Susie-Q&A
• Feb. 12, 2007 - Music for the Conscience
In checking the McGarvey's MySpace page, I heard the beautiful Indian-inspired worship music they have put up there, by Aradhna. Music samples are available at the website.
I was poking around there and came across this: the group is raising funding for an organization that assists children who are victims of sex trafficking. I'm convinced: I'm buying a CD at the first opportunity!
I've been feeling lately that I should do more to help this cause. The thought of so many children enslaved and exploited in such a horrible way is almost too much to bear.
ETA: I didn't want to leave the impression that I thought I'd be doing my bit simply by buying a CD! I just felt an immediate kinship with this group because it is one of their concerns too. They raise funding by giving concerts for that purpose.
E (once again) TA: I like the words to this one:
Kalaame Khuda
by Mumtaz Masih
The Word has come to earth to dwell with us
For our sake He came, to love us
Jesus, you came when we were far from you, bringing a message of beauty
From you we have received grace upon grace; is this not the greatest mercy?
Though in this world I cannot see you, your heart is always with your own
You sit in the place of prayer at God’s right hand, in the place of healing |
