Susie-Q&A

• Apr. 23, 2006 - Attended Church This Morning

Believe me, that is a headline.

We haven't been in weeks...longer than that, really.  Months now.

We went to a Baptist church where a few of our friends are members.  I'm not a Baptist (I'm pretty sure about that...right now I'm denominationally confused), but, you gotta go somewhere.  I can't just sit at home Sundays.  The church-going habit is too ingrained.  And there's that "fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ" thing.

The folks were nice, I recognized many people from the community, and the older children enjoyed children's church.  I wouldn't have minded their staying with us in church, but they wanted to go.  Mopsy and Pudge stayed with us.

I don't know if we'll go to this church next week or visit another.  It's up to DH.  I miss "my" church like crazy, but I'd rather be with DH any Sunday.  "Whither thou goest," etc.

Now, to yet another Baptist church for Awana.

BTW, Mom brought over the finished skirt just now.  I'll try to model it for the digicam.

Later!

I think the first Sunday is always the hardest. I hope you'll find a church to call "home" real soon. I am Baptist but I was curious why you described yourself as denominationally confused? Can I help?

I'll be praying for you guys as you seek a new church. That sounds like the most difficult thing to do. I certainly do not look forward to any day that we might have to.

• Apr. 24, 2006 - Sigh, "Church Shopping"

Posted by Chaotic Mom
We move so much that I've hated looking for churches. When we moved here we immediately settled into the parish where the boys go to school. I'm not so sure that was a good idea. I don't think these people are used to "outsiders". They're very nice, but I haven't felt comfortable yet, and it's been over eight months now. I've HEAVILY considered trying out another place. Catholic or Protestant wouldn't matter to me at this point.
