Susie-Q&A

• May. 22, 2006 - Down for the Count

We all got hit with a virus late in the week, with lots of cookies being tossed.  Not fun!  I escaped the aforementioned symptom but was dreadfully achey (so was DH).  My very fingers and the soles of my feet ached!

Today, we all seemed recovered, so I relented and let the kids go to their final Awana night.  Truth be told, I will be glad not to have to drive out to the next city on Sunday nights anymore.  Although I was pleased to see them receive their awards.

Other than that, I didn't do much today except feed the baby and watch a couple of old Cary Grant/Irene Dunne flicks.  I did pick up stuff in the living room once or twice, and start a load of laundry, but no housework stays done for long.

I let the kidbots watch a Looney Tunes DVD.   It was mostly Road Runner/Wile E. Coyote.  Now, Road Runner is okay in small doses, but you can only watch a character get pummeled by trucks and anvils for so long before you start rooting for him to catch that dratted bird, already.  Chicken commented, "The coyote sure has bad ideas.  He must get out of his mind when he's hungry."  I can identify.  Hunger makes me irrational too.  As does sleeplessness, so goodnight!

Goodness, I feel your pain! We had the "tummy ups" about two weeks ago and it passed through the house like a roaring tornado. I got it, too, and was down for three days! I'm so thankful you didn't get it, although the achiness wasn't any fun, I'm sure. We'll pray every gets well and stays well.

I'm not exactly in my best state when hungry either, or tired... which has been my state much too much these past couple of weeks!
Glad to hear you've all pulled through this latest bug, what is with this last lear and all the viruses?! They seem to be coming more often and with more ooomph than the good old days of throwing up once a year, and coughing once or twice... maybe it was just me and I used to have an immune system which no longer functions in quite the same way... at any rate, with a big family, the statistical likelihood of someone getting sick every time a bug passes through town just keeps getting higher and higher with every added body...
I never used to worry about germs... 5 kids later, I disinfect things a lot...

well, take care of yourself, and all those precious wee ones,
ali
