• May. 3, 2007 - Stupid Educators

Posted in Education

I think educators in PA need a "wayback" machine, given this post at Woody's Woundup (via Junkyardblog).   They should be sent back in time to their kindergarten year and have to sit still for seven hours a day, five days a week.

I'm sorry.  That's just plain MEAN.  Even a 15-minute recess is utterly insufficient for a child that young.  Putting your kid into a school like that is like committing him to a dank Dickensian orphanage that serves gruel for breakfast, lunch and dinner ("Please, sir, I just want a bit of fresh air and sunshine!") and makes little kids sew Gucci wallets all day long.  A school like this is nothing more than a place of incarceration, and the only crime of the inmates is childhood.  Why aren't the parents in an absolute uproar?  That's what I want to know.  People seem to forget they are free-born citizens these days.

Bbbbut what about socialization?!? Geesh, schools think they rule on the socialization issue, but they don't even give little 5 year olds time to play together. That article showed how stupid school officials are getting. Thanks for sharing!

I guess that shoots down the whole "They must go to school to socialize." theory, eh?
