• Sep. 28, 2005 - Autumn Leaves A-Falling

Fifteen minutes until my mother arrives to take me to a church meeting...and DH is not home yet.  Chewing on my fingernails here.  I guess if I have to, I'll pack up the kids and take the van.

So...fifteen minutes to blog.

Today has been a run-around day, with

1. History Co-op (we do Story of the World, 3), then

2. P.E. at the Y.M.C.A., then

3. Wal-Mart for quilting fabric, miscellanea, and something for a quickie supper, then

4. Home, where I hosed out garbage cans and quick-washed the van (at DH's request), then

5. Supper (corn dogs), and now,

Here I am.  Finally sitting down.  Ahhhhh!

Told a couple of people in my homeschool group about the pregnancy today (well, it's getting obvious) and they were nice and happy and congratulatory.  I had feared "comments," not so much from the very kind ladies in our group, but from people around town.  But so far, there have been none; at least, none in my hearing.   Not that I care what people think, but this is my sixth child and we are only barely employed at the moment.  So someone's bound to pop off about it.

Yay!  DH is home!

We're getting a touch of real fall weather this week.  Autumn weather makes me restless.  If I were a gardener, I'd be spiffying up the place.  I stand in awe of people who garden.  I have about as much ability for gardening as I do for decorating.  If you were to visit us (I hope you do someday!), you'd know what I mean.  "Functional" is the best I can manage.  It amazes me that some ladies have the excess energy for such things.  I would need the initial rocket-burst of energy to get me around the learning curve, plus the long-term stick-to-itive energy to keep up maintenance.  All the energy I have right now is going into moving the laundry through the machines (and occasionally folding and putting away).

Best get off and spiffy myself up.

Happy autumn!
