Susie-Q&A
• Jul. 1, 2008 - The Twenty-Five Dollar Budget
I'm flat busted broke until Thursday, so I had to shop carefully today. Thank goodness for CVS! I bought t.p., bottled water, sunblock, and ladies' necessaries for .62 and earned $11+ ECB's into the bargain. This was a stock-up trip today, not immediate needs (except maybe the sunblock--did you know they make factor 70 now?).
For the immediate grocery needs, I went to the Food Lion right behind CVS (mustard for .50 and some sale 'tata chips for the kids), and then my usual grocery store (sugar, flour, hotdog buns, sale blueberries, milk, other odds & ends for $21).
I have to be careful at The Usual Grocery Store (hereafter, TUGS). It's difficult to leave without emptying $40 and upwards out of my account. I can't seem to put together the same deals there that MSM seems to put together at her stores. It's not that the prices are so much higher than elsewhere. Lack of experience on my part, no doubt. This week there don't seem to be any incredible coupon deals, but I'm probably overlooking something. Corn on the cob is a great deal this week, though: twelve ears for $2. I tried grilling some tonight without a lot of success.
Frustrating homeschool day today, but only because I'm so disorganized right now. I have two or three TONS of housework piled up. Which, of course, is why I'm here blogging instead. Right.
Stinky laundry is priority one tonight. Off I go to shovel clothes. |
