• May. 13, 2006 - 100th Lesson!

Posted in Education

Buster read four lessons yesterday in Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons to complete the book!  Each child who finishes the book is promised a little party, and Buster was no exception.  So last night we had cake and sang "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow."

Here's the cake.  I hope my friend A.M. isn't reading, 'cause it's nowhere near as good as her creations!  LOL!

(A you can see, this was impromptu...I did not have time to clear the clutter off the counter.)

Here's the Jolly Good Fellow.

Cake with sparkler to jazz it up.

Family enjoying the cake.

This is kind of weird, but DH always eats his cake in a bowl with milk poured all over it.

Finally, to add a bit of miscellany, here are some bird eggs DH found in a field he was dragging for rocks.  One is already broken (thanks, Mopsy), but the other two are under a lamp.  Probably nothing will come of them but a bad smell; we're not being very scientific about it.

Congratulations to Buster (and you!)! Your party idea is fantastic and will make the completion of his lessons memorable. Great pics. Meant to tell you, too, that Pudge is absolutely adorable sucking his fingers! The idea about the blanket at those times is very inventive. Worth a try at least. Many loves and hugs to you, especially on Mother's Day!

We always ate Leftover cake in a bowl with milk. Then, when Cookie Crisp came on the market, we couldn't understand why Mom wouldn't buy it. She said, "cookies for breakfast? Ridiculous!!"
