Today saw more baby-preparation. I separated the newborn things from the other sizes and washed them all, and put them in his drawer. I decluttered some baby girl things. I did more deep cleaning in the kitchen, including the fridge interior and the top of my tea cart, which is now decluttered. I cleared the flaming hot spot of a kitchen counter and washed it, cleaned out from under the microwave, and washed all dishes. Still need to do a final mopping. Even cleaned the inside of my washer, which had some sort of yucky film all over it. A bit of Barkeeper's Friend (I love that stuff) and a scrub brush took it right off.
I washed the shop rags and more blech-y underwear. I cleared some stuff off the front porch and got rid of some boxes. Ran errands twice, mailing four more resumes for DH and dropping off our attendance report at the BOE (plus a quick stop by the health department), and then later picking up a prescription and more garbage bags.
DH fixed the Bissell...again. It requires a lot of TLC. He even fabricated his own parts for it. Well, we do use it quite a bit. After solving the suction problem, he did more steam cleaning, this time around the edges of the room. He called around looking for more interim-type work and seems to have found something. (Whew!)
I read a bit more of Dallas Willard's book The Divine Conspiracy. It's very good. DH is reading it simultaneously, but I'm going to try to spirit it away and tuck it (along with Milton) into my hospital bag for some quiet reading there. And yes, I'm taking my TOS magazine to read in the hospital too! Although I couldn't resist reading, or at least skimming, most of it already.
I'm putting off the paper clutter, as usual, with the hope of tackling that tomorrow. Why I dread it so much, I'm not sure. Probably because I have worked on it off and on over the last few months and not seen much progress. It piles right back up again, until in despair I stick it in a box and shove it out in the garage. So many of the papers are not my own to dispose of, so I have no other choice. Of all the clutter I deal with, paper clutter is the type I regard with the greatest horror.
Tomorrow I have to wash the upstairs bedding, vacuum upstairs, and tackle the remaining piles in various corners. I'd like to get some English muffins and biscuits in the freezer for breakfasts after the baby comes. I'd like to stockpile some granola, too. At some point, I really need to make good on my promise to Bug to piece her quilt. A couple of loads of laundry should top it all off.
Uninspired blogging, I know, but at least I'm getting a sense of accomplishment from the work. I'm off to read more inspired blogging before collapsing in bed.
