Happy New Year!

It's here -- 2008 -- wow!  I like new year's resolutions, do you?  Time for fresh starts and new goals.  How ironic that my resolutions just seem to repeat themselves from year to year...but that's okay with me.    I'll have to add "update blog regularly" to my list of resolutions.  Ha!  I also hope to get a bit more blog savvy  this year -- as far as the layout of my blog.

I've begun running on my treadmill once again (a result of one resolution).  I seem to go in exercise spurts, but I am enjoying it and especially enjoy having cable on our TV now -- there is always something to watch while I'm on it.

We also started back to school today.  We are just easing into it....for my sake too.  The schoolroom is still in upheaval so I am trying to spend a bit of time in there each day sorting and organizing.  Our break has been nice, but it will be good to get back into the swing of things.  I love watching the girls learn and they are becoming great readers.   One daughter just finished the book Betsy-Tacy.  She is beginning a cute book called Mr. Poppers Penguins and tonight she gave me a sweet synopsis of what she had read -- she is getting a big kick out of the plot.  The other daughter is reading Caddie Woodlawn.

We continue to unpack and things are shaping up around here.  I recently spent about 3 days sorting through stacks of papers from our filing cabinet.  That was a great feeling to get this up to date.  Now we are just knee-deep in shredding papers we don't need.

Hubby has been busy putting together 4 pieces of furniture we bought at Ikea.  Bless his heart.  We sort of looked like the Ikea commercial with boxes tied on the roof of our car as we drove home.  It was a crack-up.  We bought desks for the girls.  They are very excited to have their own area to study, write letters, etc.  It is fun watching them growing up and their rooms changing to fit their personalities.

It's getting late....until next time....

Hi Again! Looking forward to my "teaching" assignments starting next Tuesday! I know it is a challenge to get a house put back together after having put it all in boxes!!

It is fun to see the changes especially in daughter #1. I see a blooming teeny bopper!

Boy do I love coming over and being "teacher" for a short time each Tuesday!

It so wonderful to have the intergenerational time with Emily and Rachel.

Love reading to them!
