Let the fun begin.......... =)

Well now that we are done with school till

January 8th let the fun begin…

Today after finishing school with the kids

I decided to start my baking so I made

chocolate, chocolate cookies, peanut butter,

wedding cookies, and 4 pie crusts…

Tomorrow my little brother is coming with

his new young adorable, sweet and most

of all one that loves JESUS like I do

hard to believe we have became best

friends… I know that because we share

the passion for Jesus is what has made

our friendship so special…

I am looking forward to hugging my little

brother (though his bigger than me) but

the one I pretty much raised since he

was two years old… J

I am looking forward to showing him around

beautiful Florida, Disney World, our new

home, but the best part will be taking him

to see our new church and worshiping God

together and celebrating the birth of our

Savior… J

My kids are so excited to see their favorite

uncle, they also can hardly wait to show him

around and just spending time with him and

their new aunt Annie… J

I am also looking forward to enjoying

Christmas Eve with special friends…

I know the time will fly by faster than I want

However, I also know that all the fun we have

will only be a taste of eternity with our Jesus

and each other… ;)

Well my friends out there in Blog world…

Have a very Merry Christmas and may

The Lord’s face shine upon you and

Your families…

Yeah finally Friday..........

This week might and I do say might

Have been the toughest week ever

For me in regards to homeschooling.

Let me explain, I have been suffering

From bad head aches to migraines all

Week, part hormonal, part weather..

As you can see the week did not

start to good for me..But it did

keep me praying like 24-7 to

survive…

My husband called and asked how I

Was doing? My reply…”Bring home

Some beer, wine, cigarettes and

Sedatives.. Oh yeah, get a substitute

Teacher this one is going to be out

of it tomorrow…   He replied oh,

that bad ha… Yeah… He said I am

sorry for you but I know our Lindsey,

she will learn it all you always come

through and she gets it…

However, after a week of having to

teach my 12 year old about

compound interest, Banking,insurance,

and home owners Insurance….

God must have known I Needed a laugh

When Lindsey & I read a story problem

This morning she could not pronounce

Meringue pie… she kept saying, “meringuini,

or is it meringet, or merinery? What the

heck is it mom?

I could not stop laughing some how that

made her laugh too and we both worked

on the problem together and she finally

got compound interest..

I know I have high expectations for my

kids, and somehow I believe God honors

my hard work and my kids deliver…

Well eventually not as fast as I would

Like…

Therefore, I am so glad is Friday and

tomorrow we sleep in and relax,

especially since we are all done with

Christmas shopping… ;)

Well hope you all had a wonderful

week and a relaxing weekend…

Suzie =)

Ordinary?....

Something to think about:

There are certain things anyone

Knows not to do….

You don’t try to lasso a tornado.

You don’t fight a lion with a toothpick.

You don’t sneeze into the wind.

You don’t go bear hunting with a cork gun.

You don’t send a shepherd boy to battle a

giant.

You don’t that is, unless you are out

of options…. Saul was…

And it is when we are out of options that we

Are most ready for God’s surprises…

Was Saul ever surprised! The king tried to

give David some equipment: “What do you

Want boy? Shield? Sword? Grenades?

Rifles? A helicopter? We’ll make a Rambo out you.”

David had something else in mind.  Five smooth stones

and an ordinary leather sling. The soldiers gasped..

Saul sighed. Goliath jeered…

David swung. And God made His point.

“Anyone who underestimates what God can do

with the ordinary has rocks in his head…. J

Don't like Halloween

We don’t celebrate Halloween in

or home.  We are the house with

no lights on, because I don’t want

to encourage it…

Instead we have candy

all over the house in bowls and

Imake home made pizza on the 31st

I also make them smore carmel

apples for dessert..…. J

I also tend to read to them what

Halloween really stood for and

remind them why I chose to make

my stand against it…

The funny thing is they both

don’t care about it since they

get the candy they like and

don’t have to beg for it… J

Have a great day!

Love this story

JUST  A MOM?

A woman, renewing her  driver's license at the County Clerk 's office
was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation.

She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.

"What I mean is," explained the recorder,
"do you have a job or are you just a......?"

"Of course I have a job,"  snapped the woman.

"I'm a Mom."

"We don't list 'Mom' as an  occupation, 'housewife' covers it,"
said the recorder emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall.

The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised,
efficient and possessed of a high sounding title like,
"Official Interrogator" or "Town Registrar."

"What is your occupation?"  she probed.

What made me say it?
I do not know.
The words simply popped  out.
"I'm a Research Associate in the field of
Child Development and Human Relations."

The clerk paused, ball-point  pen frozen in midair and
looked up as though she had  not heard right.

I repeated the title slowly  emphasizing the most significant words.
Then I stared with wonder as  my pronouncement was written,
in bold, black ink on the  official questionnaire.

"Might  I ask," said the clerk with new interest,
"just  what you do in your field?"

Coolly, without any trace of  fluster in my voice,
I heard myself reply,

"I have a continuing program  of research (what mother doesn't), in the laboratory and in the field (normally I would have said indoors and out). I'm working for my Masters  (the whole darned family), and already have four credits (all daughters).

Of course, the job is one of  the most demanding in the humanities (any mother care to  disagree?), and I often work 14 hours a day (24 is more like it).

However, the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers and the rewards are more of  a satisfaction rather than just money."

There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she completed the form, stood up and personally ushered me to the door.

As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career, I was greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3.  Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model, (a 6-month old baby) in the child development program testing out a new vocal pattern.

I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy!
And I had gone on the official records as someone more distinguished and indispensable to mankind than
"just another Mom."

Motherhood!
 What a glorious  career!
Especially when there's a title on the door.

Does this make grandmothers

"Senior Research Associates in the field of
Child Development and Human Relations"

and great-grandmothers

"Executive Senior Research Associates"?

I think so!!!

I also think it makes Aunts
"Associate Research Assistants".

Fall......

I just love fall not that is that exciting here

in Florida, but when we lived in California

we wore 2 hrs away from Lake Arrowhead

and every fall we drove up the mountains

and spent the weekend with the beautiful

big trees, crisp weather and fun food…

I am hoping to be able to take a family

trip to explore Ashville, NC  in two

weeks… However, I am not sure we will

since my prince charming might be

starting a new job…? ???

Well hopefully we will, if not that is

okay… I have been to Ohio a

year ago and saw the leaves change

color which was just gorgeous…

I really like the fall colors like red,

yellow, orange, green, purple and

brownJ I finally learned why the

leaves change color this year in

my son’s Biology book… J

Funny how “I” take everything for

granted and not realize how amazing

(our  play ground -> world) that God

created is…. I think that is why I love

to learn about everything… Even

though my memory is not as sharp..

I have been crocheting some scarfs

for Christmas and I have a feeling

they are fall colors and I hope

the people who are getting them will

like them or I am in big trouble… LOL…

(yeah it does get a little chilly here in

Florida)   J just a little….

Well since “fall” is my favorite time

of year what is yours?   =)

Another week goes by.......

Well here we are, Thursday already…

We have been busy with school

everything is going smooth so far…

I am working on a scrapbook for my

little brother (age 33)… Edy and

his wife Annie are coming to visit

for Christmas…  J I am so excited…

I decided to make him a scrapbook

because when we grew up my Mom

left my father (he was physically abusing

her and us) and we left everything behind

except the clothes we wore wearing.

Therefore, we don’t have many pictures of

us around.. My mother also never took

pictures of us, so I had to beg for copies

from my uncles and aunts…

I thought since I love to scrapbook and

he always enjoys my books I would

make one for him… J

Edy and I are very close like best friends

and my sister in law and I are that close

also.  I love them both dearly… J

Funny how pictures seem to show

peoples personalities….

My daughter asked, “Why does

Grandma always looks so sad? “

I told her I guess she is not a happy

person? But we should pray so she

gets the joy of God J

I guess that is why I like to smile so

much…  J

Hope you are all having a good

week….   J

Busy Week.......

Another week has gone by…. Wow!

This week was busy for us after having

nursery last Sunday, my daughter

had not  been feeling too good and I

too have not been feeling good…L

One of those adorable babies had

a cold and I think we all got some

of it… (even though I washed my

hands every 10 min.??) Oh well…

We did manage to get all our

lesson done except for one day

when we had a field trip to the

Daytona Museum, where they had

an exhibit about “Ink & Blood”

(the dead sea scrolls)  It was

awesome to see some of the

scrolls and artifacts from that era,

it some how brought it all to live… J

My kids and I really enjoyed it..

In our way home we stopped and

had some Crispy Cream donuts

with coffee… We had some

home school friends ride with us..

Crispy Creams are my favorite &

also my very picky 15 year old son.

Then it hit me when I asked

him how many he wanted…

He replied, “No thanks Mom, I

lost my dessert privilege all week…”

I had forgotten I punished him early

in the week for not finishing his

Algebra 2 work..   L

I felt so bad… But I have to keep

My “No’s as No…”  He did not

complain, pout or anything he did

smiled… Yikes that is the hard

part for me when I stand my ground

and feel, oh no!....

But God is faithful when we got home

he hugged me and said, “You’re the best

mom and I love you”….

With tears in my face I hugged

him back and said, “You’re the Best Son”

I use to be worried about raising teens but

Because of my commitment to raise God

Loving & fearing children it has paid off now..

I am so thankful that God has given me the

strength to be consistent no matter what

because my fruits are paying off… J

I hope you all have a phenomenal weekend…

Another week of schoool....

I can’t believe a week has gone by…

I don’t know about anyone ells but

the time is going by so fast for me?

We finish another week of school

and it went pretty smooth… J

My son is doing Biology and I

know this Biology is more complex

than when I took it in high school..

However, I decided to really

learn it with him and it has been

fun reading and studying it together..

When I think I only have three more

years with my son I have mixed

emotions… I am excited for him and

sad at the same time…

The little boy who use to look

up at me with an adoring smile,

know looks down at me with a

loving look… J

Where has time gone I ask?

thank goodness for my

twelve year old daughter…

Even though my girl is a rebel,

she is also a sweetheart at the

same time… J

Well as we start a new week

I pray for “Jesus” to continue

guiding my every step as I

mold my children’s future…

I hope you all have a

Stupendous week….

Stupendous Weekend.........

Our weekend was fabulous!!!!

We had a blast at Typhoon Lagoon,

it was not crowded we did not have to

wait for any water ride… We also

enjoyed looking at the shark area,

which you can swim with them, but

I declined, I not ready for that thrill yet… J

In the afternoon we went back to the hotel

to shower (because thou stinketh) and

look pretty for the “Night of Joy”

part of the fun of going to Disney is

staying at their resort hotels…

My favorite is the New Orleans

Okay off to the Magic Kingdom,

we went on few rides before the

concert started and then we listened

to my favorite group “Casting Crowns”,

“Mercy Me” and there were others but

they are my favorite…

It was fun to see my daughter sing with

me their songs and to see tears in her

eyes when they sang “Praise You in the Storm”

I hope that when I get to heaven I get to sing

Praise songs to my Jesus…. J I can hardly

Wait for that day…. J

We actually got to enjoy all four parks

there and Disney Quest

without having to wait in line longer than 15 to

20 min… It was fantastic… J

Hope you all had a divine weekend…

Suzie   =)

Locked from the Inside

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and

broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there

are many who go in by it."

Matthew 7:13

There was a certain judge known as Hanging Bob, because he

handed out such stiff penalties for those who broke the law.

One day, his son was arrested for drunken driving.

The courtroom was filled with people who wanted to see if

Hanging Bob would be consistent in the way he meted out

justice. A hush fell across the room as Hanging Bob

pounded down his gavel and said, "Guilty." Just as he

always did, he had given out the harshest penalty.

But then that same judge laid down his gavel, took off his robe, and

descended from the bench. He turned to the courtroom and said,

"As a judge, I have done my job and enforced the law. Now, as a

father, I will pay the fine for him."

God, in His justice, gave us the standard: When we sin, we break

God's law and have to face the penalty. But the same God sent

His Son to die on the cross—to be tortured and killed—because

His righteous requirement had to be dealt with. God said,

"Though you are the offender, though you deserve what you

would get, I love you so much that I placed the penalty upon

My Son. Now He has paid the price. If you will turn to Me by

faith, realize that My Son died for you, and will follow Him,

then you can join Me in heaven."

Yet if you reject God's gracious offer, if you spurn His forgiveness,

then you have charted your own course. And as C. S. Lewis said, the

gates of hell are locked from the inside.

What's for dinner..........

Yesterday I made something I was craving…

When I was a young girl my mom would

occasionally make enchiladas with mole,

rice and beans… for some odd reason

I wanted it for dinner…

When the kids asked, “What’s for dinner

I said, “Enchiladas con mole, y arros, y

frijoles.. (son is taking Spanish this year.)

They both looked at each other and said,

What is mole? I told them is a delicious spice

that has chiles and I am adding a bar of

chocolate to it… The looked baffled.. J

They said to me, “Mom, I don’t think I am

going to like it… I said, “Just try it…”

When we sat down for dinner they both tasted

it and their eyes lighted up… yummy this is

really good… J I told them see I told you

it would be good… I think the chocolate

surprised them… J

When we wore done I said okay no dessert

we already had our chocolate in our

dinner.. LOL.. J They laughed…

Hope you are all having a good week…

We just finished our third day of school…..

We just finished our third day of school…

You know how you have one child that

loves to learn… (my oldest 15 yrs old,

a sophomore this year) and then you

also have one that does not like school..

(my youngest 12 yrs old in 7th grade)..

Well thank goodness I only have two

kids. First day and my 7th grader

does not follow directions, works

slow on her seat work, and gets

attitude… grrrr…

Punishment:  No computer, No TV…

child’s response…. Mom you’re hard

core….Mother’s response….hmm

“Do you think God is hard core?”

child’s response…. No Way

Mom’s response, “Really have not

read? The Bible tells us about a

man named Uzzah reached out to

keep the covenant from falling and

God struck him dead… or maybe you

remember the story of Israel how they

complained about everything and

God opened the earth and it swallowed

them? And you think God is not hard

core? Hmm… Phil 2:14 - Do everything

without complaining or arguing. (NIV)

She was quiet after that and finished

her work… Today she did not complained

got her work finish on time and is now

Happy playing in the computer..

She said to me, “Mom your right you

need to punish hard if you want us to

learn just like God did… J

Well as always God is faithful as I am

Also faithful to teach my children both

Academically and spiritually…

Hope you all have a magnificent day!

It has been a fun summer full of new discoveries

and fun with friends.. J

Today I reviewed my daughters Bible Curriculum

tool for him.

I have read the first week of Literature

What have I been up to lately?

Since summer is coming to a culmination, I like to

get my Christmas cards completed during this time,

since it seems to be the only time I get to

enjoy my hobby... :)

I had been struggling with a new design

for my Christimas cards, that always takes

so much time...

Then I have to think of what the card will

say inside...

I love snow men and ginger bread cookies...

So I thought about it and came up with the

following designs and my very own story too..

Remember I am not a professional writer.. LOL..

I also have been working on some scarfs for

friends and family.... :)

The Ginger Bread Man

By Suzie Brush

There was a baker long ago that made an exquisite and unique batch of ginger

bread cookies…(And God formed man of the dust of The ground and breathed

into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.. Gen 2:7)

When the baker pulled the cookies out of the oven, one ran away. The baker

was heartbroken and went looking for it.. The cookie was found by a bakery owner

he took it and displayed it on his front shelf for sale.. (What do you think if a man

has hundredsheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine

and go the mountains to seek the one that is straying? Matt 18:12)

The baker saw his cookie in the bakery shop self and went inside to get it..

He told the baker, “That is my cookie”.. The baker replied, you want that

cookie you must buy it. (just as the Son of Man did not come to be

served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for  many… Matt 20:28

The baker took home his precious cookie and placed it in His house..

He told the cookie “I have made you, I have bought you, now you

are mine forever!” (And this is the testimony: That God has

given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son Jesus… 1Jon 5:10

Let me know what you think? Suzie

These are the cards I made.....

These are the scarfs I made....    =)

Something to think about

I heard something on the radio that made me think,

I will share that with you and see what you think...

It was a cold rainy day when a man was driving down

the street with his two-seater car and he noticed in the

corner waiting for a bus was the woman of his dreams,

an old man who was about to die and needed to go

to the hospital and his best friend....

What would you do? who would you take? and

why?

Well he gave his best friend the keys to take the

old man to the hospital and sat in the rain and

talked with the woman of his dreams.... LOL....

Okay there is nothing godly about this story it's

just cute and makes me think what I would have done?

Have a super day! ****Suzie****  =)

Ft. Lauderdele Trip

Our trip to Ft. Lauderdale was fun...

I have been busy doing all kinds of things

as usual and had no time to blog or post

pictures of our trip utnil now... :)

The drive was not too bad and the weather

was beautiful as usual...   =)

We all enjoyed the museum and the 3-D

IMAX movie about the "Deep Sea" it was

educational and entertaining too... :)

We also loved visiting Bob Coy's church,

we stopped by to check out the church on

Friday afternoon and took a tour on our own..

it was very nice and big too... LOL

Then we decided to eat at the little coffeehouse

that is on the campus and the food was good, the

atmosphere wonderful... :)

Miami was your typical big city, kind of like

California, so we felt right at home... LOL

We did some shopping and exploring too..

Then on  Sunday we went to Bob's church

and enjoyed his sermon... He sure knows

how to teach the Bible... :)

There is nothing better for me than to listen

to an amazing Pastor -> Teach the Bible... :)

I wish we lived closer to hear him more often...

Even though it was a fun visit, we are glad

to be home.... :)

Hope you are all having a great day!
