Susie-Q&A

• Feb. 11, 2007 - Distracted

I've been on the computer way too much the last couple of days, noodling around at other sites while waiting for updates on Jillian.  DH and I have been praying together for her, and I pray with the kids for her when we bow our heads before meals.  And of course, she's on my heart all day.

I just wanted to say thanks to bint for the uplifting comments on the last entry!  They were very encouraging.

We had a nice lunch with our pastor and his family today.  They were very kind (and brave) to invite a family with six children into their home, but they have four children of their own (almost all grown up now) and are very understanding.  :)  Pray for our pastor's family, too, as they are preparing to leave on a missions trip together.

Now we're getting ready to go to Awana.  Next week, we have no Awana and the week after that, I'm supposed to help with the Cubbies class (Scrub's).  I always feel so clueless when I'm "helping."    I hope I'm not just in the way.   That's the shy side of me manifesting itself, I guess.

Tomorrow starts a new week, and I have to get my head back on straight and plow into our homeschooling, and especially get a little further through our science.  We've at least been doing our math, writing, and read-alouds the last couple of days.  We are very near the end of Little House on the Prairie, and we finished watching the miniseries Friday night.  We're at least halfway through Tom Sawyer and they all seem to take in the story, though I don't get a lot of feedback on it.  Except from Buster, who says he can only handle one chapter at a time.  I guess they are rather dense, from a literary point of view.

We also need to get to the library for new books.  All of ours are overdue, but our library has a brilliant system where you can go online to renew, and no matter how far overdue, they don't charge fines.  However, too far overdue and you can't check out more until you return what you've got.  Unfortunately, one of our books got waterlogged beside the bed of one-who-shall-remain-nameless when said child's water bottle tipped over onto it.  Guess I'll be paying for that.  Where's an eye-rolling smilie when you need one?  I would have employed it several times in this post already.

I just wanted to shout "THANK YOU" to all the friends and family who visit here and keep up with us, and leave caring comments.   We love you all very much.  We are missing many of you very much right this minute.

Love,

Susannah

It was our pleasure having you all. Looking forward to more of the same. We appreciate having time to get to know you both (all!)
