Children Are Gifts!

I heard such exciting news last week! A sweet friend found out they were expecting their first baby! I. AM. THRILLED!
If you know me, you know how much I LOVE children! Seriously. I have always had a baby in my arms whether real or a doll. I have always loved babysitting, working in the nursey, just doing anything that has to do with babies. I am so excited and so looking forward to having my own children... it almost too exciting to wait for. ;)
Loving children as much as I do and wanting my own so much, it breaks my heart to see babies and children who cry and are not wanted. I found out a friend who I used to attend church with is pregnant and the little green monster popped his head in my heart. She is unmarried and not following a Biblical lifestyle, yet she has been given this amazing gift of bringing a life into the world. Not fair.
Then I was at the library last week and I saw a young mother in the rocking chair with about a 3month old baby. The mother looked about my age, maybe younger and unmarried. She laid the precious babe in her carseat after feeding her her bottle and the baby started to cry. I then heard the mother say, "G-D would you shut up!" It broke my heart hearing and brings tears to my eyes typing it out. :( that poor baby! I wanted to go pick it up and hold it and love it, but instead I said a prayer of protection for it and continued my business.
Driving home I kept thinking how unfair it was that these unmarried girls would get the honor and privilege of caring for and raising this precious child when there are so many who want babies yet do not have them.
Children are such a precious thing and it is such a privilege to be given a child to rear and bring up in the Lord. Psalm 127:3
Children too are a gift from ADONAI; the fruit of the womb is a reward. The children born when one is young are like arrows in the hand of a warrior. How blessed is the man who has filled his quiver with them; he will not have to be embarrassed when contending with foes at the city gate.
It is so sad that people don't view children as a gift and blessing. So many times people say they wish they could do something to change the future... what more could you do for the future than raise children to have the same views as you? Children are the future. Unfortunately, the Muslims have this concept down. They have loads of children that they are raising up to follow in jihad, thus their population is skyrocketing. While the Christians are having their 2.5 children, and not training them in the way of the Lord and well our numbers are few. This may seem harsh to some, but we need to wake up and realize it. It's time for us to realize that children are a reward and who doesn't want a reward? :) If children are a blessing, don't you want to be blessed? I know I do.

There Is Always Hope!
Published on September 5, 2009 at 1:17 PM
This Article was published in Reflections of a 19 year old Girl
Hope. It's hard to describe what hope is, I think. I really love the description of what hope is... it gives me hope just to read it :)
Hope
A desire of some good, accompanied with at least a slight expectation of obtaining it, or a belief that it is obtainable. Hope differs from wish and desire in this, that it implies some expectation of obtaining the good desired, or the possibility of possessing it. Hope therefore always gives pleasure or joy; whereas wish and desire may produce or be accompanied with pain and anxiety. I think that is just a beautiful way to put it! I've been learning that we must keep hope even when it seems that whatever we are hoping for is all but lost. The Bible even says:
Proverbs 13:12
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
When it seems all hope is lost, our hearts are heavy and down and it is hard to be hopefully for things we have waited or are waiting so long for. It seems like there is no hope left is when the Lord will show us to keep holding onto hope.
 Ecclesiastes 9:4
For as long as a person is linked with the living, there is hope.
As long as you're living you will hope and as long as you're living there will be hope for those hopes to happen.
Hope goes hand in hand with trust. You can't have trust without hope.
Hebrews 11:1
Trusting is being confident of what we hope for, convinced about things we do not see.
We need to continue trusting in our hopes. It's much easier to believe something when we see it then when we don't.
Romans 8:24
But if we see what we hope for, it isn't hope - after all, who hopes for what he already sees?
It takes more to believe and hope for something when you can't see it, it also makes you trust and hope in God more. So... where do you put that hope though? Do you put it in material, yourself, or God?
Psalm 27:14
Put your hope in ADONAI, be strong, and let your heart take courage! Yes, put your hope in ADONAI!
Psalm 37:34
Put your hope in ADONAI, keep to his way, and he will raise you up to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
Psalm 38:15
For it is in you, ADONAI, that I hope. You will answer, Adonai my God.
He knows our hopes and desires and He will answer us in His timing and with His answer. Just remember to continue to hope even when it seems lost!
Romans 12:12
Rejoice in your hope, be patient in your troubles, and continue steadfastly in prayer.
Remaining Hopeful Always,

A Heavy Heart
Published on August 10, 2009 at 2:27 PM
This Article was published in Reflections of a 19 year old Girl
My heart is heavy. My dear 90yo great grandpa fell multiple times last month with the last fall putting him in the hospital and then a nursing home. :( He also has cancer and other health problems.
We went up to see him yesterday and when we got to his room I was sure we were at the wrong room because I did not recognize him and when I saw his name tag on the door, my heart sank! He has changed so much since I saw him last and I'm just so sad. He is on medication that has done this to him... not only has it changed him physically, but the meds make him hallucinate and he has said some pretty horrible things that he thinks has happened! We didn't end up getting to see him because he was out cold sleeping, but it might have been for the better right now.
It just breaks my heart because my Grandpa has such a special place in my heart. After I completed his armed service album for him, and we talked about his harrowing experiences, he and I became very close. I am glad to know tho that he knows Jesus but its just so hard to see him the way he is and I really am so heartbroken by what is happening.
Please pray for us as we go through this difficult time and also for clear direction on being able to help them. Since Grandpa is in the nursing home, Grandma is at home all my herself. She doesn't want to bring him home because she cannot take care of him if something happens and she doesn't want to feel helpless. So if he stays at a nursing home, she will be alone. We don't want him to stay in the nursing home on all those drugs that aren't helping. We already lost a Great Grandma from mistreatment at a nursing home and we don't want that to happen again.
We are trying to figure out how we can help them whether its having them come to our house or having one of us girls stay with Grandma.
We all are just so sad by this and could really use your prayers.

Morning Glory

Exodus 16:7
"In the morning, you will see ADONAI's glory."
That is one of the gorgeous morning glory flowers that bloom every August on the fence by the well. As I was walking out yesterday morning and saw them the thought occurred to me about just what a beautiful thing they are.
In the morning, we see God's glory in Morning Glories. Morning Glories only bloom in the morning just as the sun is coming up and they bloom towards the sun. I want to be like a morning glory and turn my face to the Son and bloom in His light, so that His glory can be shown to everyone. Glory is praise, honor and adoration and that is the goal of my life should be: to bring praise and honor to our Lord!

Wordless Wednesday: Looking To The Future
Published on August 5, 2009 at 3:04 AM

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know what plans I have in mind for you,' says ADONAI, 'plans for well-being, not for bad things; so that you can have hope and a future."
Proverbs 23:18
"Then you will have a future; what you hope for will not be cut off."
No need to fear, God is always here. He has great plans for our lives. Plans for amazing things so our hope and future will not be cut off! What a promise to hold on to!
Waiting on God for my hope and future,

Wait...
Published on August 1, 2009 at 4:34 PM
This Article was published in Reflections of a 19 year old Girl
Oh! Its so hard to wait for things in life. We wait for food to get finished making, wait for clothes to wash and dry, wait for things to grow, wait for things to start, wait for things to end, wait for new things, wait for things to end, wait for the future, etc. I believe that life's purpose is learning to wait.
I have an exceedingly hard time waiting for things.I'm very impatient and want things done now. This year, God has really shown me that I need to wait. Wait on so many things and its so hard. But I have learned through experiences and through the Scriptures that when we wait, God is faithful to us and will bring us out of the waiting time we are going through.... eventually... in His perfect time.
Psalm 40:1
"I waited patiently for ADONAI, till he turned toward me and heard my cry."
When we learn to wait and wait patiently with hope, God will hear us and see us and will deliver us.
Psalm 37:7
"Be still before ADONAI; wait patiently till he comes."
We must learn to be still and wait for Him. We have hope and promise that He will come, so just keep that in mind and dwell on it.
Psalm 130:5
"I wait longingly for ADONAI; I put my hope in his word."
Wait on ADONAI and He will come. We have His Word is our comfort and we can trust and hope in it. While we are waiting getting into His Word is the best thing you can to. It helps you stay focused on why you're waiting, it encourages you to wait patiently and most importantly... its God's letter to you. His own words right there for you to read and learn and grow from. Awesome, isn't it?
I know its so not easy to wait on things... its the biggest struggle I have in my life, but we must wait patiently on God to bring about His will in our lives. Even if its not what we want. I don't want to wait. I hate waiting. But its what I've got to do, because that's life and I know that there are lessons for me to learn and areas for me to grow in as I wait.
His plan is perfect and that should be what we want too. Any waiting period not only brings us to want His perfect will, but it will bring us closer to Him and through a waiting period we learn to trust in Him with our everything!
Still learning to wait,
