First, our beloved public system of education is highlighted on Tom's blog for yet another jaw-dropping display of complete madness.  Sure hope Seattle parents of Christian faith aren't of Dr. Beam's mind, for their kids' sake.  "In disarray and pagan to the core."  Nooooo kiddin'.

Second, Tom collects some quotes from the movie review site Rotten Tomatoes regarding a Certain Movie that has got some folks Worked Up in a Lather.   I read the book; probably won't see the movie, at least not this year.  I don't go to theaters above once or twice a year and it has to be a pretty special film to draw me.  Judging by the book, which is full of historical inaccuracies, and which I can review in two words ("kinda goofy") this one won't be in the "pretty special" category.
