Why Can't We Do What We Are Supposed To??
Published on October 17, 2007 at 10:26 AM

This Article was published in What the Bible means to me-a 17 year old Girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

For my last year of high school I don't have much I have to do. But one thing my Mom is making me finish is Polished Cornerstones by Pam Forster. A couple of years ago, there is NO WAY I would have sit down and done this work, let alone enjoyed it. I would have just set at the table til I frustrated my Mom so much that she would just tell me to go away and not have to do it. Man, that is really hard to write and read. Ouch... I wish I could go back and kick myself to wake up and be who I am supposed to. Guess you live and learn.
Anyway, we are working on the first chapter now, and it is all about becoming "A Godly Woman". I have gone over so much scripture on this topic. I has really been great to read it all. One of the verses I have been reading is one I think we all know and love:
Titus 2:3-5
"The aged woman likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things.
That they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children.
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed."

And as I was reading reading it over and over, I was starting to get angry. Not at the verse itself, but because that is NOT how the "aged women" are.
They do not teach the younger women, well at least not the right things. And the younger women do not want to be taught.
The "aged women" nowadays are too worried at belonging to clubs, going shopping, making sure they look young by their clothes, and their hair and makeup and tans, and nails and blah blah blah. They care more about if they have a more expense car than the neighbor and what people think of them. They care about their social status.
If they would forego those things we would have young women who knew how to love and train their children, to love and submit to their own husbands, to be keepers at home, to be chaste, obedient, etc.
We would probably have more married couples who would have stayed together, if they "aged women" taught the young wives she was supposed to submit and love her own husband in all things.  Most couples now get divorced in the first 5 years of marriage. Is that sad or what??
By the way, I love that: "obedient to their own husbands". Did you catch that word, "own"?? They are not supposed to be obedient to any man, just their own. Which if she is working she can't do that, huh??
My Mom and I were just talking the other day about how I won't have the excuse, "I didn't know any better. No one taught me." that she has. She was in tears as she told me how when she got saved her pastor, his wife, nor anyone else taught her what the Bible says. They didn't teach her that she should not play softball when she has 2 little children to care for.  She paid dearly for that sin. She broke her leg very badly. God always shows us what we need to change and tho it may be painful, we must do it.
They didn't teach her that she should love and submit to her husband completely. So now after having many hardships and troubles, she is just learning this. Altho it is sad that she wasn't taught and helped when she should have been, I can rejoice in the fact that she now knows all this and can teach it to me, so I can do what I am supposed to and not have the same troubles and hardships she has had.
I am praying for all the "aged women" that they come to realize that they are not following the Biblical mandate that they should be filling and that they fill it. We need the "aged women" to teach us younger women. How will we learn unless someone teaches us?? How can we teach unless we are taught to??
To all of the older women I know, I pray for you daily. That you may have the opportunities to teach the younger women and that you will do it.
To all the younger woman I know, I pray for you daily. That you may have a teachable spirit and learn something from the "aged women".
I am thankful I have a Mom, who will take the time to teach me not only academics, but character training and much more. I am thankful to all the Mom blogs I read because I glean something from your experiences. I am thankful for all the "aged women", I know and have come to love that are setting a good example for me.
Whether your experiences are good or bad, just know that there are young women who will learn from them.
We need to get back to doing what we are supposed to that God has mandated us for.
As Always,

Wow, a long post, but I enjoyed every bit. I like the longer posts; they give you more to read. Here is a Proverb that is about the virtuous woman:

Proverbs 31:9-31--

9 Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy."
Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

10 A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.

11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.

12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.

14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.

18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.

21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

29 "Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

31 Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

I just thought that I would hand that to you, since you were kinda in that subject in your post. Np about the award and thx. Yes we aught to do as we should. Ttyl and God bless.

Great post as always Amanda!! I often wish that I had had a more active Mom...She homeschooled us, but it was a matter of handing us the books and saying "go to it"...If I had a problem, it was always Dad that helped me....I can't really remember my Mom teaching me much of anything, except craft things. I did a post about this not long ago...http://prairierosesamongthorns.com/vblog/2007/10/09/memories-of-old

Now that I'm a parent, I realize how much I don't know, but want to teach my girls. I feel lost, and unprepared to be a parent...

I sent you an email about the SSA, just so you know.

Yeah, me too. I wish I had a mom willing to teach me that. I am still struggling to learn that stuff. Yeah, in society today, schools teach people to be individuals, which is okay except that most teachers are from the 60s era and believe no one should stop someone from doing what they want to do and that adults are the enemy. They teach children to defy all authority, to question everything. With God's help, I will get to the point I understand much better. Hope all is well.
Sat, the 27th. That'd be awesome to come, but there's no way my parents will let me go to IN 6 hours away for an 18th b'day party. = ( I would LOVE to come. It'd be nice to meet u n ur family! = ) Darn, if only we lived closer. Well, I will wish a happy b'day anyway. God Bless

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you, with all my heart, for your kind words of support and witness on the Publisher's blog - Home Where They Belong. Especially in light of "Anonymous" and the arguements "she" tries to start. You witness as a Christian homeschooler is so valuable and your attitude and manner are just the things that we are trying to convince her concerning homeschooling and that it's NOT all about academics. It's about godly character, PROPER socialization as a good citizen and a person who not only values their family, but will value the family God will give them in the future.

You are a blessing and I just wanted to tell you.

Hey it has been a long time since I have been on here, sorry for that I have been really busy. It sounds like you and your mother are learning a lot together and from each other. That is how I think it should be that the younger woman learns mainly from the older women. Though, in turn the older women has an open heart and respectfully learns important life truths from the younger. Have a great day, Jed

Good points Amanda! Commenting on the top of the entry where you said "live and learn."

I really think that is true. Plus God has said "EVERYTHING has a purpose." That means that nothing! Not even evil is devoid of a purpose. God positively uses everything that that happens in our lives as long as we are in his will. Just think if some of your experiences hadn't happened to you before, you might have had to learn them now at an older and riskier age.

Anyway, just my thoughts.

I still claim that there is nothing wrong with geese in the pool ;)

There is a Problem here...
Published on July 18, 2007 at 4:44 PM

This Article was published in What the Bible means to me-a 17 year old Girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

There has been a controversy going on here on HSB. My little sis, gave a blogger a not-so-very-nice review and that blogger blogged about it. She had tried to get the review removed before anyone saw it, but she wasn't quick enough. (If she had asked me, well, we all know I could do it "faster than a speeding bullet".) My sister confessed she left the review and publicly apologized for giving it. Her review was correct, but not written in a loving manner. She wanted to warn people from going to his blog, because he does not blog the truth and many bloggers feel he is leading many "teens" astray because teens like him and his blog so much.

Chris, who was the blogger who received the bad review, posted his beliefs awhile back. There are MANY bloggers, young adults and adults alike who totally disagree with what he believes. And we all just wanted Chris to know we like him as a person, but we don't like his blog and don't want people going to it because of his beliefs.

Paulie has even blogged about this. He did a wonderful job of bringing in the Word to this while ordeal.

I thought I would write Chris a comment, and I didn't want to take over his comment section, so I just decided to post it on my blog and share why Chris's beliefs DO NOT line up with the Word of God.

This is what Chris believes:

I believe that Christianity as a religion, is deeply corrupt and flawed.

I believe that being gay is not a sin, but that being a practicing gay is a sin.

It shows symbols from many different forms of worship including Islam, Judaism, Shinto, and Christianity. It is a symbol popularized by U2. It is a call for members of all creeds to live together in peace and harmony. In other words, to "Coexist". I believe one day this will happen, and I plan to do my part to make it happen.

Chris, I think you are a nice person, but being a nice person doesn't make you right nor your beliefs right either. There are many things wrong with your beliefs. I know you are not going to change your mind by what I, Paulie, Jocelyn, or anyone else say, but I am charged as a Believer of the Word to share the gospel with all who do not know. And by what you have said you believe, it leads me to believe that you do not know what the Word says. "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 15:15)

I want you, Chris, to give me some references as to why you believe what you believe. So far you have just stated your opinions. You know what they say about those... EVERYONE has one. You have given no Biblical proof as to why you believe what you believe. I know you just want us all to "coexist" with our beliefs, but the Bible says otherwise. Here is what the Bible says about your beliefs.

You said that Christianity is flawed. I agree to some extent. Christianity today as a religion IS flawed, and most of it hypocritical. We have gotten far away from what the early Christianity believers believed. But if you believe on Jesus Christ and that he saved you from going to hell, then what religion would you call that, if you believe that Christianity is flawed?? You cannot want to have a religion that is flawed. That would go against the verse, "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Tim. 2:15)

And do you mean that Christianity as it was back in the Apostle Paul's day is flawed?? Flawed from the start??

You cannot only believe the parts of the Bible you want. You have to believe in it as a whole. You cannot take out what parts you agree with and leave the rest ‘cause you don't like what it says. If you believe in the Bible, you believe in the WHOLE Bible. "You shall not add to the word which I have given you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I commanded you." (Deut. 4:2)

If you believe the Bible to be true, then you believe that it is SIN for a man to be with a man. "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination" (Lev. 18:22) Or even to lust after another man. The Bible says "Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her he has already committed adultery in his heart with her." (Matt. 5:28). So if a man looks at a man to lust for him, but doesn't do anything, then he has already committed sin with that person. So you don't have to practice gay activities to be gay. Gay is gay. Bottom line. You cannot be gay and not be gay. There is no way.

If you believe in the Bible, then you must believe that only through Jesus Christ can you be saved. There is no other way. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you and your household shall be saved." (Acts 16:31)

Religions cannot "coexist". It is NOT possible. Islam won't coexist with ant other religion. They believe that if you are not Islamic they are to kill you.
Religions cannot coexist. "There will be false teachings among you, who secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord Jesus who bought them and bring on themselves swift destruction." (2 Pet. 2:1b)

If you do not believe the above, then you DO NOT believe the Bible. Everything I have said is taken from the Bible. They are not my opinions.

I would not encourage anyone to go to Chris's blog. His beliefs DO NOT line up the the Word of God. I would hate to see anymore people lead astray because he is the "hsb hub for teens", and many of those "teens", thinks he knows what he is talking about.
We are called to be set apart from the world, not be in it. It is a long, hard, and lonely road, but it is one we called to follow. Choose wisely what road you will be taking. It starts now as a "teen", not when you become an adult.

I choose the long, hard, lonely road of believing ONLY the Bible, not my opinions. "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." (Matt. 8:13-14)

"Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able" (Luke 13:24)

As Always...

Although Tostustus (sp?) thinks that the homosexuality oppinion was just a mis-understanding, he has posted his thoughts on homosexual marriage before. He was asked , "What do you think about homosexual marriage?" his answer was this : "I think it is so gay! lol. Yeah not funny. It is against God's word, but I believe it should be legalized. In the U.S. we should have freedom to sin, as long as we are not hurting others. It is not the government's job to keep this country moral."

Anyways, I thought I would post his oppinion on that, so you knew.

Amanda,
I can't tell you how wonderful you wrote this entry! I agree with ALL you said, and I'm so glad you did this...

I haven't read Chris' blog entry---so I'm so glad you wrote this to tell everybody else. Of course, I do think Chris is a nice person like you said, but you're right: from what you showed, his beliefs are not true. I can't say everyone is going to agree on everything about each other's thoughts, but his beliefs as a Christian are directly aganist the Bible, and you just proved that also.

About the pop up: for my opinon, I don't think you need it at all. No offense. You see, I usually use the "back" button, so I have to push it twice.

Have a wonderful day!

However, I believe his comment about homosexuality was completely misunderstood, and he has confirmed this in comments on my page and Paul's page. Please read my latest post and give me your thoughts.

Okay, I'll try to make this as simple as I can, to avoid confusion.

I'm not Chris' personal defender or anything, but he has said in his comments that he agrees with what I'm saying. So, regardless of how poorly he worded his original statement, I think he thinks the same as me.

This is what I think: homosexual activity, and homosexual lust are both sins that go against the Bible. I'm not trying to refute what you have said, because what you have said is correct. All I'm trying to establish is that being tempted to lust homosexually or do homosexual things is not a sin unless you yield to the temptation. And in my latest post I provide a lot of Scripture to back that up.

Hope that helps. :)

~Timothy

He does need somebody there to show him he is wrong but yall are doing it in the wrong way. He will not change his mind as long as you keep on trying to get it to him so meanly. I think you should do it in a nicer way and you will probally get a better response and result!

Your friend,
Serena Wilson

The comment I left before this one was meant for the comment you left on his blog! This post was very nice. I am glad that You used scripture to back up your argument. I think Chris does need to rethink this over. I will remain his friend and continue to visit his blog but that does not mean I have to agree with him.

Hi from LizBeth's mom. This was well said. One other verse (sorry, I'm terrible with references) is "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."

You've done a great job standing for Christ, Christianity, and your little sister!

Hey there, I just wanted to say that I agree with you wholeheartedly.
As I said previously on your sisters blog, I do not know him well enough to post about it, but if I did, I probably would opened my mouth and embarrassed myself. You guys are doing so great at representing our Savior and basing your arguments on legitimate scripture with love.
Keep building these foundations,

Moses’ Biography

(Taken from the TruthQuest Inductive Student Bible)

As I stand over the place where I disputed with the devil over the body of Moses,(Jude 1:9) I have to admit that my Sovereign still amazes me with kinds of humans He chooses to use in His service. As the archangel of the Lord, I don’t put up with a lot of nonsense from anybody. These humans are forever blessed that my Sovereign displays such grace and mercy to them. Moses’ life is filled with examples of this grace and mercy.
I was there when Moses, the Hebrew infant, was born into slavery, placed in a papyrus basket, and set among the bulrushes in the Nile River near the Egyptian capital, Memphis. I saw to it that Pharaoh’s daughter found the basket and adopted him, treating him as her own and raising him with all he privileges granted with the Egyptian royalty. I was also there years later when the young Moses killed an Egyptian for abusing an Israelite. I watched him bury the man secretly in the sand. I couldn’t help but wonder, My Sovereign, are You sure this is the man You still choose to free your people from slavery?
He was sure—but before that day could occur, I was instructed to put the man through forty years of desert hardship. That’s where Moses fled after his murder was made known. Eventually, My Sovereign made this Moses into the leader of the Hebrews, using him to bring ten plagues on Egypt and forcing the release of the Sovereign’s Chosen People. Through this man the Sovereign gave His commands to the world—commands which Israel almost instantly broke. Yet He shows them both grace and mercy! It amazes me. What my Sovereign now requires with this man’s body I can only guess at—but I will refrain. I am Michael, the archangel, and I do not question my Sovereign’s orders. I still cannot understand how these humans dare to do so.

Sincerely
    -Michael

Joseph-A Man of Many Gifts
Published on December 2, 2006 at 9:10 PM

This Article was published in What the Bible means to me-a 17 year old Girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

I know I have not done one of these in forever, so I thought I would start them back up again. Here is the link for the others I have done already: What the Bible means to me-a 16 year old Girl on her way to becoming a Woman of God

The goal, I hope, for these posts is to strengthen you in your walk, for you to get a double portion of what is in the Word, to give a little of history, and to maybe even give you new info that you haven’t read or seen before.

So to start back up I am going to be talking about Joseph.

As I was reading his story, these are a few things that I gained from it. We have all heard the story in church or in movies, but when reading about him, I noticed a few more things that what I had been taught.

Joseph had a really hard life. He had to move a lot when he was young. His mother died when he was young. He had 11 other brothers, not to mention sisters.

In his youth his brothers hated him because of his father’s favoritism of him. That jealousy was so bad that they sold him into slavery. The Bible doesn’t give every much info about him being in the slave caravan, but I wonder what we was thinking.

He was now a slave. He went from being the son of a man who wrestled with God, to being a slave in Potiphar’s house. WOW!! That must have taken a lot out of him. But he kept his trust in God to bring him safely through this mess.

Being a slave in Potiphar’s house and having the knowledge that God had given him, he rose from a slave to a manager of Potiphar’s home. A Hebrew slave was in charge of a very rich and powerful Egyptian’s home, money and all his belongs. That sure is a far cry from the Joseph that first came to Egypt, a scared young adult far from his home. He changed in some ways, but was the same in many ways too.

He was in charge of Potiphar’s home, doing what he is supposed too, and then it all comes crashing down. Again.

Potiphar’s wife decides she doesn’t want to be faithful to her husband. She wants the nice young man who has this sense around him of being more (having the spirit of God) than everyone in Egypt. So when she pushes herself on him and he resists, she lies to cover to make sure she isn’t the one to blame and Joseph gets sent to prison.

I wonder, Joseph was a trustworthy man and I am sure he didn’t lie, so why would Potiphar put him in prison?? He knew that his wife was lying. But I suppose that he didn’t want to look like a man who had a unfaithful wife, so he blamed the Hebrew slave. In the Dreamworks movie, Joseph: A Man of Dreams, It shows that Potiphar believe Joseph but he still put him in prison, for his appearance. I wonder if that is what happened.

Joseph was in prison for 2 long years. But his attitude NEVER changed. He had the same attitude as the one he had at his father’s house, as he did in the slave caravan, as he did in the slave blocks in Egypt, as he did being a slave in Potiphar’s house, as he did being Potiphar’s manager, and he did when he was first sentenced to prison.

He treats everyone in that prison the same way he treated his father, the slave drivers, and Potiphar. Therefore winning everyone’s favor and respect. And again, he rises to the be in charge of the whole prison.

It is VERY hard to maintain that kind of balance in your attitude. We get upset because someone bagged our groceries wrong, or someone passes us on the highway. Look at Joseph’s life. His attitude stayed the same no matter what.

Then after the 2 years, he gets a summons to go to Pharaoh. Pharaoh needs some dreams interpreted, and a man, whom Joseph already interpreted his dreams, and the prison master both recommend him.

He goes to Pharaoh and tells him what they mean. The Pharaoh is relieved and disturbed by this. Joseph then offers his wisdom from Above, and tells Pharaoh what the best way to deal with this problem. Pharaoh, seeing the wisdom of Joseph and the man he is, appoints him to be in charge of this huge responsibility and Egypt. After he grants him his freedom. Joseph, wanting so very badly to go home and tell his family he is fine and alive, sacrifices himself and helps Pharaoh save his people.

For 14 years Joseph takes care of Egypt. Then during the 7 of famine, as he is passing out the notes that give food to the people, he sees 10 familiar faces: His brothers.

When he sees them, he pretends not to know them. He acts rough toward them like an Egyptian would, not because of what they did, but because he wanted to know if they recognized him. They didn’t.

I wonder what Joseph felt like; when his brothers who he grew up with don’t even recognize the brother they sold.

He pretends to act like they are spies in order to gain information on his family. Then he puts them in prison for 3 days. All the while they are thinking this is happening because of what they did to Joseph. He is standing listening to them talk about it. They don’t know it though, as he spoke through a translator to them. Reuben tells his other brothers that they should have listened to him, by not selling Joseph.

After he left the prison he went to his room and wept.

I can’t imagine what he is feeling, but I can see him just crying. He has not seen these betrayers for years, and yet I bet he was filled with so much love just by seeing them.

After awhile he went back to them and let them all go except Simeon, who he kept as leverage til the others brought Benjamin back to him. He sent them back with the grain they requested and the money that they had paid for it.

After much discussion with Jacob, the brothers are finally on their way back to Egypt with Benjamin. Joseph had kept Simeon well fed, and in good condition.

When the brothers arrive in Egypt, and Joseph sees Benjamin, he can hardly contain himself. He holds a banquet in honor of him. He releases Simeon. During the banquet, he watches everyone- taking in his family.

When he sends them on their way he hides his cup in Benjamin’s bag as a test for the other brothers. When he threatens to take Benjamin as a slave, they give their lives for him. Much changed from that time so long ago when they gave his life for money.

I bet he prayed that they hearts would change towards their half brothers. I bet he felt relieve when he saw that act.

After he sees what they have done, he is moved and reveals himself. They are in awe! They are ashamed. They are afraid of what Joseph might do to them. But he comforts their fears. He makes them go and get Jacob to come live with him in Goshen. Life was good.

Joseph had a lot of trust in God to be able to go through all that. I only hope that I can attain just a tenth of the trust that Joseph showed through out his life.

If you think about it Joseph faced many of the problems that we face today. He faced being picked on by siblings, being put out by them (although I don’t think that anyone now a days would sell their bro or sis into slavery). He was made to work at a job, he was tempted to keep his purity, his integrity, he was then falsely accused of an act he didn’t commit, was sentenced for it, he served for it.

Joseph has to be one of the best role models that we can use to be the man or woman that God is creating.

There is a lot more in Joseph’s life than the one that Sunday School teacher teaches or a Christian movie tells. There are so many more lessons that we can learn from him that they don’t teach.

Joseph was a man that pushed against all odds and beat them. He trusted God all through it knowing that it would end for the better, even when it looked like he was alone. He kept his faith, his good attitude, and his integrity.

I wonder why the brothers treated their half brothers from Rachel like they did. Most of them didn’t have the same mother any way. But they stuck together and outed Rachel’s. I know how children are, and I don’t think that think of those things on their own. I think that maybe they were influenced by mothers, who were jealous. Therefore their mothers are partly responsible for Joseph’s troubles.

I hope that this makes you want to take a little more time when you read the story of Joseph.

I know that now when I read my Bible I try to read it a couple times just to make sure that I don’t miss anything that the Lord wants me to remember.

Great post about Joseph! You're right...we can only wonder about what he was feeling when all of that was going on.

I'm more than halfway through David Copperfield...chapter 40 I think. So far I've really enjoyed it. I love how Dickens develops his characters. Some of them are quite funny.

Thanks for your comment,

Joseph’s Biography

(Taken from the TruthQuest Inductive Student Bible)

It’s easy to be Pharaoh when you have someone like Joseph around to take care of things. He is an amazing administrator---that’s why I have him running Egypt for me---but how he came to me is an incredible story. I can hardly believe it myself.
One night I had two strange and terrible dreams; nightmares you might call them. I was convinced they had to mean something, but none of my court magicians could give me any clues. Then one of my servants described a man he had met in prison who could interpret dreams; I sent for him immediately. He was a Hebrew slave who was in jail for over two years on what I found out later was a false accusation of rape. When I told him I had heard he could interpret dreams, he surprised me. “It is beyond my power to do this,” he said, “but God will tell you what is means and will set you at ease.” True to his word, he did explain my dreams. He told me that Egypt should have seven great harvests followed by seven years of famine and that I should choose a wise man to store up food against the coming hard times.
Since I couldn’t think of anyone wiser than him, I appointed this man, Joseph, to be my second in command. He prepared Egypt for the famine and brought us through it with flying colors. During that time he was even reunited with his long-lost family from Canaan! I was so happy with him that I gave his family some land in the north of Egypt, called Goshen.
What a gift Joseph has been to me!

Sincerely
    -Pharaoh

Stayed tuned for more on Joseph. Coming on Saturday!!
