We were blessed abundantly today, so much so that it would amaze you if I catalogued it all. Buster received a birthday gift from his auntie this morning. We were given scads of big girl clothes and shoes. And just now, I came home from a friend's house with a couple of "new" bikes and many other toys as well!
We didn't get any unit study in today. It took me all morning to get ready for the big girls' dentist appointment. At the dentist, I met a woman who was considering homeschooling next year, so I gave her the GHEA webpage address and told her about the upcoming convention. Several other people in the waiting room also spoke positively about homeschooling. One woman piped up and said her DIL was homeschooling and it did wonders for the training of the children. How wonderful, to live in a world where homeschooling is no longer considered anti-social! Thank you, thank you, to all the homeschooling pioneers out there who have forged the way!
From there, to the local McDonald's as a treat, where I met another woman who will be homeschooling her kindergartener next year and is joining our homeschool group.
My kids love the dentist, by the way. Buster cried when I told him he and Scrub had to wait until Friday to see the dentist. Why they scheduled us two days apart, I'm not sure.
On the way home, we stopped off to see a friend who was visiting from Atlanta. She is staying with another family for the week, doing odd jobs for them. We showed her our new baby brother and gave and received many hugs. She had originally intended to stay with us, but did not have transportation to & from this family's home, so this is all we get to see of her during this visit. :(
Well, I have lots and lots of new things to put away. Mr. Pudge is having a bit of a feed, and after that I need to get this crazy crew into bed. They are a bit wild right now. Thank goodness we don't have anywhere to go tomorrow! We can unit- study and put-away to our hearts' content (well, to my heart's content). I have many, many thank-you notes to write!!
Later!

And HOW COOL were the presents of bikes! I have a friend in KS who shops rich folk's yard sales so much, she mails me boxes of clothes for my boys, too. Way cool friends, eh?
