I should put out scripture "blegs" more often! I got lots of good teaching with my last memory verse. Thank you! I'm in need of it right now.
Next?
Oh, the depths of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
For who has known the mind of the Lord,
Or who has been his counselor?
Or who has given a gift to him
That he might be repaid?
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
Romans 11:33-36
(ESV)
I'll admit, I messed up a few words on this one. I need to work on it again.
If God's judgments are so unknowable by the human heart, I guess we can only trust to his pure goodness, especially when the trials come and things seem so bleak. The oddest thing of all is that God often seems silent and far away in the midst of the trial. I guess that's just part of the testing. We may not understand what he is doing or why, but we can know that there is no evil in him; he is perfectly good and loves us perfectly. Faith like that pleases him, I guess.
"For from him and through him and to him are all things." It's always been a comfort to me to ponder that Jesus is the whole point of the entire universe. If our corner of it seems a little dark and sad sometimes, it's an ecouragement to know that's not the whole of reality.
Okay, goody, now I can photo-blog! |
