to have that faith enough to do what is right no matter what is cost me.

Taking that first step to accomplishing the task that is laid before you is one of the hardest things that you have to do. Without taking that step you will not be able to become who God created you to be.

When I hear him say that I think, "Jesus I am glad you are here with me." We as believers need to tell Jesus that EVERYDAY. We need to be thankful that we don’t have to call Him to come and just be with us. He is already there. He will never fail us by leaving us. Although we as humans may fail Him many, many times.

Fast forward now to The Return of the King.

Frodo and Sam on Mount Doom. Frodo CANNOT go any further. The weight of the Ring is too much now.

Sam: "I can’t carry it for you, but I can carry you."

And he picks him up and carries him almost to the top.

There he is again. Jesus. When sin is too much for us to gone on anymore, we can be joyful in the thought that we have Jesus to pick us up and carry us to the next place we need to be in life. And even though He can’t carry our sin for us, He helps in any way He can.

Sam loves Frodo so much. He sees the pain that the Ring causes him, and he wants to be rid of it. He would carry the Ring for him, but he knows that this is Frodo’s task and he must do it.

The only way he can help him finish it is to protect him with his life.

Just like my Jesus did on Calvary 2000 years ago. He carried all my sin and heartache. Just like Sam carried the Ring when he thought Frodo was dead. But he had to give it back to Frodo, just as Jesus has given us the weight of our sin. Now whether we choose to embrace that sin or ignore it he cannot choose. It is only us that can decide what to do with the choices that He has given. So He has to bear to see us make the mistake of sinning and the pain that is causes us. The only thing He can do is be there to comfort us when we finally decide to let go of our sin and come to him to heal us.

Frodo and Sam’s task was to destroy the "One Ring". Ours is to destroy the sin in our lives, so that we may become the Holy, Biblical, men and women of God. And when we complete our task we will find, just like Frodo and Sam, that there is a better life for us.

When we finish our task, we will have achieved the best gift. A passage to "The Grey Havens". Heaven! Oh, what a wonderful day that will be. To have NO distractions in worshipping and praising our Lord, Savior and Redeemer.

I hope you are encouraged by this post. May God bless you and keep you as you continue on your quest to Him. May He pour a double portion of His spirit on you.

Nice post! There is a lot to think about and "hold onto" in there. You have summed all of that up so nicely! Doesn't thinking about that just make you want to be a friend like Sam was? -To be able to forgive people that way and protect them. It is also wonderful to know that Jesus is an even better friend than any human could ever be because he knows everything about us and even created us.

With you on the Quest,

Do you need Life & Health Insurance?
Published on July 12, 2006 at 9:30 PM

This Article was published in Reflections of a 16 year old girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

Do you need life & health insurance? Does your life and health insurance cover all your needs? Does it cover your physical & spiritual needs? Does it cover your eternal life?

Mine does.

This is not some regular insurance, this is unique.

The benefits are Amazing. It comes with eternal life, a loving father who cares for you, a friend who will be with you always, never leave you, & will never hurt you, a everlasting love that will never fail even though you may.

The benfits aren't even the best part. You want to know what is? It's FREE!!!! That's right. For all time. There is no hidden fees, no monthly payments, no late charges.

Now you want to hear how you can get this offer.

All you have to do is get on your knees and cry out to the owner, Jesus Christ, Son of the God who created the heavens and the earth, and say "I am a sinner. I confess. Please take away all my sins. I want to live for you. I believe in you. I want to live for you."

That's it! And BAM you get the best life and health insurance there is. The only thing he asks of you is that you love with Him with all your heart & believe that He is who He said He is.

This AWESOME insurance even comes with a helpful manual for any questions you might have. The name of it is The Holy Bible.

This offer comes with a great doctor too. He is available 24/7. He is a doctor who has 2000 years of experience. He is a doctor who can heal ALL of your infirmaties, both physical & spiritual.

Get it TODAY!

OK, so we don't have life or health insurance in real life. We don't need it. I know that my life is insured with the blood of Jesus. So I have no worries about. And I know that if I get sick, He will heal me. I have the best doctor. I know that no matter what the sickness is I will be healed.

Why pay millions of $$ when everyone will die anyway? What will the money be worth to your family after you're gone anyway? It won't bring you back. It won't compensate for their pain of losing you. Of not having you with them.

Besides doesn't having life insurance store up treasure on earth? And aren't we commanded not to do that? So by having life insurance we are disobeying what Jesus taught.

So think about if you have this insurance and if you don't please get this offer while you still can. Today could be your last day to get it.

Ask & you shall receive. It's waiting for you, it always has been. Free of charge.

If you are interested in this offer of a lifetime and you would like to know more about it, please ask me. It would be a great joy to help you.

I wrote this poem last nite after I wrote this post. It just kinda came to me.

Hope you enjoy!

Have you heard about his wonderful offer?

It's something you definatly need.

It's always been waiting for you.

Grab it while you can.

Forever!

And the benefits are too numerous to name.

It not only covers your life now,

But for all eternity.

It covers both physical & spiritual life.

Now you may ask

"Who is the owner & What is it's name?"

The owner is Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

The name of it is Forgiveness.

The owner gave everything he had

To make this Life Insurance available for you.

What must you do to receive this offer?

Go to your knees right now.

And call out to the owner.

Say, "I'm a sinner"

"Save me"

"I believe in you"

"I want to live for you"

"I love you"

And BAM you are accepted.

No money involved.

And like everything else.

There is a manual.

Written by the owner.

It has all the answers to the questions you have

About this unique Life Insurance.

So don't delay.

It's here for eternity,

But you aren't.

Today could be your last.

The owner loves you.

And wants to cover you now

With his Life Insurance.

Stepping Heavenward by Mrs. E. Prentiss. It changed my life!
Published on June 29, 2006 at 1:42 PM

This Article was published in Reflections of a 16 year old girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

Has anyone ever read: "Stepping Heavenward-One Woman's Journey to Godliness" by Mrs. Elizabeth Prentiss?

I have read it once before and I didn't really understand it, but reading it again is like reading another book.

It is really a great book! I have really grown in the LORD from reading it. I have enjoyed reading about this girl who has become a woman after her husband's and God's hearts.

That is what I want to be!

Here are a few things that struck me as I was reading.

Page 228-229

May 24th, 1843

"I celebrated my little Una’s third birthday by presenting her a new baby brother. Both the children welcomed him with delight that was itself compensation enough for all it cost me to get up a celebration. Martha takes a most prosaic view of this proceeding, in which she detects malice prepense on my part. She says I shall now have one more mouth to feed, and tow more feet to shoe, more disturbed nights, more laborious days, and less leisure or visiting, reading, music, and drawing.

Well! This is one side of the story, to be sure, but I look at the other. Here is a sweet, fragrant mouth to kiss; here are two more feet to make music in my nursery. Here is a soul to train for God; and the body in which it dwells is worth all it will cost, since it is the abode of a kingly tenant. I may see less of my friends, but I have gained one dearer than them all, to whom, while I minister in Christ’s name, I will make a willing sacrifice of what little leisure for my own recreation my other darlings had left me. Yes, my precious baby, you are welcome to your mother’s heart, welcome to her time, her strength, her health, her tenderest cares, to her lifelong prayers! Oh, how rich I am, how truly, how wondrously blest!"

Isn’t that how we all want to feel? I don’t have children yet, but I cannot wait to be married and have a few little ones running about.

No we are not always going to be the mother that takes delight in the wonderful things that she talks about, but we want to. And we will try our hardest to be that mother that thinks all those precious things about our children.

Page 248-249

June, 1844

"Little Ernest was taken sick the day I wrote that. The attack was fearfully sudden and violent. He is still very, very, ill. I have not forgotten that I said once that I would give my children to God should He ask for them. And I will. But, oh, this agony of suspense! It eats into my soul. Oh, my little Ernest! My firstborn son! My pride, my joy, my hope! I thought the worst of my life was over.

Page 249-250

August, 1844

"We have come into the country with what God has left us, our 2 youngest children. Yes, I have tasted the bitter cup of bereavement and drunk it down to its dregs. I gave my darling to God, I gave him, I gave him! But, oh, with what anguish I saw those round, dimpled limbs wither and waste away, the glad smile faded forever from that beautiful face! What a fearful thing it is to be a mother! But I have given my child to the LORD. I would not recall him if I could. I am thankful that He counted me as worthy to present him with such a gift.

I cannot shed a tear, and I must find relief in writing this or I shall lose my senses.

But let me not forget my mercies. Let me not forget that I have a precious husband and 2 darling children and my kind, sympathizing mother still left to me. Above all let me remember God’s lovingkindness and tender mercy. He has not left us to the bitterness of grief that refuses and disdains to be comforted. We believe in Him, we love Him, we worship Him as we never did before.

My dear Ernest has felt this sorrow to his heart’s core. But he has not for one moment questioned the goodness or the love of our Father in thus taking from us the child who promised to be our greatest earthly joy. Our consent to God’s will has drawn us together very closely; together we bear the yoke in our youth, together we pray and sing praises in the very midst of our tears."

I think that she really got the point of giving your children to God. When you dedicate your child to God, then you are giving them to Him. The child is not yours anymore. You were given this child to raise in God. Although she had to keep reminding herself that she gave him, she really got it.

I think that when you lose a child, whether in the womb or in life, you have to be willing to give them to God and remember the joy that you still have: the other children that He has given to you and your husband.

When she says that it is a fearful thing to be a mother, I kinda understand. Not fully because I am not yet a mother, but because when my siblings get hurt I and fearful about them, but I know that if God wants them we as a family are ready to give them to Him.

Page 323-324

September 23rd, 1852

"Home again and full of the thousand cares that follow summer and precede the winter. But let mothers and wives fret as they will; they enjoy these labors of love and would feel lost without them. For what amount of leisure, ease, and comfort would I exchange husband and children and this busy home?"

That is how I hope I feel about my home, husband and children when I am married. Why do we worry about things that are unimportant, when the most important are here living our everyday lives with us? We worry about the house being clean, and the laundry being done and the yard, and simple things that will not last forever, instead of worry about the eternal lives of the children that God has privileged us to be in loving charge of.

There is so much stuff I could go on about, but I think that you should get this book and read it for yourself.

This book helped me turn my life around.

Last June I was ready to leave home. I had my bags packed and had started walking. I was in front of our neighbors, when I came back because my bags were too heavy to carry 3mi. to town.

The wound I had caused in my relationship with my parents wasn’t healed, so this past winter I packed my bags again and called someone I knew to pick me up. I was leaving this life. I was tired of my parents telling me that I could do what I wanted and let me live the way I wanted.

But then from the wise words of my sister, Alatariel, I knew that that was not want God wanted for my life. I knew that if I left that would mean that I was taking myself out of what God had already laid down for me, and putting myself on a different path that who knows what would of happened.

I realized that if I did this I could not only change my future, but the future of my husband’s and my children’s and of the generations of my family. My sins could be the cause of magnitudes of problems for 4 generations. And it says in the Bible that the wages of sin is death. I could be responsible for my death or anyone in my family because I did this. Because of my disobedience, I could cause the next 4 generations of my family to disobey, and then they could get killed because of disobedience. Do you see the pattern my sin could cause? Pain.

So I decided in February that no matter how much I didn’t like what my mom told me or how many fights that we had I was gonna stay here and put up my best fight. Even when I decided that I was going to stay, I was still having problems with my parents.

Then I got out this book and started reading it. I had read about 20 pages when I realized that even though I had decided to stay I was not being a real Godly Christian about it. I was not doing what God wanted me to fully, I was only doing it halfheartedly.

It was then that I just cried out to God and told him that I could not do this on my own. I realized that I did need Him to help me.

That is when things around here got tremendously better with my relationship with my parents.

I think that if you read this book it could help you, possibly change your life around. I know that it did me.

I know that I am now a changed person, even from April, I am changed I see things differently now.

I sometimes don’t like what my parents have to say, that is how it is, but I understand that I have to do it anyway and with a God pleasing attitude.

Please read this book.

If you don’t have it and would like to purchase it, you can at www.soulresteducationalsupplies.com , or you can email me at missamanda@soulresteducationalsupplies.com if you have any questions.

I loved Stepping Heavenward, also!!! It reminds me, I should read it again soon, it's been a while! I was a little wary when it was first gievn to me(oh, no, not another perfect little woman who loves God and never sins book!) but as soon as I read some I knew it was such an incredible book. Really inspired me.

Extra Extra Read All About It! A Reflection of Sisters and Secrets & Goats
Published on June 5, 2006 at 9:31 PM

This Article was published in Reflections of a 16 year old girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

We have GOATS!!!!!

Around 9am on Sunday morning, we got Chloe and Heidi two Nubian dry nannies. They are also sisters. Chloe is light light tan and Heidi is a beautiful collage of browns. They are really cute! and gentle. We had an episode with our dog and the goats, but I wasn't out there so I don't know anything about it!

(Now here is where I am going to ramble on about what I have learned by watching GOATS!!!!!) (whoa is that scary or what?)(And some secrets will be let out to the public) (AAAAUUUUHHHH)

As I was watching them I noticed that they are bosom buddies. If one does one thing then the other has to too. That is how it should be when you are sisters(or brothers). It reminds me of Myrtle and I's relationship. I remember a time when Myrtle and I were not close and how much we hated to have a room together. Now you can hardly find us apart. We do fight sometimes, who doesn't, but we always come back to each other.

I was very upset when I read Myrtle's post called Keep me home where I belong. She said, "I was very hurt that my sis didn't tell me that she had her email and trusted her friends." (You can read the rest of her post at the link above.) I was upset because I had made her feel that way, and I was so oblivious to it. I never knew she felt that way. Even since we have become "Bosom Buddies", she had never said that was how she had felt. That was like running into a brick wall. WOW!!!! I am truly sorry that she felt that way. But like she said she had her friends & I mine. Now we kinda share friends, she doesn't like all my friends still, but we both can do things with each other's friends together now.

The reason I didn't tell her was because I didn't want to put her in the situation I had put myself in. I did not want her to have to lie for me. And I think that she would have made me quit doing it.

I did tell her about the other thing I had did in 2003, and she had a advantage over me. She would always make me do things for her or she would tell on me. So that might have been the other reason I didn't tell her.

Well there, my BIG secret is out I am the "dd" that Mom (JacqueDixon)  is talking about. I know some thought that Myrtle was the "dd" because she posted a comment, but it was me, I admit! That is not the only STUPID thing I have done in the last 5 years. I did a similar thing in 2003. I am still dealing with attitudes and sin that what I did caused. I have learned a lot and have come a LOOOOOONG way from that point, and I still have a LOOOOONG way to go to get to where I need to be. You can read some of the stuff I have learned on my journey here: Sin is like Kryptonite, The One Ring, & Pirates I hope this post will encourage you!

A favorite movie/book series of ours is "Anne of Green Gables" by L.M. Montgomery. She has a "Bosom friend" named Diana. That is how Myrtle and I are now. (All the Anne of Green Gable books can be purchased at SoulRest Educational Supplies, along with all your homeschool needs)

We watched "Yours, Mine, & Ours" (2006) last nite. We realized that when you are made to be together, even if you hate each other, then you would come to luv each other by being with them all the time. A really good family movie!

I luv my sister more than I can say. I hope she never feels like that again. She is really a GRRRRRREEEEAAATTT HOBBIT/ELF!

I hope that you can be encouraged and lifted in spirits by this post and may it help you on your journey to a better relationship with your sister(or brother) and a better, greater relationship with God.

Thank you for spending your precious time to read the ramblings of a 16-year-old girl who is trying to become a woman seeking the way of God.

I can only hope to become as much as a blessing as all the people I meet here are to me. So THANK YOU.

Thanks for stopping by "Daily" at the "Planet"!

Luv

Hey, thanks for visiting my blog! So you're Jacque's other daughter! Great to meet you. I think all kids do some dumb stuff growing up. That's how we learn when we're too stubborn to listen to our parents! haha.

I love Anne of Green Gables........my favorite books and movie! You're soo lucky to have sisters to be close to. I never had a sister........

Thanks for sharing all that. I have really felt that my sister (Legolas) and I have become the closest that we have ever been in the past year and it sure is great to have a close friend that you can trust and share things with. Before I think I did not quite realize how important it is to have a close relationship with my sister but I have been learning. We all learn that stuff as we grow. I am sure you are very glad that you have a sister too.

All for You
Published on April 18, 2006 at 6:58 PM

This Article was published in Reflections of a 16 year old girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

I think this song is a great Easter song. It's one of my favs. Makes me want to cry everytime I hear it. It is everything Easter stands for. It's by Jonah33. The cd this is off of is all about song like this. It really is AWESOME!
Hope you are all as blessed as I am to hear these encouraging words

Luv @m@nd@

His time with Him that stopped;

its time for Him to carry out His Father’s will.

He said He’d drink this cup.

He’s told them all along that He would go;

they could not follow Him,

but He’ll be back for them my friend.

And now He sweats these drops of blood

and He prays “take this cup from Me”

but He knows there’s no other way.

His Father’s will, He said He’d take your sin,

your shame, your place upon that cross of pain and die for you.

There’s no way to repay all the pain he went through for you.

His reason- simply his love. Its time to see the truth-

understand there’s nothing you can do.

His reason- is simply you.

It was all for, it was all for you.

He bled and died for you.

We live by grace through faith alone with Jesus Christ

who died to set us free through change; our flesh can give.

You know that even if you were the only one He died for,

that means only your sins drove the nails.

There’s no way to repay all the pain He went through for you.

His reason- simply His love. Its time to see the truth-

understand there’s nothing you can do. His reason- is simply you.

It was all for, it was all for you. He bled and died for you.

It was all for, it was all for you. He bled and He died for you.

No time to hesitate my friend. No time to second guess His love.

There’s nothing else that you can do. He already gave it all for you.

All for you. All for you. All for you. All for you. Simply you.

It was all for, it was all for you. He bled and died for you.

It was all for, it was all for you. He bled and He died for you.

All for you. All for you. All for you.

You don't like the music? :( Oh well, I guess I'll just switch the music now and then (I have 3 or 4 different songs) :)
Other people's way of writing is alot better (like dragontounge's for example).
But I admit my story is predictable. But I think it is cool anyway. I also wrote these stories over a year ago.

Hey Amanda, sorry I haven't been here for a while, this is a very good song! I haven't heard it but once or twice, I should have it on CD.....

Did your mom tell you we're practically neighbors! It would only take me a little over an hour to get to your house! We use to live about 20 minutes from you! Small world huh!

Looking forward to getting together with you all one of these days!
