• Feb. 6, 2007 - Duct Tape Overrated?
Either that, or it works on every thing but ducts. I have had to tape up my dryer duct twice this morning. That's after DH taped it for me when it fell down a couple of weeks ago. I finally did the biggest Frankenstein tape job I could come up with...and if that doesn't hold, the next step is welding. So, what do guys see in the stuff?
Katie B. told me she only does laundry once a week. Given the size of her brood, I think that qualifies her for Superwoman status. I'm doing 1-3 loads per day! I only have a dozen diapers, so I wash a load of those every night. Then I have a load of yucky underpants to wash every second or third day. Then I do a regular load of clothes (or two) to keep the overflow from the hamper from blocking my laundry doors, which block access to our hallway when open. Then, there is bedding to do every now and then...and I don't do that as often as I should.
The secret, it seems, is wearing your clothes more than once. Unfortunately, I live with messies. I do try to wear my jeans and p.j.'s more than once, and DH wears his outfits more than once, but my kids dip their elbows into the spaghetti sauce or drop jelly down their bellies at meals. Frequent washing does wear out their clothes, though.
I also don't like being chained to the laundry one day out of the week. But, it's probably six of one, half-dozen of the other.
The day I conquer my laundry issues is the day I will be issued my "Professional Homemaker" badge. |
