Twist ties are great for quick home repairs, but you usually have to remove the paper first to get to the wire. I cut down one side of the tie with scissors, cut down the other, then peel off the remainder.
One thing I use the wire for is to repair overall clasps that the end caps have come off. That's always annoying, because the overalls won't stay "hitched" without those end caps! A perfectly good pair of overalls are then useless. So I do a cob job with the wire, winding it tightly down one side of the clasp and up the other. The wire keeps the clasp latched over the button, and doesn't show too badly.
Anybody else use wire for repairs? |
